Amazing experience. Fish was top quality and super fresh. Will definitely go back to this restaurant!
We love David Bou restaurants !!!
Fantastic the entire way through. The restaurant and Versace mansion are beautiful. The food was some of, if not the the very best sushi I’ve ever had. Sushi chef was nice, knowledgeable and very talented. Would highly reco and would go back anytime
It was a unique experience! The staff was fantastic, the two other couples we sat with were delightful, and the food was delicious! Fun night! We stayed after dinner and had a couple glasses of wine. Very cool space.
Wonderful experience--second time at a Sushi by Bou. First was in NYC, with the location in a hotel room. This was at the Versace Mansion in Miami. Food was absolutely amazing (thank you to our chef, David), and you get to spend time at the Versace Mansion! A really fun and memorable experience.
Great quiet Omakase Experience.
We went for my sister’s birthday. It was a great meal. Easily the freshest fish I’ve ever tried and the 3 people I took were mindblown. I frequent the East Village location and the quality is just as good in Miami. 5/5 stars
Terrible terrible service Food was rushed insanely. Blasting rap music. The sushi was good but with all the other nonsense it was not a pleasant experience at all
Great food and great place at the Versace mansion. We even got to meet the man Himself, Bou!!!!
Thanks for the great time.
Just a difficult experience. Updated reservation and contact info with someone over the phone, info was not saved, caused much confusion. We will likely not be back.
Unique customer centric experience. Highly recommend it
From the very start it was a mess. I walked in and some upitty hostess with an outdated smartpad asked me whether I was in the right place. Yes I had a reservation, I said. She directed me to somebody else with a smart device: stated my name and time. Sorry we don’t see you here. Even at the sushi bar? I ask. Oh that’s different, the sushi person will handle that please sit to the side. I sit to the side for 10 min then then get a call from the restaurant asking me whether I’d still make my res. Yes I’m sitting in the courtyard, per their instructions, I reply. No I don’t see you, says person on the phone. Cue warning about if I am late yadda yadda... oh they made you wait outside? Let me get you..
What proceeded was one of the most amateur, pathetic, and least professional omakases I’ve ever had in my life. The only other person who was at the counter with me was a complete and utter social idiot who thought it was appropriate to demand her own courses of the chef (including entire sections off menu) for no explicable reason than that she did not read the omakase rules.
Look, difficult patrons happen, but what made this experience utterly subpar and inexcusable was the fact that that was that the staff had no clue how to handle this difficult patron, leading to my courses being unnamed or even fully characterized. I felt like an afterthought and hindrance while they were catering to some doll who wanted three spoons of uni and ‘whatever you can make spicy!’
These are marks of amateurs and not true sushi professionals. And despite the fact that they seem to have great connections to quality seafood, the staff and chefs here are FAR FAR below anything that would past muster in most other major cities.
DO come here with companions who could CARE LESS about the sushi experience but WOULD like to see an opulent house.
Please DO NOT come here for an excellent sushi experience.
But IMO a supreme waste of money and embarrassment to the art of Edomae sushi.
The food was stunning, as well as the venue itself. Only downside was the uncomfortable seating
The. Best. Experience. Ever.
This was some of the best, if not the best, sushi I’ve ever had. No fancy rolls, just pure / simple / high quality sushi made by an expert shelf. The vibe of being in the Versace mansion eating in his parlor room was also very cool. Very happy we decided to try this out 👍🏼
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommended!
The whole experience from beginning to end has been amazing! Yummy food and romantic ambiance ... I give it 5 stars
Loved it! Ended up being only party their had a great time and everything was excellent.
Absolutely delicious in a very cool setting. Would visit again.
I’ve lived in Miami for 20+ years and I’ve never been inside the Versace Mansion. They have been trying all kinds of different ways to make the mansion profitable. I think this is a step in the right direction. Not only is it a chance to see an iconic piece of architecture, but it’s a chance to have an authentic omakase experience. My girlfriend and I had the 17 course tasting. Every piece was fresh and delicious. The marinated akami, uni, chutoro and A5 Wagyu pieces really stood out. The chef was friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails were great as well. We both had the Yuzu Honey Bee. For $125 per person this is great value. It’s considerably less than my other favorite omakase meal in Miami and the location is unique. If you wanna impress somebody you can’t go wrong if you take them here.
The rice was under cooked, we told the chef 3 times it was crunchy not soft like omakase rice should be. He laughed it off and continued to serve it to us. I’m embarrassed I spoke so highly of it the place to my friend, I’m normally so pleased with Sushi by Bou, it was my 7th time there
Overall great experience
Super dope! Awesome service
Let me start by saying this was a great experience for me and my girlfriend. From the second we entered the lounge, to the tour of the mansion, to us leaving. We felt nothing but priority customers. Owner was very friendly and greeting everyone making sure their experience is going as expected. The staff being extremely welcoming and friendly. The vibe was very cool and felt natural. It wasn’t a uptight fancy spot. Which we definitely liked. Now the food.. Amazing, the dinner per plate is pretty pricey but the experience that comes with it is well worth it. We will definitely be back soon, arigatōgozaimashita to Chef Ryu.
Highly recommended! Exclusive dining in the most Miami of venues.
Being able to dine in a historic building is a plus. But then add an awesome sushi experience...Amazing!!
Amazing experience. On the expensive side but every bite is worth it. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. A must if time permits in South Beach.
Greta experience! The staff was amazing, the sushi was the best I've ever had, and in the Versace Mansion of all places
I made this reservation for my wife's birthday. We got there a bit early to enjoy the place and were shown to a bar in the entry level. Where we enjoyed a wonderful cocktail. While we were there we were told that there was another bar upstairs closer to the sushi bar that had a/c. Which we went to after finishing our cocktail downstairs. We enjoyed some sake upstairs and were always well taken care of by the staff. Always wanting to see how they could help or what we needed. Once we were escorted to the bar for the sushi the chef was very engaged with us and we had a good time getting him to explain each piece. The food was excellent and we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. It's more than just going to have excellent sushi, being at the exVersace mansion is a treat and quite the experience.
AMAZING! What a personal and beautiful experience!
The chef was amazing the ancillary staff were awesome and beautiful people inside and out really cool people I met there even went out to an exclusive restaurant speakeasy club afterwards with a famous painter we met there ! Great vibes!
Amazing staff and superb food!
Very fine omakase
What a great experience. Service was fantastic and the sushi was incredible. Eating at the Versace Mansion was a very cool experience. In fact, the sushi service my wife and I enjoyed took place in a space that was Princess Di's bedroom when she would visit. My advice would be to relax and enjoy the very casual atmosphere when you first arrive. The front room is yours to enjoy during your visit so grab any seat and get your drink order ready. One hour goes by quick but it's a one of a kind experience for dinner.
My second time comming.
Fantastic cuisine and experience. After dinner we took a tour of the mansion. Will go again.
The food was great, but I would not return. This is a good place for a one-time experience, especially because it is inside the Versace Mansion. However, it's pretty annoying to be there. Although we purchased a number of cocktails while waiting for our reservation time, we were repeatedly pressured by one of the employees to purchase a bottle of sake, even though I kept telling him I am not interested. He probably asked me 6 or 7 times, and it started getting very annoying. This impacted our experience quite negatively. In any case, if you like good sushi and want to see the Versace Mansion, then go here once. Otherwise, skip it.
While i would recommend Sushi By Bou to a friend i would have to let them know its extremely pricey. Food and service was outstanding! I The ambiance and music went well beyond my expectations. Thought the price per drink was a little much. My wife and i each had a couple cocktails and it was over $100 a lone for those. I always tip 20% so was a bit surprised to see 22% already included. Knowing then what i know now i would have skipped the alcohol and just focused solely on the food
