   Truly an amazing experience with great food. Each hand roll was AMAZING. The only thing we didn’t care for were the drinks (pictured) we ordered while in the waiting lounge for our reservation. Everything else was more than fabulous. If you love sushi, as we do, this is 100% an experience to try. Well be going back each time we’re in the city now.

   The food was great - as per usual. Probably my fifth visit to this chain so know what I’m getting. Service at this venue was okay (host was slightly bored but efficient) but the bathroom was grotty and that was a turn off.

   They don’t tell you it’s timed. So if you want more food youre kinda kicked out and stuck eating it in their lounge.

    We loved this restaurant! The space is intimate and the sushi chef explains every piece he makes right in front of you. The staff has such a fun attitude and wants to ensure you’re having a great time. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. It was a birthday celebration and they even gave me a card! We plan to go back.

    The chef was amazing and super considerate. Very friendly and easy to talk to. As other review suggest, the receptionist is super time sensitive. Although I had an appointment at 6:30 PM for the 60 minute Bougie packages, I was sat at 6:35 PM and rushed off at 7:23PM. I timed it due to the prior review. We were given no guidance after being told to return to the “bar room”. I had to walk back out and ask how to pay the check so I could leave. I would say be careful with time.

    Do NOT go here if you have an allergy of any kind. The sushi chef asked us for allergies, but when we told him, I sat there and watched him take zero precautions — used all the same utensils, cutting board, gloves, etc. When I asked him to change his gloves in between handling the allergen and our food, he was rude and acted super inconvenienced. When I saw him about to brush the same brush over our sushi as I had seen him brush over the allergen a second before, I had to stop him. The man actually rolled his eyes at me and told me that was the same brush they used for everything. Then don’t tell people you can accommodate allergies! For some of us, this thing is life or death. The cross-contamination continued that way to the point where I had to stop eating halfway through the course. Buyer beware.

    When a restaurant has a strict time requirement and will charge for no shows, I expect them to likewise compensate their patrons if they too are not on time. (Idealistic, I realize.) This is the extreme, however. For a restaurant that has 30 minute seatings, they were nearly 30 minutes late to our seating and then served us everything in less than 15 minutes. The sushi itself was well prepared, though SUGARFISH and Kazu Nori are both better values for similar quality of fish, even while the variety is better here. Ultimately, I would not go back nor recommend. The chef (Sam) was kind and made sure we knew what we were eating. They served us sake on the house which was a start (though at no time did they attribute it to the late start). Ultimately though, if I owe them $30/pp if I miss my reservation time, should they not be held to the same standard when they miss theirs? (Obviously, the power lies with Sushi by Bou in this case as you are already there if they miss on your reservation and they don’t generously give you the company card to charge them if they aren’t running on time or within 10 minutes…)

    Extremely rushed if you don’t do the 60 minute service. They don’t allow everyone to do it, so request in advance. The prior seating ran over so we felt even more rushed by the staff to get out of there so they can seat the next guests and make up for lost time (which they took out on us). The courses were very good, but this really ruined our experience.

    If you like sushi, you’ll LOVE this restaurant. It’s not what I expected, but in a really good way. The sushi chef makes everything in front of you and then serves you one piece at a time. It was FANTASTIC and I highly recommend it!

    For a place that boasts a 30 min seating, we were sat at least 25 minutes late. Conveniently, they had us wait in the bar so we could spend money on drinks and then when the meal was over asked us to move back to the bar and spend more money on drinks. Food was delicious but not the experience I would look for again.

    All the fish was precut, taken from a stack laying at room temperature, so not fresh as freshly sliced. The cuts were all very small. The chopped toro used in the hand roll was taken from a package that looked identical to a package you’d buy ground beef in a store—so again not freshly made. For these prices, I expect my sushi to be cut in front of me. I would NEVER return here bc using precut sushi pieces from a stack in my $100 sushi meal is unacceptable. Very disappointed.

    Had a great time - I wanted to take my mother out for a fun day out in the city and knew an omakase experience would make her day. I had been before to Sushi by Bou for my birthday in 2019 and knew the experience. From the moment we walked in we were greeted, escorted to the bar area while we waited for our drink and didn’t wait long. Seats were comfortable and our chef was detailed with all of the pieces. I appreciated the taste and variety. I went with the Big Mac speciality roll and would highly recommend. The cocktails were also complimenting the taste of each piece and were perfect. Would look forward to coming back to this Nomad location or any other in the future.

    We love Sushi by Bou and have tried quite a few of the locations. The Nomad location has a great little lounge area where you can get drinks before or after your dinner. We got stuck a quite loud group by that’s not the fault of the staff or restaurant. The sushi was fresh but a little basic for Omikase even compared to other Sushi by Bou locations. There were also out of a few of the unique ones and that was a bit disappointing. What we didn’t really like is as soon as we paid the bill we were rushed out so they can sit the next people down. I get that they have limited seating but the reservations were definitely booked too close together, so we had a last bite of sushi and were immediately presented with a bill and then 30 seconds later were asked to stand up and move to the lounge. I would say the Jersey City of Chelsea locations were much better. Try those instead. Drink options were great and sushi was very fresh and delicious. So if those are the most important boxes on your list then this place is a great choice.
