Like Japan, Peru has a millennia-old history. They are two great, ancient civilizations with two major culinary traditions. These traditions complemented one another, and neither of the two sides absorbed the other to the point where one disappeared. SusherÍa menu is the result of this great union and the experience/vision of Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld and his dedicated culinary team lead by Peruvian Executive Chef Javier Angeles-Beron.

About the experience -
Susheria is a unique casual-glam restaurant concept where you will enjoy Izakaya, a Japanese style of service. The Japanese version of tapas, dishes will be served when ready. Izayaka is a perfect moment to enjoy life, laughter and great conversations while sharing food and drinks.

I arrived before the rest of my party and sat at the bar for about 45 minutes without being told that we only had a 90 minute limit once we sat down. Our reservation was at 5:45 and at 7:13 exactly the server told us we were “exceeding”. Not only were we not exceeding I, the person who originally checked in for the reservation wasnt made aware of the limit. In the case that we were exceeding, why wouldnt the server have given us a 5-10 minute warning? Didnt really appreciate that, the vibes were cool but the communication was poor on their part. And their drinks are overpriced.

Food, service, location were all amazing. But at about 7:30 they lowered the lights and brought out a DJ to the point where my husband and I had to yell at each other to talk. We even joked about how loud it was with the table next to us. Would go again if I knew they wouldn’t blast music.

This was a lively restaurant, and the food was spectacular. It is a bit pricey, but our family was celebrating a couple of wins for members. This definitely was a perfect spot for the four of us!

The only setback to my most recent visit to Susheria yesterday was that they’re currently awaiting renewal of their liquor license.. so they are current not serving alcohol. Otherwise, it was a good visit!
