About the Menu -
Like Japan, Peru has a millennia-old history. They are two great, ancient civilizations with two major culinary traditions. These traditions complemented one another, and neither of the two sides absorbed the other to the point where one disappeared. SusherÍa menu is the result of this great union and the experience/vision of Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld and his dedicated culinary team lead by Peruvian Executive Chef Javier Angeles-Beron.

This restaurant is gold, the food is flavorful and very well priced, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time with excellent recommendations, definitely coming back!!
We went there for my boyfriend’s birthday with our friends. It was our first time in Susheria. The ambiance was great, we could sit outside next to heaters. The food was amazing, especially the sushis ,we loved the volcano one.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.Nice people and great service.
Great service and food, the specialty drinks were amazing
Susheria is amazing. The food is delicious and different from so many other fusion restaurants. Their cocktails are also scrumptious. You get a good amount of food for the cost. It’s a great first date or ladies night spot. It’s conveniently located in Georgetown right near an AMC theater.
2/3s of the doors orders was incorrect. Waited 40 minutes before food ever was served. Order was 3 simple sushi rolls. Items are 10%-20% more than they would be elsewhere in the city. The waitress told us lies about what we ordered and how we when we disputed what we were ordered.
everything was great!
Will never go here again. I was told that my group could not have an available outdoor table despite me calling earlier in the day to make sure outdoor dining was available (because of Covid precautions) both the host and the manager spoke so rudely and told us if we couldn't sit inside, we would have to come back in 25 minutes. Again, there was a table outside that was open but we were told we could not be seated there because it's saved for groups with dogs. When we returned 25 minutes later, we were seated at the same available table we had been told we could not have. The waitress was so rude the entire time, the food was slow (2 hours for sushi rolls) and tasted okay but certainly too small portions for the price. When we got the check the waitress refused to split the bill for three guests and had already included a 20% service charge but left room for additional recommended tips. This 20% charge was not listed anywhere on the menu or website and the service was certainly not worth 20%. Never go here unless you want to be treated with disdain and mediocre food. Better off getting grocery store sushi and throwing $50 in the Potomac. At least that way you wouldn't be sitting under a highway and would actually have nice views.
Great bar selection. Food and service were wonderful
Absolutely awful service. And they had the nerve to have automatic gratuity of 25% when it took 30 minutes to even order food and even longer to get the check. Would not recommend. Drinks and food were average, not worth the price.
Would definitely go back! Delicious food and drink. Also good service. Was a noisy bc we were seated close to the street, but can’t be helped bc of COVID. Tables were adequately spaced as well.
Food was great only downside is the outdoor seating is really loud because of the traffic.
Good meal the other night in a quiet corner of the restaurant. Good social distancing, felt safe. Fish was very fresh, excellent quality. Kitchen and bar were a little slow, but I think they were a little short staffed. But would go back again for sure.
Everything was amazing! The fresco roll and ceviche was some of the best I ever had! The flavors were so prominent and delicious! I will definitely be back for both! My family also enjoyed their meals as well. They had the lomo saltodo, teriyaki chicken and chile honey chicken. The waitress also gave us excellent customer service! Glad to see they were really keeping their restaurant clean and spacing us apart. However, they do need to tidy their bathroom a bit more as they didn't look like they were part of the restaurant meaning they looked like they belonged in a chain restaurant, very gross.
Very long wait but great service and food.
Great drinks with expensive and poor quality food in a very noisy environment.
Best sushi in DC! Always an amazing time!
The food was absolutely delicious, there was a longer than normal wait time because it was Friday night but my fiancé and I loved every bite
OpenTable accepted my reservation even though the restaurant was clearly closed at the time, which i didn't find out until i arrived with my guest for dinner. Very disappointed.
The waiter was really nice and helpful. Everything that the waiter recommended was delicious.
Ceviche was excellent, if a bit too spicy for my friend. The wraps in seaweed are a nice innovation, kind of like a giant sushi. I would return.
I've never been a big fan of sushi, but Susheria had the BEST spicy tuna roll. It was the perfect size, perfectly spiced and melted in your mouth. Their happy hour deals are a great value and their options vary. Everything I ordered was delicious, cooked to perfection and served hot. I highly recommend.
Great food and ambiance. Unusual combination of Japanese and Peruvian food. A bit pricey but excellent food. Very creative. There was even a saxophone player joining the DJ on a sat night
The service was very disorganized. The cocktails were average (I tried 3 hoping to land on something that was memorable). I had hoped for better food based on the price point. Pretty standard sushi spot if not overpriced.
Food was amazing and very nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.
Food is great, but you need to get a much better wine list, and better service.
“Hey, is the salmon coming?”
“Hey, is the salmon still coming?”
“Do you remember the salmon?”
“I remember you ordered salmon but you never picked one”
“Which salmon sushi?”
“There is only one”
Then they charged us for a different bill than they presented us with. An extra $40.
I would recommend Susheria for its sheer ambiance and the uniqueness of its menu. The food portions were relatively small and not anything too amazing, their sushi menu was severely underwhelming.
We came for Valentine’s Day dinner. Overall our experience was good. Our server was very nice and did a great job making sure we were good. The overall ambiance was trendy and the music was good, albeit a little loud. The only weird part of the night was the hostess walked around and took video, with flash, every 10 minutes or so. That was a little awkward. But overall a good time. Be sure to get the tempura asparagus!
Perfect date spot. Great service, food, drinks and ambiance!
Nice spot on a slow night apparently. Didn’t really need the reservations. I can imagine it’s significantly busier once weather changes. Great sushi variety/options. Decent cocktail menu.
Lovely staff and nice location. A bit “night af the foxy” for ambiance and the sushi was just a bit over okay.
Outstanding meal and service...live entertainment was an added bonus. We will visit again.
Nice spot but very loud. There was live music which was a nice spot but if you are trying to converse over dinner you may want to try another location. Very hip and in and very DC!
Live ballerina and violinist. Knock out sushi. Overall incredible experience!
Went for a birthday dinner, and it was great. Food was amazing. Environment was great, they had an artist playing the violin during dinner and he was great. Sang happy birthday and had flan the was sooo delicious... absolutley loved the braised rib roll, as well as the Buenos Aires which is a crab roll that was absolutely fantastic... going back to continue exploring the menu
The staff was incredible dismissive and rude. Our desert came when we were only about halfway through our entree and the staff attempted to rush us the entire time. Further, the food was wildly overpriced considering the relatively underwhelming quality of the food.
Food came out too fast. Food was good but just felt rushed throughout.
The sushi was decent but their rice bowl was terrible. There are a lot of potential because the ambiance is great but the food was mediocre.
We were the only ones in the restaurant (it was 3:30pm) and service was surprisingly slow, but the food was absolutely great. I’ve been a few times before and haven’t been disappointed!
