About the Menu -
Like Japan, Peru has a millennia-old history. They are two great, ancient civilizations with two major culinary traditions. These traditions complemented one another, and neither of the two sides absorbed the other to the point where one disappeared. SusherÍa menu is the result of this great union and the experience/vision of Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld and his dedicated culinary team lead by Peruvian Executive Chef Javier Angeles-Beron.

Only sampled a few of the dishes and cocktails. Sea bass was served without a knife but was neither fork-tender nor chopstick accessible. It was not over cooked. Sea bass just needs a knife. Peruvian variation on bowls works.
The food was unbelievably good, the waiter was super nice and we got free dessert since it was my friend's birthday. Really could not have asked for a better meal
Noisy, loud music, slow service and the sushi was falling apart
I came here expecting a happy hour because their website has a happy hour menu with the days and times posted; however they are no longer doing happy hour. This wasn't what I planned as the rolls are like $20 each. They were all good, but none were so great. I will say, the cocktails were phenomenal, but they took like 15-20 mins each, and there was only 2 other parties in the restaurant. Pretty odd. Service left MUCH to be desired. Might come back if they were offering specials, but what I experienced wasn't worth it. Only recommend if you have time and dollars to burn.
Our server was sweet, accommodating knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The food was out quick and some of the best we’ve had. Wonderful place innovative but relaxed and unpretentious
Overpriced ordinary food. Friendly staff and appealing atmosphere. For what it is, one can get better value for money elsewhere.
Eh food. Overpriced. Good ambiance .
If you want to spend all your money for little to no portions of food come here if not find somewhere else
Such a terrific dinner. Went for a birthday celebration with a group of ladies and the restaurant welcomed us with open arms. The food and cocktails were fantastic and the service was great. Don't miss the mezcal pineapple cocktail and where do I begin with the foods. Top picks from our night include: chicken gyoza, salmon and tuna on crispy rice, sushi rolls (one was better than the next but the one with beef and the one with lobster on top were our favs). The honey chicken bowl was so good! Desserts were great too - the custard and the cheesecake were unusual twists on classic desserts. We will be back. Great spot.
Unfortunately the service in this restaurant was terrible. Given it was almost empty a drink order shouldn’t have taken over 30 minutes and the server barely knew what she was doing. It became frustrating at times. The food was good but not worth the frustration.
We had an amazing experience at Susheria for a date night. The food was delicious (we got the veggie gyozas, Amazon roll and tofu and eggplant nikkei bowl). Our server Ilsy was exceptional - she made excellent drink recommendations and even ordered us a dessert on the house! We will definitely be coming back.
Service was average … Food not so great.. Ambiance is beautiful..
Love Susheria because it’s such a unique concept - where else can you get Peruvian and Japanese fusion? Plus, the inside is really gorgeous. I love all the plush seating and the ambient light. The food itself tastes amazing - the chili honey chicken bowls incorporate red peppers, cilantro, and wasabi with honey chicken on a bed of rice. It’s the perfect combo - we order it every time we visit. The service is also great, as the wait staff is always very attentive.
It was great food and service, however I wish they hadn’t seated a large table of teen girls next to us. It was hard to hear my boyfriend when we were trying to have a nice night out. I wish they were more aware and didn’t seat large parties next to small tables.
Small portions too small for how much you’re paying. Waitress was forgetful and inattentive.
Sushi dinner for our daughter on first time to DC. They were completely out of sushi, and the music was too loud to understand any of the service staff.
Everything we ordered was very tasty, environment is very pleasant, service is great
Food was pricey but excellent. We shared a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all.
This was our first time at Susheria. We loved the restaurant and the energetic atmosphere. We had some difficulty ordering. We wanted sushi, and the waiter confused it with a "sushi roll". He made the correction. We also had to wait a bit for the main course. However, the food was great...we will go back.
Unfortunately the sushi was not fresh and of good quality. Service was good. Just waiter kept forgetting to bring what we asked. Asked for water 3 times. Should be standard
LOVE this place. Will become a staple for my weekends! :)
Service was a little slow but still good food and experience! Delicious pisco cocktail.
The food was mediocre as best. Nice atmosphere but the music was too loud.
Always a great time at Susheria! Loved the pink seaweed and the customer service is outstanding.
The restaurant week menu was incredible. The service and waitstaff went above and beyond. Definitely a great experience!
The service was great from start to finish, yes we belong to that loutish group of Americans who slather their sushi with wasabi and ginger, though we are perfectly aware that you are not supposed to do that, and our desires were graciously accommodated. There are a few items with interesting twists but it's not too crazy and we like that too, sometimes you feel that the kitchen is trying to be inventive just for the heck of it, but here it all made sense.
My only complaint, the tables are really very close together and we felt slightly nervous all evening, one has become used to a bit more distance. That said, we did notice the tables being scrupulously wiped down between guests. I would go again, but probably not until after covid, assuming that ever happens...
Excellent Food. Excellent Location. Excellent vibes.
Excellent!! It’s great good and very good service
Both food and drinks were bad. The sushi is the same as the one sold in Whole Foods but more expensive.
Not coming back
All in all, very good. Outstanding service. Superb meal; amazing drinks. Will be back
I had never eaten Peruvian-Japanese, and this was a lovely first experience! The sushi tasted fresh and delicious (and this is coming from someone who isn't the biggest sushi fan), and the aji de gallina was 100% a can't miss item on the menu! We sat outside, and the outdoor seating area was very cute and actually not very loud, when you consider we were next to the street. We had no trouble hearing each other or peacefully enjoying out meal. Overall a great experience and a pretty solid price for the high quality food and drinks we got! I would recommend this restaurant for anything from a casual dinner to a special date night.
a man tried to lick window while we dined, food a little pricey but good.
Food was fine, the sashimi had good salmon, Escolar and Hamachi, the tuna on the contrary was just OK.
The Ceviche was OK too.
Service was great.
What an incredible experience! We went to celebrate our anniversary, and we were not only able to be seated early but we were greeted with 2 flutes of champagne. Everything we ate was incredible, and our server had the best recommendations. Our server was so attentive and also just hilarious. We’d highly recommend Susheria to anyone - we’ll definitely be back!
Good food, slow service
Horrible meal horrible service
We really enjoyed the music and the food was really good, the only problem is that they spent a lot of time to give us food cause our waitress forgot about us
Absolute favorite sushi spot in DC! Sebastian roll is a must try!
We had absolutely excellent sashimi and Peruvian ceviche. Great place for fish lovers and the Peruvian/Japanese fusion that’s emerged from Lima Peru.
