Thought we give it a try. The service was good as well as the food. We had a party of 11 and everyone was satisfied.
Food was great but took over an hour for us to get it. Server worked hard but kitchen couldn't keep up. The manager comped the 2 meals that took even longer but the experience was ruined.
Service was very good. Our waitress had just moved down from Nassau county on Long Island (NY) and she was great. Food is just okay. Nothing great, but also not bad either. Wife and I each got a “fancy drink” as I like to call them. Hers was a strawberry sunshine and mine was called Mermaid Water. 32 oz of booze/flavored mix. Hers was decent. Mine was tough to put down. We ordered pickle chips (decent), Buffalo Cauliflower (also decent), calamari (decent), and a Ruben (just okay), a little fatty and bread wasn’t quite crunchy enough. All in all, okay meal. I would probably find another place if crowds permitted, but not the worst dining experience either.
It was so loud we couldn’t even talk amongst our table. The food was just ok. It was hot and muggy. Would not recommend.
When you cook chicken in the same oil as fish, it means the restaurant has no idea on what they are doing. Food was subpar, restaurant was dirty (don’t look up at the filthy fans), drinks were good (bottled beer).
Great spot while on vacation! Would recommend highly!
Not only was the service and staff absolutely horrendous, but the food was so utterly mediocre and borderline gross. The ambience is weird and way too dark for a beachside cafe. The whole place felt grimey, unfriendly and dirty. I will never go back and have already left negative reviews on other platforms.
The service was fantastic and the food and drinks were delicious and priced just right!
Samantha was spectacular!!!!!
We waited two hours for our food even after having a reservation and ordering quickly. Staff was rude and not accommodating. Argued with us over the bill even after they said they’d give us a discount, and were extremely immature. One waitress dug in her butt during dinner service and resumed serving. Absolutely disgusting. Food was sub par and bland. Never coming here again.
Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. The drinks and apps were good but the meals were not. It’s extremely overpriced for bar food. There was a hair in the sandwich we got. It also smelled like sewage in the entire restaurant and there was someone getting sick in one of two bathroom stalls. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Had reservation. Once order was taken had to wait for 1.25 fir food that was delivered cold.
I ordered mild bbq and received a buffalo style that was very hot
Worse experience EVER!! Our group waited an 1 hour 45 minutes for food. Definitely wasn’t worth the wait or price.. Waitress needs to re-train on Costumer service skillsz
Surfside Taphouse was an AWESOME place to have good conversation and enjoy GREAT food! Don’t understand why the reviews were not better. Everything was delicious, will be back soon!
The food was good with lots of choices. Something for everyone. The service on the other hand was slow and inattentive. Great location just off the beach to catch some lunch or dinner; just don't go if your in a hurry.
Good sports bar with decent drink specials
The food was amazing, great service
Very loud music.
We came and wanted to give some business we were a group of 18 people. It took 20 min to get water. Then drinks came then 55 min got food. The waitress copped an attitude with us when we said that most of us still didn’t get our food and could we have it Togo. Some ordered were wrong. One sandwich came back with freezing cold chicken when they took it away she brought it back threw it back in front of us and said this is what your getting because they aren’t going to make another one. They obviously microwaved the chicken sandwich to try to a warm it up!! They gave us some nachos that we said wasn’t ours and then at the end put it on another part of our groups bill....as we didn’t Jj now they had ordered them. Then we pay our bills no adjustment to all of the mess up or delay. They then don’t return two credit cards to us we had to go back to get them back from them. Overall a disaster!
We booked this place after looking at the menu online, and upon arrival when we realized it’s mainly a bar - we should have declined our reservation. But we get bad, so we stayed. Very dark place, super loud and not a space for kids to be. Awesome wait staff, but over booked with tables - food took a long time and tasted like basic bar food, would not recommend this he Cuban.
Our table wasn’t ready and it took awhile for anyone to even come to our table. We ended up leaving
It was my birthday. I had a reservation. The hostess, not even close, was extremely rude. We sat down and the bar was half empty. Ordered two appetizers and they were out of one. I was with my niece, nephew and sister. The one appetizer they did have was Sysco frozen food. We never saw food and everyone around us was served. We finally left after a hour and half. I would not go there if I were you!
Don’t take reservations if you have zero interest in seating guests that made reservations within an hour of the reservation time. Server was slammed. Had too many tables to provide service to any of them.
They do not honor reservations. The reservations that you make via open table is just for putting your name on a list. As per the hostess at the front when we arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation they told us we would need an additional 35 minutes. When told we had reservations she simply said “that the reservation was only to place our name on the list”. I did leave my name but did not dine there. I went to eat at Alatis the Greek restaurant on the north end beach. I called them and told them as per open table there was a reservation for 8:15pm and they said “sure come on in”. Got there and sat down right away. Surf side tap house should not be placed on open table. Very disappointed.
Beware!!! Making a reservation does not really make a reservation. It is first come first serve no matter if you’ve made a reservation or not.
Huge portions. Good food! Great service!
The food was great. A little pricey for the food but the food was prepared well and tastes great. Kind of noisy but okay. Overall 4 stars.
The server did NOT wear a mask and in fact jokes about it . Turn off
Didn’t matter that we had reservations, they weren’t able to seat us… No social distancing and no consideration for keeping customers safe. About 50 people hovering around the front of the restaurant.
Server was fantastic. However, with a 7:30 reservation, we didn’t get our food until after 8:30. Ridiculous delay. It was a 2+-hour adventure of mismanagement.
We had a reservation, and when we arrived, two different staff members gave the impression the reservation was basically meaningless and they said they’d “see what they could do” for us. We ended up being seated in the way back corner of the place, which the hostess apologized for before we even saw it. It ended up being pretty gross; the place is basically a dive bar (which is fine for that, I guess, but not a place I would have selected to EAT if I had known better), and something was periodically dripping from the ceiling into my husband’s head, which he didn’t tell me until after we left. It’s spring break, so the kitchen was WAY behind, and we ended up not receiving our meals for about 50 minutes. Once served, we discovered that some of the food was almost inedible. The fish in the fish tacos (ordered by both my husband and I) was tough & dry, and our daughter’s chicken and waffle sliders were cold & soggy. My husband’s recommended draft beer was stale - totally flat! To say something positive: Our other daughter liked her macaroni & cheese, and our son’s fish & chips was huge, and he liked it. The ambience of the restaurant is dark and divey, with atrociously bad live music. There was a large group of guys in their 30s and 40s there who were partying like frat boys, and at their request, the staff brought out a squeeze bottle of ketchup for them to chug at their table. This guy’s mouth was on the ketchup bottle, sucking it out. When they brought out a bottle of ketchup for our son’s fries, no one touched it - especially in the age of Covid-19, the thought of using the ketchup was even grosser than it already was after seeing that performance. I guess I would say this place might be an alright bar for partying, being rowdy, and getting drunk on Long Island iced teas and Land Shark beers — and maybe have some crappy bar food to soak up the alcohol — but we would NOT recommend it for a place for a family to eat dinner.
It was my daughter’s birthday. We tried to get reservations at a couple of other places, but they were booked with Spring Breakers. Surf side Taphouse’s food pictures on Open Table were beautiful and the reviews were good, so we booked. It was not what we were looking for. If you are 21-25 and want to drink with your frat or sorority friends, this is your place. At a table next to us, a guy chugged ketchup from the container. Everyone in the restaurant cheered when he shot ketchup out his nose. It was not the experience we were hoping for. In the end, the food was marginal for those of us who got their food. My son’s chicken and waffle sliders never came.
We went out on a Sunday night and they had amazing live music! Really fun atmosphere and the food and drinks were so good!!
If I could rate this a zero, I would - 30 min to get a drink, food took forever and was cold and the place was dirty.
It was very much an expedition to arrive at the restruant due to spring break traffic. When we arrived all I thought was great I have chosen a dive bar for dinner but it was late and alternatives were few. When we arrived we waited outside for a short time to be seated. We were seated and offered drinks pretty quickly. It was a while before our waiter returned to take our order. It did take dpmr time to get our food as it was pretty busy. They had live music. He was entertaining but I wouldn't say he was good. Overall a good experience.
TERRIBLE service, very loud, awful food and WAY TO EXPENSIVE! ! Do not go here!
Absolutely terrible service.
Family night out for birthday and it was horrible experience.
Over cooked burnt food. Ran out of drinks and had to go and find server several times during the meal.
No enforcing social distance nor were the working wearing face coverings.
Highly NOT Recommend!! Again NOT Recommened
Wasn’t expecting it to be a bar on the beach, that’s my fault though. Flatbread was burnt and my husband had little to no seafood in his seafood pasta. No shrimp at all and 2 small scallops. Very watery. Not worth $24. Would come here to have drinks but wouldn’t make a reservation for dinner again.
Never ordered. Waited and waited...finally ordered drinks and waitress never returned with our drinks. Very disorganized.
