When Surf & Sirloin opened its doors in 1994, owner Larry Karagiannis wanted to serve high quality steaks and fresh seafood at a reasonable price.
As for the seafood, Surf & Sirloin has always acquired its fish whole so the product can be inspected on site to ensure quality and integrity. Many favorites include Jumbo Shrimp Tempura (made with REAL beer batter), seared Maine Sea Scallops, Scottish Salmon & oyster’s Rockefeller.
For the steak eaters of the world, Surf & Sirloin offers a variety of different cuts. The tender Filet Mignon with classic Béarnaise is our most popular item but for those looking for more flavor; a hand- cut 14oz New York Strip or the 16oz Rib Eye is the way to go. For a mix of the two, go for the 24 ounce Porterhouse (The cut reserved for Kings).

    We’ve eaten here a number of times. The ambience is a little dated, but pleasant. Our server was very attentive and efficient. The food was reliably good.

    Until they charged me $13.50 plus a 20% gratuity on top of that for one shot of Jameson Whiskey to put in my coffee, things were okay. Keep in mind, a 750 ml bottle that has 12 shots capability only costs $22.99 at Total Wine.

    Very disappointed in our dining experience. The restaurant is outdated and overdue for a renovation. The service was good but the food lacked flavor and was bland. The acoustics were bad and the noise level from other guests was annoying. This is not the place to choose if you’re looking for an energetic or trendy dining experience.

    The wine list needs to be kept more up-to-date because I requested two different wines based on dates and both of them came out with different dates than was listed on the wine list. Everything else was a good experience.

    I don't often rate restaurants, so it is a negative experience that pushes me to take the time. That is probably pretty common, but I will provide some positive feedback, as well. We started going to this restaurant a few months ago and have probably eaten there 5 or more times. It is pricey, but almost always available, so it has been a last minute choice. We like their clam chowder and I like their shrimp tempura. Their clam chowder seems to be too salty lately. Their steaks have been ok. Our experience last night was unacceptable. We ordered clam chowder, which was too salty. I got the salmon dijon and an add-on of shrimp tempura. My wife got the filet with a twice-baked Potato. My salmon, was ok, but the Dijon topping was super salty. The shrimp were great. My wife's steak and potato were terrible. The filet had fat and gristle throughout and did not look like a fillet, at all. The twice-baked potato was dry and mostly tasteless. I took on bite from the end of the fillet, and it also had fat/gristle. We left most of the fillet, including a cut in the middle showing some fat/gristle. The waiter got the manager, who was very defensive and rude. We showed him the fat/gristle and told him that the couple of bites we took were not good. He proceeded to cut the steak into little pieces and told us there was nothing wrong with it. We told him that we had eaten better fillets at Texas Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse, at about half the price (and better management). He seemed not to care. We paid the bill (~$130 !!) and will never return. If you want a higher quality filet in the same price range, we recommend J.Gilberts. There, a manager stopped by and said, "I don't like the looks of that steak", and made us a new one. On the rare occasion we had issues, the JG manager always handled it professionally. For S&S, they now have two fewer customers.

    Tasty food and friendly service. We were seated in the bar area which was a little dark and a bit loud. I would request the window side of the dining room if I go again.

    The cod proved superb as did the steak & level of rare that my family member enjoys--perfection. Also, family member noted just how wonderful the octopus tasted! Great place, warm atmosphere!

    It is always a treat to dine at Surf & Sirloin. The familiar menu items are always exellant as are the specials. The octopus appetizer is delicious. The drinks are generous pours. The family tradition of fine dining is continued by the brothers.

    Surf and Sirloin was a great meal! What a great surprise in the landscape of chain steakhouses! This place had great food at a fair price and the staff went above and beyond. I would definitely eat here again!

    Short staffed, borderline dirty with dated decor. Food was good, but after waiting more than an hour we only were able to eat a crab cake, toasted ravs and bread- during this time we signaled we were ready to place our order, but our waiter would hurry off to another busy table. We ultimately decided to leave since we figured it’d be at least another 1.5 to get our entrees and finish our meal. I’m extremely sympathetic to a short staffed restaurant- especially the server staff. They’re doing the best they can with what the have. But never once did anyone at the restaurant acknowledge the situation. We politely asked for the check and received an extremely awkward, almost confused look. To add insult to injury, we noticed an up charge on our sodas ($5 per coke). All in, I spent $80 and nearly an hour and a half for two sodas, a cocktail, 1 crab-cake, toasted ravs and the table bread. I’ll never return here again.

    Everything I've ever eaten there has been prepared with care and attention, and presented with artistic flair. They don't hide their meat with a layer of salt and pepper; they're good cuts, and delicious! Excellent, friendly service too!

    We return to Surf & Sirloin because the food is superior to many places. They have fresh seafood, fish, and very good beef. Service is always good and attentive. Tom has been our waiter recently and he is knowledgeable of the intricacies of the food choices. Occasionally, the noise level may be moderate. That only happens if there is a large, boisterous group.

    Waiter was excellent! My husband had steak which was very good. I had Lobster it was not fresh but frozen, overcooked and chewy.... I should have ordered the Grouper special!

    Our server did a great job. Very attentive, quick and friendly. The food, however, was subpar. I paid $51 for the scallop dish. Although the scallops had great flavor, they were over cooked and served on a broken sauce. Half of the scallops were falling apart before they hit the table. The twice baked potato was dry and lacked salt. My Dad had the ribs special, again, good flavor but very dry. I understand that it was a busy service for the kitchen (Father’s Day) but anyone paying over $300 for a meal deserves it to be done right. I had two lemon drop martinis and they were delicious. Over all the experience was fun for my family but the food needs more attention. I will probably not be coming back for the food anytime soon.

    I expected more from this restaurant. The noise level was insanely high. The food was disappointing. The scallops and sauce had a weird taste. I tried 2 and couldn’t eat the rest. Explained this to the waitress and she charged me for the 2 I ate. The crab cakes had more breading than crab meat…limited menu provided on Fathers Day vs the regular menu. I will not return.

    We eat at this restaurant quite a bit, but did not have the best meal this past experience. I don’t think anyone in our group will go back or will plan another dinner group event there. We have always liked their house salad and dressing; however our house salads were so tiny compared to normal and contained so much salad dressing that they tasted like a lettuce leaf amidst a deviled egg. Several people in our group had steaks or seafood, which were all just ok. The twice baked potato sides were very dry and needed some sort of add-on to be edible. Service was just ok. There were lots of people working , just not at our table. For those eating regular baked potatoes and/or bread, they had to ask for butter. A server came by carrying a bowl of sour cream and proceeded to place it onto the regular potatoes before anyone had any butter on the potatoes. I’ve eaten here multiple times and had a great experience, but this time not so much. I wish I would not have recommended it to our group.

    First time trying this place and we were very surprised to see the parking lot about 2/3 empty on Father's Day. Upon entering the restaurant, even more surprised to see most of the tables empty. Since we had reservations, we decided to go ahead and give it a try, big mistake. The prices were extremely high and they automatically added 20% gratuity. There were two of us and the bill for two meals, one beer, and one Margarita was just over $221. Wouldn't have minded paying that if the quality and taste of the food would have been up to par. Both my husband and myself were adding salt and pepper to our steaks as there was no flavor at all. We ate enough to satisfy our hunger and took the rest home so we could add some seasoning. Basically tasted as if they took the meat out of the package and threw it in a pan. Will not be returning to this spot.

    We have been coming here for a number of years, and this may have been the best visit we’ve had.  The table we requested was waiting for us.   the drinks were great. The food orders were correct and very good. Our waitress Erica was outstanding.

    Owner/Chef was not pleasant at all.I just wanted to share my experience on OUR food and he came to us already hostile. WAITER WAS GREAT. I could have made a scene but because it was my fiance birthday we left.. If you have weight loss surgery not a friendly place to eat.

    Ordered bernaise sauce with my filet mignon but it did not come when entree was served. I had to wait 10-15 min for chef to make it. Green beans were excellent, cooked and not overly crisp.
