Our restaurant is open for dinner everyday starting at 5pm. We proudly serve beautifully presented Lebanese dishes, cocktails and have the largest list of Chateau Musar wines in Philadelphia!
Our garden is open! Stop in today and enjoy the warmth and culture of Suraya.
My husband and I visited Suraya while on a mini-vacation to Philly where we used to live nearly a decade ago. A lot has changed in Fishtown and all across this city; but one thing remains- a commitment to great food, great design and a vibrancy that buzzes across the city. Now onto the experience at Suraya:
The staff were warm, authentic and lacking pretense. Always a good sign. They were attentive but not overly so.
It was soooo good. Baba ganoush (sp?) was outstanding. Had pomegranate on top and was added to a perfect mix of savory/smoky eggplant. Then I got this flatbread with long hot peppers and an egg plus labneh. My husband got a chicken wrap that was great. But the fries with sumac/ z’ataar spice were the standout!
My husband had a Lebanese beer that he said was super flavorful. I was under the weather and didn’t want to drink alcohol so I had a very tasty ginger beer drink served in a Moscow mule hammered metal cup.
We sat across from the open kitchen and watched the open wood fire burn. The design, lighting and mosaic bar were beautiful. We also picked up a few treats in the market.
The Taste of Suraya was well worth it for a first time visitor and allows you to really sample a good portion of the menu.
Absolutely phenomenal! Wouldn't change a single thing. Possibly the best meal I've ever had in my life.
This was my husband and my first time here. We had heard so many great things and finally landed a reservation. Since we wanted to try it all we decided on 6 Mezza plates. We opted for the Hummous and Baba Ganoush as our cold plates and then went with Fried Kibbeh (beef and bulgar dumplings), Fatar Meshwi (grilled mushrooms), Batata Harra (crispy potatoes) and of course the Warak Enab ( stuffed grapes leaves) for our hot dishes. All of them were amazing. My favorite was the Baba Ganouch followed by the Kibbeh and Batata harra tied for second. I opted for the Builder of Bridges cocktail and it was delicious. Hubby went with the Lebanese Lager and it was tasty. Our server was very nice and explained the dishes to us. It is dark and with a full crowd a bit loud but we figured that going in. I can't wait to come back with some friends and try more of the right side of the menu!
This was our first visit to Suraya. We loved the food and the physical setting was very beautiful. Everyone was attentive and kind. Can't wait to come back and eat outside.
Food was excellent!
We had a fabulous time celebrating our anniversary at Suraya. The food was great as always. The ambiance really set the mood for our special day. Thank you Suraya!
Everything about Suraya is lovely. It's beautiful, the cocktails are interesting and perfectly balanced and the food is to die for. Get the Fatteh you won't regret it.
Wonderful food and ambiance - I will be coming back again and again !
Excellent small dishes for Sunday brunch. Sat in the back room, where noise is less.
Loved the service and food. Amazing mezzes. Only thing lacking was vegetarian entrees. I would encourage the chef to add two vegetarian options as entrees (not just cold and hot appetizers). Will definitely return!
Me and my husband went to Suraya on a Saturday evening for dinner with another couple. All four of us had a fantastic time, due to the peak time we were seated a bit later than our reservation time. The staff was apologetic about it and were very considerate later on. They gave us complimentary drinks, couple appetizers and a dessert to make up for it. The food was really awesome, flavors were bursting in our mouths. Definitely coming back again
Celebrated husband's birthday and we had a wonderful meal and time. The tastes were complex and simple and all wonderful to experience. Hope to be back soon.
Wonderful cuisine and ambiance - very enjoyable experience. Wine list is priced high, lowest priced bottle was $63. Server was great, and added to the evening.
Overrated. Place looks nice, but the poor overall design makes it very loud - almost like a cafeteria. They put large tables with small tables, so if you're dining as 2 - there's no intimacy at all. Price of the food is out of control. We only went because we had a gift card, but there's no chance I'd pay $15 for a falafel sandwich. And why was my mimosa in a large wine glass.. to make it appear even smaller than it was? That one's on the bartender..
Great food, wonderful presentation, courteous staff. I will definitely come again.
Fantastic meal all the way through
Two words...TASTING MENU! If you’re a first timer or tenth timer for that matter this is for sure the way to go to allow you to get a lot of the mezzas. The labne, fatteh, turmeric rice, kanafeh, & tehina hot chocolate were amazing and I am still dreaming of them almost a week later! Our server Zack was so great throughout the whole meal and made our meal really enjoyable!
One of the best meals we’ve ever had! The tasting menu is a great value.
Food was very flavorful. Hummus was the best I’ve had in the city. My husband and I got the kebabs. They were tasty, but a little pricey for ground meat. Waitress was also nice but extremely slow.
Amazing !! We did the 56$ tasting menu and was amazing
Ok but not amazing. Definitely expected more because of all the hype surrounding this place. Hummus was amazing, but definitely not a place to go if you want plain, simple food. Lots of spices and food very salty.
The food was delicious, a little pricey for the portions but wonderful fresh flavors. The service was good but too attentive, asking every 5min how the meal is, is too often.
Nina was an awesome server!! The food was outstanding! Highly recommend !!!
Everything was great from top to bottom. Brandon was a wonderful server and the kitchen crushed it. Every course was just phenomenal.
My go to place for everything from brunch to dinner or just a yummy cocktail!
Definitely do the tasting menu, if you can! The food was divine. The ambience is lovely, except a tad too dark.
After our second visit to Suraya, I feel confident in my assessment - this restaurant is a huge addition to Fishtown, to Philly, and, indeed, to the region. The food is as delicious as it is beautiful, the atmosphere is thoughtfully conceived and beautifully maintained, the service is warm, intelligent, and very competent. I highly commend the tasting menu, which is full of stunning savories, and, if you've not already, order the Kanefeh. It is perfection: salty, sweet, unctuous, cheesey, crispy, and floral. That the restaurant is so young and so clearly firing on all cylinders is astonishing and a credit to all those charged with bringing it to life daily. I've only visited in the winter - we can't wait to come back in the summer and experience the garden. Bravi tutti!
Awesome restaurant! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. This was my first experience with Lebanese food so I am not sure if it is as traditional as the waiter said it was, but it was great food nonetheless. I got the Lebanese Chai Latte and it was so good and very beautiful.
Excellent food and very good service, way to dark and a bit noisy with tables way to close to one another. Everything we ate was excellent. I'd highly recommend for a date night.
Great food, gracious service.
I wish they had more breakfast options. Yogurts, pastries were phenomenal, but only 1 egg option meant 6 people in a party of 7 ordered the same thing.
Food was good but their customer service needs work. Don't go there early in hopes of having a drink at the bar. If you go near the bar you will be chased away quickly by at least 3 staff members. They use the bar for flow over, this way they can serve more dinners. The front/hostess staff were rude and socially inept.
I grew up in the Detroit area, which boasts one of the largest Middle Eastern populations in the country, and has the BEST Lebanese food around. I have been searching for the same quality since I moved here 16 years ago, and have finally found it. The food was simply amazing-each dish more delicious than the next. We both had the tasting menu, which allowed up to have several dips and appetizers, and an entree and dessert. The Baba ganoush had a smoky taste to it, and was simply divine! The tabbouleh, not usually one of my favorites, was absolutely amazing-fresh, tasty, and delicious. Do not get me started on the fattoush salad! My husband's all time favorite salad from his time in Detroit and we finally found one that not only compares to that in my hometown, but surpasses it. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly! We already made our next reservation.
Beautiful, large space with friendly, helpful staff and incredible food. I highly suggest getting the tasting menu, for $58 you get dips and pita for the table and each person selects and item from the mezza, the mains, and dessert. Though all the food was superb, definitely get a lamb entree. The coffee and chocolate dessert was spectacular and a must-try for anyone who enjoys good coffee and chocolate! I cannot wait to go again.
Outstanding flavors in all the food that is served! Everything is delicious!! This our third visit. Love the ambiance though it is a bit loud. Go and enjoy!
