Sur Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Went there for my birthday, we got sat down right away after checking in for our reservation. I must say i was very disappointed in the seating arrangement, although it was a table for two, it was just too crowded, tables bunched up next to each other, we had to walk sideways just to get to our table and when we sat down it literally felt like you were sitting a long side to the next table, I can hear their conversation as I’m sure they heard ours, they sat us In the back right corner where it was also very awkward to have a huge plant vase literally leaning into our table, other than that the food and drinks were amazing, I would definitely come back, with my fingers crossed that they fix the dining seating area!
We came to this restaurant partly due to my addiction to VPR. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, although more for the novelty than the food.
The first thing I have to say is just how fantastic the service was. I definitely wasn’t expecting the servers to be so genuinely sweet, attentive, and caring. We had Georgina as our waitress and she was sensational - got us everything super quickly and constantly checked on us. We also had Jeremy, who was a really lovely, attentive and easy going - and notably very humble and unassuming considering he’s a regular on the show. All credit to the staff too - people are constantly asking for photos and they’re really graceful about it. Peter, James, Ken and Tom were all happy to do so with a number of patrons I saw.
The ambience is quite cool - though at times the noise level was such that it wasn’t conducive to conversation. It wasn’t too bad though, and to be fair, my partner’s hearing sucks.
The food was a mixed bunch. It came out really quickly, which is a testament to the efficiency of the kitchen. I LOVED the goats cheese balls, but 3 just isn’t enough. The accompanying salad could do with a bit of plastic surgery too. My partner had the Gf penne with chicken and was pleased with the portion size and taste. I had the pumpkin soup and chips - the soup was a bit bland for my tastes but the chips were a good size.
The sangria was great! Prices are pretty much what you’d expect in WeHo, though I’d look at the goats cheese balls in light of the portion sizing.
Overall, an enjoyable evening made by the friendly and attentive staff.
Amazing meal, excellent service. Staff were so amazing at answering questions about all the cast of the show etc. Whilst we were there Max was serving tables near us, Peter was managing and very visible and James and Tom came through the bar and took photos with plenty guests which was amazing. Had a Big Pinky & white Sangria which both lived up to our expectations of something created by LVP! From a massive fan thanks for making our experience what we dreamed of as this was one thing on our LA bucket list after travelling all the way Australia!
Let’s deal with elephant in the room, yes this restaurant appears on a reality show and yes some of the people on the reality show actually work here. While, there might be a tv show related to this restaurant, the food is delicious, the kitchen is quick, and the servers are actually really good at their jobs.
The food was excellent. The service was poor. We had to ask for everything...water, appetizers, main course, wine. Meaning we sat so long looking for our waiter and had to flag him down to to place an order. At one point he was busy taking pictures with another diner’s dog. We wanted dessert too but waited so long we ended up leaving before ordering it. Guess we shouldn’t be that surprised...we have watched the show and know the restaurant doesn’t hire based on intelligence and quality of service!!
Sur was great! The vibe is super cool. It’s super dark so hard to take pictures. Max, our server, was aweosme! We had him surprise us with one of our entrees and appetizers! The filet is to die for! And the Vanderpump Rose is amazing! And open table makes it so easy to get a table! No calling just a quick sec on your phone.
I had the sea bass and it was delicious. My son had Alfredo but he didn't like it, said it was bland. The bathrooms are gender neutral and the seats were really yucky for a girl. Overall it was ok. I love Lisa and the show and I guess I had higher expectations.
From top to bottom, A+. We had our 12yr old daughter with us and the staff was amazing with her. Our waiter was Gabriel and he was top notch, great attitude and very courteous. Always kept our glasses full and the food was amazingly great. We will be back soon for sure since this was our first time eating at SUR.
Underwhelmed by the entire experience. Our table wobbled and they refused to help fix it. The food was overpriced. Could tell the ravioli was previously frozen, did not contain any crab meat or lobster. If it did, that’s alarming because it tasted like a frozen lean cuisine. Wine glasses were water goblets. Service was mediocre.
I didn’t like the fact that on my birthday I am sat outside in the corner at a tiny table with my boyfriend. I was just such a big upset for wanting to go there for five years now. I was uncomfortable especially being on the other side of a window where we saw people having the most amazing time. Very disappointed but our waiter was the only great thing about the night!
The food was amazing!!! Service was ok? I didn’t understand the bread basket “ raisin bread?” When I ordered my champagne it wasn’t that cold, both times! That was a little disappointing , but I’m not holding it against them. Things happen, move on and eat and enjoy the beautiful ambiance!!! Fun place to hang out!!!
All the staff was gracious and professional. The happy hour prices cannot be beat! My steak was cooked to medium rare as I asked and was tasty but not the highest quality I was expecting. The French fries were disappointing and lacked taste. The portabella mushroom appetizer was outstanding and had depth of flavor and the presentation was very nice. Our waiter was attentative until our dinner was served and then did not return for about a half hour. I had to flag him down for some ice water, which he said he would bring but never did.
Service was good, my son ordered the angel hair pasta and got some other kind of pasta. The server was quick to make it right and he even got to take the other pasta with him for later. Also got a picture with Peter, the high light of the evening for me. He was very gracious to all the fans letti g them get pictures with him. I also appreciated seeing Max actually working as well. Props to Mrs Lisa for instilling a work ethic into her son.
I took my best friend here for her 25th birthday tonight. I've been to SUR before and had a wonderful time. Tonight however, was a little odd.
We had Peter as our server which was really fun since my best friend and I enjoy watching VP Rules. Since it was her birthday, we decided to splurge and order three appetizers, two entrees, two desserts and some drinks to share. Peter was slightly awkward and made us feel uncomfortable that we ordered so much! It's her birthday for goodness sakes and her first time here! Why not go all out?! All of the food was delicious still, no complaints there!
The other odd situation that happened, was that my best friend and I went to use the restroom right after we gave Peter our dessert order. When we returned to our table, no more than 5 minutes later, our entire table had been cleaned and cleared. Our unfinished, $12 mojitos....gone! Our $8 bottled water...gone! The busser said he thought we had left. Why dude, why? We had literally just placed our dessert order! Did you think we would leave without paying?? It was absolutely bizarre and again, made us feel uncomfortable. Kindly, he did replace our $12 drinks, but did not replace our water, give us anymore water in general, nor give us silverware and napkins. For a $200 birthday night, we expected so much more.
I'd probably return, but not for any special occasion like my best friend's birthday again.
Food was very disappointing. Appetizers came out cold and when entrees came out, sides were cold. Drinks were good and service was ok. Servers were at a separate table counting their tips and eating. Shouldn’t be visible to guests. I was very excited to dine here, but sadly this will be my first and only time.
The atmosphere was the best part of the experience..just gorgeous except for the bathroom which was dirty and dingy. The drinks were really good (had an Espresso Martini and a Big Pinky) but the $15 price point was a little rough.
The food was good but nothing outstanding. Loved the goat cheese balls but $11 for 3 (they were smaller than golf balls) was laughable. I had the chicken piccata which had a good sauce but the chicken was dry.
Overall we had fun at SUR, especially seeing some bravolebrities, but after dinner drinks at PUMP were even better. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was better than SUR.
My wife and I visiting from Australia, and were very excited to eat at SUR and to our surprise it was a massive let down. First of all, after being told the cast only go in to shoot, it felt very fake. We sat down and waited for a long time to be asked for drinks then the wrong bottle of wine came and when showing me the label, her hand was covering the lable, then the server opened it and managed to pour it all over the table so she used my napkin to clean it and didn't bring another. Got that sorted, then waited a long time and had to ask to order food. Appetizers came and the calamari was very chewy, did not like it at all and had to ask for cutlery when mains came which I ordered a rib eye and my wife ordered tuna. What I was given was not a rib eye. It looked like a sloppy, fatty, cheap 1min steak that was horrible. I asked about it and got told a lie which the server claimed it was boneless rib eye, the cut was completely wrong, I eat rib eye, I know what it is. So ate half. I had asked for some mustard, never came. Not once did anyone fill up wine or act like they cared. Our waitress just flat out did not want to be there, couldn't have cared less.
Very disappointed, service was horrible, food was horrible and not what I ordered, the tuna was something I could have cooked at home and cooked it better. I catch fresh calamari and sorry to say, it wasn't fresh. Will not be going back.
