About Supper Restaurant

Supper is The Third restaurant from the Frank crew. Here Frank has taken his favorite classic dishes from all over the north of italy and coupled them with a space that reeks Old East Village charm. Wine wine and more Italian Wines than any other east village restaurant. Think lots of brick and stone low lighting and a handinstalled Florentine wood ceiling pictured in the last supper. Old Venetian glass hanging chandeliers and it's all just a setting for a whirling swirling kitchen center stage. Yeah...Veal Milanese (proper), Bolognese out the... You guessed it. OUT DA BUTT. Beef short ribs BAROLO, yup. Freshest salads and MOZZ, SPECK, FALL PARM SALAD, BURRATA, spag limone!!! Yeah... Spag cacio pepe, Bagna Caoda, Osso buco, BOLLITO MISTO, Risotto Amarone, Arista di maiale, Dad's SUNDAY MARINARA SAUCE, chunky and ripped with fresh ricotta cheese.

Frank is the most genuine New Yorker in Manhattan. He wants you to connect with his restaurants and food. Follow his social media on Instagram or Snapchat to see it for yourself. He puts it all out there, because you deserve honesty and quality. Enjoy!

There have been some unsolicited changes at what was our go to bar/restaurant. We would typically leave our name with one of the awesome ladies out front at the restaurant. Then head to the bar stage right for some therapeutic times with the sexy and well rounded Kat What’s cool about this place is you can always find a great food experience. However, I can find that at dozens of spots throughout the city. This place has an eclectic group of staff which are each one more interesting and spectacular than the next. From hostess to the level mannered chef showing off behind clear plexi for all to be in awe of. I’ve been an avid fan of this place for over a decade. The bar is now renovated into extended seating for the restaurant. No place to hang and get to meet people. I’m not happy with the change. I will continue to give patronage but it may not be as often as we have in the past. That bar, like most is an important part of the flavor of a place. This great place included. At least you can still fellowship with the fab Kat. That better continue. More changes could leave this place out in the cold like customers are now waiting for seating. Snows coming.

Pasta is unrivaled. Highly recommend the octopus appetizer special! Great restaurant but very close seating so naturally it gets loud and hectic. Come for the food not the ambiance.

Had been to Supper once many years ago and had fond memories (how did they get such fantastic tomatoes in the middle of winter?) and was glad when a friend decided to have her birthday dinner here.

Overall, it was a nice experience but nothing special. A friend and I arrived early and checked in with the hostess and since the policy is to only seat only when the entire party has arrived, we were directed to the bar, which is next door. One would have expected the hostess to tell the rest of our party where we were but it was only by repeatedly sticking our head out the front of the bar that we realized they'd come.

We were seated in the front room, which being next to the open kitchen has constant commotion. The back room is highly preferable, if a little bright. They provide bread and some garlicky chickpeas in oil (very good). We split roasted octopus, roasted garlic crostini, and veal meatball appetizers (good). Entrees were tagliatelle with ragu, "Priest Stanglers", Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, and Chicken Parm (all good). We also ordered sautéed broccoli, which came steamed - very mild but underdone. We split the Banana Split (never my favorite but this was fantastic) and the Valhrona Chocolate Cake (good).

Our waitress was very pleasant and reasonably attentive. Definitely not pushy, she nonetheless didn't grasp that a group of friends might just want to talk a few minutes before reading the menu. Anyway, the ambiance, as noted, was "lively" but not oppressive and not overly loud. Our food and a bottle of wine came to $75 each, which is certainly reasonable for what we got.

The food and service were fine. We were seated in the back room which was lively but so loud we couldn't communitcate with each other. At all. So loud our ears were ringing when we left and got on the "quiet" sidewalk. Maybe other rooms contain noise better.

Great place and great food. The pappardelle was fantastic, great bread, great white bean dipping oil, delicious barrata. The panna cotta, though usually one of my favorite desserts, was just okay.

Not at the level of quality we expected. The food was mixed, a couple of dishes were enjoyable and a couple probably should have been sent back -- too much salt. However, the largest issue was the service. Not a good experience -- it was borderline rude. The simple act of refilling water glasses became a risky proposition as the waiter reached over one of use to fill another's glass. Finally, the first two wines we selected from their favorites list were not available and the recommended replacements were both 2X the price - that's not listening to your customer.

The food is incredible, and it should've been a 5 star meal, but the service was definitely lacking. For our party of 6, which we noted multiple times was celebrating a birthday, appetizers were brought out separately over the course of (not exaggerating) over 10 minutes. So we were stuck with most but not all of our appetizers sitting on the table waiting for the last to arrive to start eating. Then, when ordering dessert, we explicitly reminded our waiter that it was a birthday celebration. They were kind enough to bring out an extra dessert, along with a candle, and sing, again about 5-10 minutes after the ordered desserts were brought out. This lead to us all discussing "do they know it's his birthday? Did he hear? Should we just sing ourselves?" - I have never in my life seen it done this way. Overall, my recommendation would be to come in a smaller group and not for a special occasion. You will likely have a great time.
