Supernormal - City Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful experience at Supernormal, the food was so good that my partner kept complimenting the whole experience whilst devouring the beautiful food. Service was impeccable, four stars for ambience as it was quite noisy, however, that’s to be expected when the restaurant is full house, a testament to its popularity. Well done for recognising the importance of both good food and service for an overall excellent experience.
We had the $69 Tasting Menu as we were a party of 6.
The menu read well and the food presentation and taste matched.
The serving sizes were more than adequate, and the feature lamb dish was an extremely generous serve.
Extensive wine list with quite a few reasonably priced options.
The wait staff were fantastic.
The venue was big, and therefore very noisy.
Supernormal has always been a favourite but was utterly disappointed this time and the last. Food and service were terrible. The lamb with flat bread was dry and sauceless. The entree was uncooked bok choy and raddish. Very disappointing as I have been here a number of times however won't be going back.
I heard about this place, it didnt dissapoint just very noisy and i am not a fan of tables to close togeather as i dontt want to listen to someone elses conversation. The food was very fresh and brought out at good intervals. It was inovative and good looking. The beef tarare exeptional.
Pleasant welcome, very good service without being obsequious, not too noisy despite size and decor, and above all tremendously interesting and very tasty food. We loved the lobster rolls and the whole fish above all, but it was all delicious. A glass of wine is a bit pricey, but four of us had plenty of food, dessert, and wine for about $60 each. Have been twice and will go again.
I didn't find the food unusual. We had the Szechuan chicken salad, Caviar starter, Chilli Dumplings, Duck Bao, Lobster roll. They were all really average. The best were the chicken salad and caviar we had at the start. But the Duck Bao and Lobster roll was a complete let down. It was recommended by the waitress as the best and popular dishes. But the duck is dry and pretty much tasteless. The Lobster roll was something I can get at a food court, nothing special again. The price is too expensive for what they offered. I won't be going back again.
Visited Supernormal for a Sunday lunch. Love the relaxed, comfortable feel of this place. I would return to try more dishes. Sashimi was fresh, wagyu beef bun served with hot and very juicy. New England lobster roll - dressing is a little bit too much that overpower the lobster. Staffs are friendly and service is great.
The stand out food in melbourne - the peanut butter parfait was so good went back just for it and bought the cookbook so we could make it (or try to!) in London. The staff on both occasions were super and so helpful. Thank you Bridget and Bobby! Go, go, go!
we had a lovely experience, although we ate too much! Food was excellent and so many different flavours. Wine was great and well priced. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were on a time line with a show to get to and everything was perfectly timed. Would like to come back and spend longer enjoying the food.
