Sidewalk dining with some street music. Heaters work ok. Excellent food, quality and taste. Also, great value.
Turney and Safran did it again. Magic. The food and drinks were amazing. The service as always was perfect.
Yum! Really great.
South Street Souvlaki is better
Amazing food!!!!
Loved the food! So sad this is not a permanent restaurant. I was told it was a pop-up and would only be here a few weeks.
Creative presentation of standards with a few playful twists, not the usual taverna fare you might find at a generic Greek restaurant. We just ordered starters and small plates to go with happy hour drinks but little touches that stood out were the quality of the tzatziki sauce served with perfectly cooked, tender, lightly dusted calamari. Also the dolmades which came with mostly lamb rather than the usual rice and the pickled vegetable garnishes. The cheese in the saganaki special was excellent and the bread which arrived with the charred eggplant was pillowy and warm, not ordinary pita bread.
Everything was So good and tasty! I got the octopus & chicken skewers and the my drink was delicious I got the Lemon tree I will definitely be back!
The whole bronzino and rice pudding was delicious.
Our server did not offer any suggestions on # of plates per person, which seems fairly commonplace now esp when items are presented as appetizers, small plates and large plates. We order the Spartan Sampler for dips - it was myself, my husband and our 4YO son. The 3 dip sampler with warm pita was HUGE and the highlight of the meal. Next came the eggplant fries which were just ok. The skewers (chicken and lamb) were solid and the hummus and other dips were good. At this point, all three of us were nearly full. We ordered two large plates (pastitsio and moussaka) were just barely OK. We really were excited to try Super Spartan and hope the chefs consider making some changes to bring the us back.
Great food and fun atmosphere would definitely go again!
An absolutely stunning experience! The octopus and calamari are out of this world!
Food is excellent
Made another reservation already to eat there again
The food was much better than what I expected. Pita bread was very good, a bit fluffier than usual, and warm. Everybody enjoyed their entrees. Lamb was cooked perfectly. Desserts were good, though rice pudding was still a bit cold (it was supposed to be warm). Service was adequate, not extremely friendly, just did the job well. We sat outside, not the prettiest street, but not bad either, and the lamp kept us warm for most of the night. The restaurant is not in the busiest section, so it wasn't too loud.
Great food, great service.
Cute pop up from Safran Turney Hospitality. Loved the Spartan plate. The feta dip was so good. The branzino was also great. Everything was delicious and staff were very friendly. Interior was clean. Recommended!
Came for happy hour which was a steal. $5 for an easy drinking red wine. Had to have 2. The eggplant dip was a nice accompaniment.
This is now one of my favorite places to eat in Philly! I urge anyone who loves greek food to go try.
I loved every thing I tried so far and I can not wait to try new dishes!
The yogurt marinated chicken and the lamb skewer were ver tender and tasty. The soul salad was very refreshing and the beet spread was great. They serve hot fresh pita bread with food .
Food was great! Everything we had we really enjoyed. Service was a little slow as the restaurant got busier, but otherwise we really enjoyed ourselves.
Super Spartan was absolutely delicious! My husband and I had been craving some good Greek food like we had in actual Greece and this restaurant did not disappoint! We tried a few different things and all of it was good! Highly recommend
All things considered this might be one of the best things to come out of all of this covid mess in the restaurant world. The ladies of 13th street never disappoint and this is another hit. Food was just like we had when we ate our way through the greek islands (however the octopus while tender and well cooked was a bit salty). A selection of Greek wines & cocktails were the perfect compliment to the dinner. Ordered half the menu and enjoyed it all. Doing what they can to get through all of this, the staff was working hard and as attentive as possible. I hope all restaurants are able to survive this but especially this one. I would vote for this pop up to remain after all is said and done this year but I am biased as a prior lover of pretty much all Greek foods. A must try for 2020 and hopefully all have the same great experience we did! Stay safe & healthy!
We ate outside on a Monday night and were the only diners at the restaurant. The service was great, food was fabulous. It’s in the old Jamonera space so we were sitting on 13th street - nothing special about that. Would have been nicer if they made the effort to create a more inviting outdoor seating area like the other restaurants on the block. But go for the food!
Food was delicious! We love the local Greek restaurants and this did not disappoint! The dips were amazing and had so much flavor! Kudos! I hope it stays!
It was great, and the bonus is, it's on the quietest part of the open street!
Such a great outdoor dining experience! Dips were amazing, pita tasted fresh and the salad with the chicken skewer was fabulous
Terrifice good, and our server was great. We did outside seating, so hard to judge "ambience" per se, but we had a nice time.
The food was delicious and service was fantastic. The only slightly negative thing was that the Keftedes entree was more like an Italian style meatball than true Greek Keftedes. The pita was fluffy and delicious and the chicken skewers were fantastic. Also, a big fan of the spicy feta.
Delicious, thoughtful, elevated shore food! Can't wait to be back (although I also can't wait for Jamonera to return. . .)
Food and service was excellent I will definitely be returning in the future!
Great way to end "summer" - with an excellent lobsta roll.
Food was great, good value for the money and our waitress was sweet and efficient.
Only noise issue was possible street performer(?) singing too loud to the whole block of outdoor diners.
Delicious! It is strange sitting out on the sidewalk close to the street, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do during the time of COVID, so I get it. Food was fantastic however and I def recommend checking them out!
outdoor eating for right now, but you can people watch.
the service was great, the food was so good and a nice spacing of time between each course.
did i mention how delicious the food was?!
I hear Salty's is closing to become another pop-up restaurant. Too bad. The concept was fun and the execution was done well. Good food. City street repairs were the only negative.
Great deal for $35!
Overall an okay experience. Before I go on, this is a Covid-19 review. We sat outside and had more than one person ask us for help. This didn't bother me but my dining partner was visibly upset. NONE of the struggling souls were abusive and I was NOT upset. Now, on to the food. Salty's took that name to heart! Unfortunately, we ordered the exact same meal. I was so disappointed in us. I wanted to swap a little and get a taste of a couple things. You could tell from the first bite, the meal had potential. After that, just salt. I never drank so much water. The server was very nice and I think the chef having a lighter touch, would have made the experience very enjoyable. I'm giving three stars for the potential. I could almost taste it.
Great friendly server, good for restaurant week! Loved the Lobster roll and gazpacho the most!
I waited for nearly 30 minutes before my order was taken.
Limited menu but wonderful seafood that will remind you of the shore.
Great food and so nice to be outside
My wifes food was good but I have had better lobster rolls in the city.
