Sunset Catch Restaurant
Fri, Sat 5:00 pm–11:00 pm
Food was cold when served
Beautiful outside raised patio. The service was attentive without being obstructive and the food was great!
Family out of town visiting
Great food and service. Never disappointed. Have eaten here many times and it is always on our list to visit.
First time there , will not be my our last, very nice plate presentation, and very tasty
Living in Miami I don't come to Pompano very often. Tonight I decided to visit Sunset Catch (45 minutes) and I regret it.
We arrived at 7PM and sat outside. Kenny was our waiter, I think he needs a hearing aid. My boyfriend ordered an alcoholic drink then said "we will start with the grilled octopus". The drink came shortly after. 30 minutes later Kenny came by with my steak knife (which he gave to my boyfriend) and my boyfriend asked about our appetizer. Kenny says he did not hear our order. We finally receive our grilled octopus without much apology from Kenny.
Entree: My boyfriend ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was salty; I ordered Lamb Chops which were bland.
Kenny did not offer anything for the extremely long appetizer wait and he came by to retrieve our check before we finished signing (the bill came to $140 with tip).
Overall the experience was below average and I will not be returning.
Disappointed that after waiting over 1 hour for our entrees, one of them was covered in lemon juice which my husband can’t eat. The menu didn’t mention lemon. They refunded the cost of the entree. We didn’t feel like waiting longer for something else, so hubby watched me eat my salmon portofino which was very good. We both enjoyed the stellar sweet potato fries.
Mixed reactions on food:
Grilled octopus app on arugula first served pretty raw; grilled more tasted like mayo. The Caesar greens were crisp & fresh. Entree excellent whole red snapper de-boned, lightly battered & flash fried - really delicious!
Loved the restaurant; however I would be curious if the band (who was very good) was only for Halloween or is always there. I would suggest not putting speakers on the outdoor patio. That way, customers can choose the level of noise. I was there for a business dinner and sat outside; it was very difficult to hear. We did stay after the business dinner concluded and danced. All in all, I would book this restaurant fir an evening if dinner and dancing but not for business or romance.
Had a great time! The music of The Fusion Band keeps everyone on their feet. The food is always presented beautifully and very tasty. Atmosphere is beautiful inside and outside overlooking the intracoastal.
Beautiful spot on the water, fantastic place to watch the boats go by and see the sun set. Food was excellent and the server was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back and will bring our friends!
Always good food and professional wait staff !
Great outdoor seating overlooking the marina and intracoastal waterway.
I have dined many times at this seafood/Italian place. The owners are from Italy, but were no where to be seen last night. Both the service and food were horrendous and so disappointing from the moment we arrived to the end. My reservations clearly requested an outdoor table. Upon arrival I was asked "indoor or outdoor" (obviously no one reviewed the reservations). Only 2 of the 20 outdoor tables were occupied (i.e. place was empty). The waitress never smiled ONCE thru out the night, and i felt we were a burden to her. I asked if the mozzarella starter was like a creamy burrata, she replied yes. What arrived was a small hard clump (literally 4 bites) of a plain tasting white cheese (definitely not worth the $12). Then came the $28 fettuccine with scallops and crab. Fettuccine was way overcooked (i have just returned from Rome and Napoli and had fresh memories of proper prepared pasta). The scallops were tiny and tasted out of a can. The whole meal lasted 1 hour and to drop $100 in 1 hr. On ill prepared food with a borderline rude waitress is appalling. No wonder there were only 2 other tables occupied. Shame on the owners for charging such high prices and not delivering. Definitely a OPUD (over promise, under deliver). I will try the place again since it is so beautifully situated on the water, but hopefully they will step up their game.
Great food but music too loud! Good service and sat outside away from music. Asked the owners to turn down twice and they seemed angry. Just wanted to talk to friend. Also need more signage- hard to find. Beautiful outside seating. Older crowd inside. Music so loud- everyone had to be hard of hearing.
The location is really nice on the water the restaurant could use some updating seems to cater to the older crowd cocktails were okay, the food was well prepared and served at the right temperature.
Kenny was are server he was excellent! Very attentive and professional!
Great food. Excellent bartenders!
Food was mediocre and the owner was very rude
Celebrating our 56 anniversary I was pleasantly surprised with atmosphere quality of food and excellent service so close to my home. Pompano” s best kept secret.
Fantastic restaurant! Great food, great service, great ambiance. 5 star all around!
What a great surprise. We were looking for some place new to try. This was it. Beautiful location on the intercoastal in Pompano Beach. Good happy hour served daily till 7 Pm. The bar is BUSY, Dawn is a great bartender who makes a great drink. Bar menu Italian style and very tasty. Be warned; they get a much older crowd. Great to see older people out and enjoying their lives. After 7 there is live music and people are up and dancing. Really nice to see.
Food good, not fancy, but tasty fare and well priced. Caesar salad as silly as it sound really good. Pasta prepared perfectly. All 5 in our group enjoyed their meals.
They will be closed for 2 week for a well deserved vacation and will reopen after Labor Day. We will be back again, my husband loved the music. Inseason a reservationb recommended. There is a municiple lot across the street from the restaurnat.
Very nice meal. Sat out on the deck overlooking the waterway and recommend it as they have fans and sun shades. The catch of the day was excellently prepared and the house made pasta was cooked to perfection.
Totally enjoyed every moment of our dining experience. The ambiance was exquisite right on the water way and marina. The food was absolutely delicious and all that we want was met. I will remember this location the next time we're in the area.
Food was good. Not outstanding, but good food. Service was very good. Only disappointment was that the menu was not reflective of the pictures (food gallery) on the website in terms of presentation and more importantly, variety.
Make sure you eat on the patio because the view is gorgeous. Food is mediocre but decent and the service is excellent. Nice place a stone's throw from the water.
Went with my boyfriend for a date night on a Saturday, sat outside for dinner, great ambiance and food. Had the lobster bisque, and it was my favorite. After we went inside for drinks since there was a great cover band playing, danced the rest of the night, lots of fun.
Great food!!! Super nice people!!! Interesting choice of vine!!! And a music!!!
Delicious mango mojitos. I especially enjoyed the capri mozarello stack on excellent garlic toast. The spicy sauce on my lobster linguini was enjoyable though the lobster was overcooked. The music was excellent with adequate space for dancing. I only wish they could have lowered the decibel level. Overall it was a fun evening and we will be back.
While food and service were very good, this restaurant is more like a club with excruciatingly LOUD music not suitable for dining. We chose to sit outside on the patio due to the music, but it was loud even out there! Unfortunately, we will not return.
Phenomenal service, terrific food, and we enjoyed a great happy hour first.
The food was OUTSTANDING, and beautiful scenery!
Once and done...
Sunset’s appetizer/meal selections are always top notch! Great attention to detail throughout the restaurant & even their restrooms.
A little pricey menu, but great quality.
Wonderful!! Everything is always perfect.... the food, the view, the service, the entertainment.
You will not be disappointed.
Food was very good ....not many people at restaurant....very good place to bring a romantic date...good music....parking is a bit of a hassle(be sure to ask where you should park because if you have to park across the street you are in the wrong parking area
There's a fine line between relaxed dining and server neglect. This was indifference on his part. My lobster tail was extremely tough. I could barely cut through it with my knife. I needed a steak knife. My husband's snapper was good. Will not go back.
It was “ok”. Glad we sat outside as the band was so loud we wouldn’t have been able to talk inside
Not expensive and nice view
Mother’s Day Dinner. Food so delicious and beautiful presentation. Service is always pleasurable and they go over and beyond to make you happy.
Tried on a recommendation. Parking a bit of a hassle. Very lovely second floor setting on the Intercostal and the restaurant was very nicely decorated. The service was great. The Bronzino special was excellent as was the Lobster Ravioli. A beef and veal in sauce was also ordered but was deemed just OK. The star of the meal was the Lobster Bisque. Could have been happy with two bowls for dinner! Overall a good experience. Would recommend and return.
