Sunset Catch Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The deck has a beautiful view of the intercostal. Perfect place for a cocktail, appetizers, and drinks.
The menus was a delight, seafood with an Itilian flare.
Everything is beautifully served, and the flavors were delightful. Some of the best lobster bisque that I have ever had. I also loved the fried zucchini with the marinara sauce.
The staff was friendly and attentive.
I will definitely be visiting again.
Disappointed in amout of food they served. We ordered meatballs and grilled artichokes for appetizer for 4. They gave us 2 meatballs and 4 PIECES of artichoke. 4 small bread slices also. We ordered fradiavolo and arribiatta. Neither were spicy but the portions were good. Being Italian I didn’t think the food was that great. Also $192 tab. No drinks. 2 cappuccinos completely different sizes.
The restaurant was below ok. Not sure why it has the ratings it does. The food is so below par we should have stuck with blue moon. The place was dead. The plates we had made us both sick. Everything is creamy or fried. Will never go back. Now let’s talk about the decor...tacky. How on earth do dolphins, swordfish and sharks can survive with peacocks is beyond me but that’s how it is there. Makes no sense. Looks like a tacky revival of the bad part of the 80s
When we arrived I was not impressed. Looked like an older crowd and I was not expecting good food. I was very pleasantly surprised when food arrived. We had the grilled artichokes as an appetizer. They were outstanding. We both had the homemade fettuccine for a main course. I highly recommend trying the homemade fettuccine. It is served many ways. Give one a try. I will definitely go back to this restaurant.
We hadn’t been to sunset catch in some time but took two other couples last Saturday because the food and ambience had been great. We had a tough experience this time. Got there a few mins after our 8:00 reservation. Took a long time to get the waiter back to our table after the waters were delivered. Appetizer came and were finished and then we could finally order. Then they were out of what we ordered. Finally ate at 10:00. Food was good. On top of all of it, the music which used to be great was now deafening - a ten piece band made for a space much larger. No conversation was possible. And we sat outside! We did complain but not an apology, offer to buy us dessert or coffee. Nothing. And that would have made the difference. I was embarrassed I had recommended the restaurant so highly. They were packed and doing great so it’s clearly working for them but not for us.
We went there for our anniversary. My salmon was not done and had to be sent back. The waiter took our drink order and did not remember taking it. Not a romantic place like I remembered in a previous visit. Food was overpriced for what you got. They did bring us a wonderful dessert to celebrate.
We got to the restaurant and were told we didn't have a reservation. We were then told to go sit in the bar (our name was not taken down) and someone would come and get us at 7:00 to seat us. After two more requests to be seated, since there were empty tables, we were finally seated. No one ever came to us at 7:00....Very disappointed!!!
We had never been here before. We came from Delray Beach and our friends from Ft. Lauderdale. The restaurant is stunning. The service was superb. The food preparation and presentation was excellent. Oh, it was also delicious. We all had seafood dishes from Chilean sea bass to bronzino to red snapper.
It's in an upstairs location of a 2-story building with outside balcony views of a marina and the Intracoastal. It's a really quaint restaurant with lots of ambient lighting. Food selection was good. We all had a nice time! The bands are great too! (Check the website for band schedules)
Ambiance, food, entertainment and service were outstanding. Nice live band too. We were there because of the live music. Been there many times before and always have a great experience. My snapper dish, as well as my wife's fish dish were awesome. Like their happy hour especially since it is on weekends too.
We went to this restaurant on our anniversary, thursday sept 28, 2017 at 6PM after seeing a recipe request for Lobster Fra Diavolo over linguine in the sun sentinel.
We started with the octopus over arugula, it was good
The lobster $46 dish was priced fairly and was tasty, salty made it very tasty, method of cooking made the 2LB lobster more tender then they can sometimes be, pasta was cooked perfectly. I was not disappointed.
On the other hand my husband ordered the Chilean sea bass scampi style, the waiter told him it was chunks rather than a whole piece, OK. It was served over spinach with oil & garlic, it was not the typical scampi, no sauce, marinated in something because the fish had a deep tan color.
He said is was just ok, and it did not come with any starch $36, so he was still hungry after a few chunks and some spinach, it was actually more like the size of an appetizer
The service was pleasant, but could have been more cordial. The waiter just had that indifferent attitude, like when I mentioned the lack of a starch, we didn't even get a head shrug, so I said that he should just pass it on.
Even though I mentioned to him it was our anniversary, and when we booked through open table they ask you if it is a special occasion, not even a candle for our anniversary, even though we ordered a desert and cappuccinos.
I guess the occasion was only special to us.
Overall, it is a nice place, on the intra coastal, but not much of a view from inside. I think it is a lively place with a large bar inside and entertainment on the weekends. They also have happy hour specials.
On the Intracoastal with indoor & outdoor seating. Good menu with enough selection of food to keep everyone happy. Very nice wait staff. We were there on a Saturday night recently & there was a great Motown band. Everyone was on the dance floor. There's a big bar crowd too. We've been going here for a couple of years now. Originally started going here to see a favorite entertainer of ours, Ghaleb. But now we go for the place itself. We really enjoy it. Order the 2 lb. steamed lobster & the lemoncello dessert! The ribeye which is one of their daily specials is excellent as well.
