As a first time patron for Sunday Brunch, here are my two cents.
Food was marginal. Service was questionable. The server would take my silverware then not bring any back for another course (this happened twice). He forgot drink refill requests 3 times. the Bloody Mary my husband ordered tasted like it had salsa in it (sent it away). The mimosas were more like watered down OJ with barely any champagne in them.
BUT, the hostesses were the nicest I think I've ever encountered. And, wow the Sunday JAZZ guitar and beautiful garden table and waterfalls made it all worth it. I will go back and hopefully the bad service, marginal food and watered down drinks are an isolated incident and I will certainly avoid the waiters that served us (or rather didn't quite serve us).
Completely overpriced for what you receive. The food is not amazing enough to charge a flat price of $75 per person.
Beautiful setting, great food & service
Fantastic ambience. Very accommodating. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.
Delicious and relaxing - very pricey but totally worth it!
We went for Saturday brunch. It was a great experience. Bottomless mimosas and wonderful food in a lovely COVID friendly environment.
Nice place for brunch. Pretty environment, bottomless drink specials, and food was good overall.
Enchanting setting, tremendously fine service and cuisine. Outdoor seating was safely distanced, as was inside. We were outside this time. I have been going to Sundy House for over 15 years. Unforgettable escape from regular dining experiences. Out-of-town guest must be brought here! I have to try the hotel rooms around the property one of these years!
Worst dining experience ever. I dine out at least 3x a week and I’ve never experienced something so awful. We arrived and were asked for drink orders and we were hungry so we ordered apps and entrees as well. Our tuna tartare came out and it was good, midway though we still had not had drinks. After our app we look at the time and are shocked it’s been 30 minutes since we ordered beverages. We flag down a woman working there as our waiter is no where to be found as he’s not checked in with us since ordering. We look again and it’s over 45 minutes but our waiter is coming with our drinks. My boyfriend ordered an anejo tequila with an orange wedge... the tequila was clearly blanco as it matched the color of our water and the waiter continued to tell my boyfriend he was wrong, totally rude. Let alone the drink came with a lime and no orange. We are still waiting as we expected since the drink was wrong he’d fix it right away. I finished my drink and still no dinner or new drink so we got up and left. In my many years of dining I’ve never ever gotten up to leave but this was just flat out the worst experience. There’s a lot of fine restaurants with great staff in the area, go anywhere but here.
BEAUTIFUL garden seating. Very comfortable with “social distancing”. Unfortunately, service was quite slow. Steak was tough and veggies were just warm. Apparently the meal “sat” while the service lacked.
Beautiful restaurant tho’ and I might try it one more time, perhaps mid-week next time.
It is a beautiful garden setting but the food is sadly lacking in both presentation and taste. We had 2 salads which were average or above. We had one escargot which was very unattractive, the snails were mixed with vegatables - not good and a crab cake which was so salty it could barely be eaten. Service was excellent.
Sat in a little private gazebo for my husband’s special birthday. We went there for the lovely ambience in the Garden.
What we didn’t expect was the excellent food and attentive service that we also received.
It was a lovely and delicious evening… And we look forward to returning.
Delayed Valentine dinner due to the poorly executed Valentine brunch on Feb 14. We elected to not stay for brunch as the Sundy House seemed to be over booked. We would have waited almost an hour even with our reservation. It was a Covid nightmare.
Having said this, the dinner was just wonderful and the gardens just beautiful.
The outdoor seating is amazing with ponds, fish, running water and plenty of native plants. The menu is a very fresh combination of foods. A small menu with no choices for any dietary issues. The Escargot appetizer was excellent, the roasted beet salad vinaigrette was quite heavy with vinegar. The scallops with risotto were cooked to perfection however the chef was a bit heavy on the pepper. Dinner was a Monday evening and the outside tables were quite full. It seemed that our waitress was very, very busy and may have had too many table to serve. Even though I have offered critical comments, it's definitely worth going.
For a taste of Old Florida this is the place! Amazing tropical environment with gazebos that fit 6 people and plenty of space between tables to enjoy private conversations. The food was fabulous - limited menu with everything fresh and fantastic!! Great wines and fun cocktails a Must go when you are in Delray Beach- 5 star experience:)
We had a great time at the Sundy House, Amber was just amazing and very attentive.
We sat outside in the front garden on a beautiful day. Our server, Brooke, was fantastic. Perfect lunch!
They had a very bad night. They forgot our order and when the food finally arrived, one dish was overdone and uneatable. To their credit, they attempted to right the wrong. Because they apologized, I am prepared to give them a pass. Everyone has a bad night.
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere. Service was terrible it took an hour and a half for the meal to come and then we asked for the manager who never showed up. On top of it the food wasn’t great. Wouldn’t go back.
Wonderful evening, Service, ambiance,food, excellent
Our waiter was phenomenal He never wrote anything down and orders were accurate. He was fast but friendly and shared some history of Sundy house with us. We can’t say enough nice things about him
The cutest place I love it.. date night or any occasion it's a perfect place
We picked the Sundy House to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary. It was such a pleasant experience. My parents as well as everyone in our group was very happy. Our waiter was excellent. There was also this young man that worked there, he gave my mom a vase filled with water to put her flowers in, while we were there. It just was all around great. We definitely will be going again.
The setting is lovely, food very good but the service ridiculously slow - in addition, lights went out near our table - ate dinner in darkness. Very uncomfortable - too bad.
Lovely atmosphere. Food was very good but, when our waiter came to our table, he was great but long absences between seeing him. Took around 1/2 hour before we got our cocktail....
Food was fabulous, beautiful setting for our anniversary dinner!
The service was very slow. The staff could not be nicer, but seemed to be understaffed.
Worst valentine's dinner experience.
Most Terrible Pl., I’ve ever been. Had reservations at 8:00pm wasn’t seated until 9:20pm Once sited did not know what to do no one came to my table for over 10 minutes and I had to figure out where the Buffay was. We spent over $250 for a really bad experience on Valentine’s Day. So many customers complaining. Staff standing around with no interest in helping the customer. Do not go to this place
I have been a customer of Sundy House for years. Gone through several chefs and have always come back. I booked Valentines Day through Open Table was looking forward to the evening. To my surprise when we got there we were told it was a buffet for $100 pp. I was shocked as I would never had made a reservation if I was aware of this. Needless to say, I would have left after waiting a half hour for a table. But, I didn’t want to ruin the evening. I was really taken aback by the awful choices. Prime Rib all fat, turkey and pork. Really, 100 dollars for those entrees. . The quality of the food was poor. The crowd around the bar was no social distancing. And, the buffet tables were not taken care of. Several trays were left empty. And, on top of this when we asked for our check we were brought a checked signed by someone else. Our waiter after asking for a print out of our check coped an attitude and told us to just get out of there. The manager was called and he comped our check, but it certainly didn’t save the evening. I will not go back there. To many fine restaurants in the area.
We went for Valentines day dinner and while the menu looked amazing on paper unfortunately it fell short. However we can not begin to tell you how impeccable the service was. Between Chelsea and Bridget they really did make our Valentines special. Every restaurant has an off night so we will definitely try it again but the service was second to none.
The food on this occasion was substandard to simply bad,
Have heard a lot about the Sundy House and expectations were pretty high. The atmosphere and setting are fantastic. Went on Valentine's Day and was expecting order by menu but the offering was a buffet that night which isn't a big deal. The buffet selection was not bad, however, the place was certainly busy and the turnover on the popular items (crab legs, prime rib, etc.) was fast and after a few trips there was only scraps to pick from. The servers were fantastic so no knocks there. I was a bit put off that we didn't drink any alcohol and when we got the bill it automatically rolled in a 20% gratuity and then charged sales tax on that total amount, after which you could then add a tip at your discretion. Overall, a fair outing and I'm not sure I'd go back again for that particular event.
Great night for Valentine’s Day! Such a romantic location, great food and service!
Food not so good for price and waitress kept diappearing
The experience from the start was very unorganized and disappointing just two young woman trying to handle all the customers coming in for 5:00 service.
We had been taken to a table next to a building which was not the ambiance your restaurant is know for.
We requested a better seat finally got one that was just one step above that.
You had many open tables in the garden but set us in another bad location. For the price we have to say we are very dissatisfied.
Atleast if we had been seated in the garden it would have been worth it.
We got there at 4:00 an hour before reservation to get a good seat.
But unfortunately that didn’t matter.
front desk staff overwhelmed. Took them 1 hour and 30 min to seat us on Valentines for brunch. But by then we had a great garden setting under a beautiful canopy of trees and tivoli lights as it grew darker. Very lovely and romantic setting. Almost no where else like it in S FL. You don't come here for the food, rather the lovely gardens, and the staff is wonderfully accommodating.
They should ramp up the food selections...but if you love oysters and king claws it works.
Had a 230 reservation. Stood around for an hour watching multiple tables remain empty for upwards of 45 minutes. Finally sat down around 340. I’ve heard good things about this place but this was my first time there. Did not realize it was a buffet style brunch. Everything was luke warm, flavor was nothing special, and the selection wasnt anything to brag about. Myself, my wife & my son ate, and our bill was $285! I don’t mind spending money on good quality food, but I would have had better food at my local mom & pop breakfast spot and spent a fraction of this bill. That will be the first and last time I visit the Sunday house.
Had reservations for 2PM and got seated at 3:30PM I know you where busy but that seemed excessive. I think we should of gotten form your staff at least a thank you for your patience but got nothing but the Bill.
