Four of us dined. The outdoor grounds and atmosphere are very nice. We dined under a covered portico. An oscillating fan was blowing on our table and the waiter immediately turned it off at our request. The two diners who had shrimp and scallops were pleased with their meals. My wife had the lamb chops and was very much pleased. My duck dish was so-so but I enjoyed the risotto that accompanied it. Service was extremely slow. We waited almost 40 minutes for our drinks before dinner to arrive. The waiter was not as attentive as he could have been and also seemed to wreak of cigarette smoke when he leaned into the table at one point to clear some dishes. I may have been the only one who noticed since he was closest to me.
Overall, nice setting for alfresco dining. A bit pricey. Portion sizes or what we should all be eating; so no complaints from me on that point.
We love this place! The server was very attentive and we got the gazebo I requested which made this birthday celebration perfect. The food was so tasteful and presented artistically. We all enjoyed our meals immensely! We’ll definitely continue to go back to the Sundy House 🤗👍☯️
I had my Bachelorette party start here for brunch and it was absolutely amazing thank you so much!
We were married at The Sundy House, so we go back on our Anniversary. It’s by far the most beautiful outdoor dining experience I’ve ever had...but the food is just ok. They put strange things together, a fruity salsa on Tuna? Chorizo and blueberry sauce on octopus? It’s just trying too hard to be fancy I think. They need a new chef and let the tuna and octopus be the star, not some fruity topping. I had the Cioppino as my main course. It was average. My husband had the cod which was the special. He said it was ok, felt like banquet food.
The place is gorgeous and romantic...they just need to work on the food and get a real chef.
It was amazing. Everything about it was first clas.
Sundy House was by far the best restaurant we ate in while at Delray Beach. The chef there really knows how to prepare fish. We had Black Cod and Sea Bass, and both were excellent.
Our friends had short ribs and shrimp n Grits, and said they were equally delicious.
The outdoor dining surrounded by ponds and botanical gardens is just beautiful and so peaceful.
A solo female singer rounded out the romantic evening. Sundy House also has a fabulous Sunday Brunch, although we were not there on a Sunday to try it. Next time, for sure!
Don't miss this restaurant if you are in Delray.
I have frequented the Sundy House for the last 15 plus years through all of their owners and out at doubt theses are the worst yet, overpriced and underwhelming to say the least. The service was beyond terrible on Valentine’s Day, we were surprised to see the limited selection and that nothing and I mean nothing could be altered or substituted, not to mention the cocktails are limited and basic (no list could be provided). For the price of each individual on Valentine’s Day the service was terrible and lacked any attention to detail. Our food came out to our table wrong TWICE and when brought to the waiters attention he seemed irritated and confused, it also took a very long time to get the corrected items and the time in between courses was excessively long. We again had to switch out the desert and was felt to be a bother then as well. I unfortunately can no longer recommend the Sundy House. Do not waste your hard earned money!!
Went there for Valentines Day with my Valentine of 60 years based on our experience with their fantastic Sunday Brunch. Four course price fixed dinner equaled the brunch. Choices were many, good excellent, server (Bridget) was most accommodating. Could have asked for a better experience. Have been coming to Delray for years and have gone to various $$ restaurants to celebrate Valentines Day, this was the best for food, service, ambiance and value. Will return next year.
Terrible service and a 20% Service Charge made
A good day a lot less good than it should have Been
Tables were small and when a water glass fell of a table and shattered on the floor, the staff walked around the spill/glass until I fought up that they could be sued if someone slipped on it.
