Sundy House Ratings and Reviews
Went on Sunday night for wife’s birthday. Arrived and was told they did not have outdoor heaters on for us to sit in the garden because they did not have enough reservations. The whole reason you go there is for the gardens. Big disappointment. Food was okay but should be great for the price.
Would Not recommend.
"Outstanding" is the only word to describe selection of food and it's display, the beautiful grounds and historic atmosphere. We went for Sunday brunch and we're pleasantly surprised at the huge array of offerings from Alaskan crab legs, to fresh oysters, prime rib, crepes, Belgian waffles and on and on! Loved it and cannot wait to go back on our next vacation to Delray Beach!
Great bar set the tone for a pleasant dining experience. Very good service and beautiful setting. Unfortunately my dish was a big disappointment. I had the duck and it was mediocre at best. The skin was rubbery and the the pomegranate reduction was not very flavorful and rather sparse. I was unpleasantly surprised as most dishes are usually outstanding. I will return but I will not order again. Too bad as I really like duck.
We got stuck in the little velvet room on the side at a table that usually meant for 2 but there were 4 of us. I know it was on and off raining so there wasn’t much of an option, but I wouldn’t go back if I had to sit in that room again. There was no music, it was so tight. We kept having to push in to let people by. That was really disappointing considering how much money we spent. That being said the buffet was amazing. Great selection and well done. The tables in the other rooms and outside with music and beautiful scenery looked amazing. It’s unfortunate. They should put the buffet in the ugly side room and let people eat where it’s pretty.
The first server we had disappeared after our first round of drinks and we had to ask to send someone over for a second round. Then we got a new server who was great. I can’t remember her name but she had long braided hair. She was so sweet and friendly and attentive. She made the rest of the dinner great.
Overall if we had been seated somewhere else I would have loved it. It’s a shame
Loved the outdoor seating. Like eating in the middle of a rain forest.
Food was excellent. Happened to be a wedding going on. As the guests walk by i happen to see
a familiar face and then i heard the voice. It was none other than Jerry Seinfeld. Did not get to schmooze with him, but I at least said Hello to him as he walked by and he gave a very friendly hello back. Would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner.
Looking forward to going back.
We've had several Sunday brunches at Sundy House. The restaurant is very consistent in good wait staff services, consistent in good food and presentation and they are consistent in very bad front desk (hosting) services. Be prepared for bad experience in the reception area and host services (e.g. chaos and congestion, long waits even when one shows up early in a 10:30 am reservations hostesses are confused on the software they are using and exactly where to seat the guests ...). We constantly had to assert ourselves.
SUNDY house is now $75 per brunch plate, up from $55. There is no real change in the food. In fact, some items we used to enjoy are no longer served.
We ate here for my wife’s birthday. When I scheduled, I notified them of the occasion. The morning of, I called and reminded that we need the little happy birthday plate. When I arrived, I told my waitress. Lo and behold, after three separate reminders they forgot. The happy birthday plate was brought out after we asked for the check and clearly after we made a couple trips to the dessert area. I even stalled the wife off of getting dessert for about 15 minuets to buy the staff time, but no luck.
The SUNDY house used to be worth $55/person for brunch, but it is absolutely not worth the almost 50% price increase. Will not be eating here again until they A) reduce the price or B) add anything of value to justify the price jump.
First time at the Sunday Brunch at Sundy House! What a magnificent buffet in a most beautiful setting! The vocalist added to the ambiance! She was very good....as was our waiter Andre!
Such an enjoyable two hours with so many delicious food options! Our group enjoyed their Champagne and mimosas as well! Would go back in a heartbeat!
The Sunday House is a charming restaurant with a spectacular setting. The food & service were outstanding. Valet parking adds to the experience.
Although the outdoor dining experience at night is very special, the mosquito problem would probably dissuade me from returning.
We moved inside as the rain that began while eating left us unprotected.
My son recently moved to Delroy. While visiting him for the3/4 time I mentioned to someone I was having dinner with my son, probably on Atlantic Ave. she highly recommended the Sundy House. Wow, that was the best recommendation I have been given in years. My son did not even know this little gem existed just two blocks from his apartment on 2nd Ave.. we were treated with great service, food and an ambiance like a 5 star hotel in Barbados. I couldn’t believe we were two blocks away from the hustle, bustle and craziness on Atlantic Street.
We both had the duck which was exceptional. Can’t wait to return with the rest of our family.
This was our first time to the Sundy House after hearing great reviews from friends & we were not disappointed. The service from Gregory was superb and our food was outstanding. It was the perfect spot for our special day & definitely made our anniversary a memorable one. We will absolutely be back again!
Our server was to busy taking care of a party table and forgot we even were their. When we got his attention he made up stories that had nothing to do with us, however the bus boy could not do enough for us realizing what was happening. The server was Wayne and the bus was Ken. It was a special occassion and we wish it could have been better.
I celebrate my 5th year anniversary and the ambience was perfect. Amazing food, great customer service. I love everything especially the outdoor space. The beautiful trees, it felt like you're one with nature. It was perfect and I'm glad I came here with my husband for our special day. I'll definitely come back again. My husband doesn't like anything that's outdoors but he couldn't stop talking about how beautiful Sundy House was
Very good Sunday Brunch, one of our favorites. The truffle fried chicken was outrageously good!! The overall selection accommodates a wide range of preferences. The ambiance is amazing. Outside seating is recommended to capture the essence of the outdoor scenery. The oysters in the seafood selection were outstanding. Service was great!
Beautiful venue outdoors in the gazebo next to the waterfall and pond. Food was equally presented well. Another table let their children run wild and play all around the garden, our table and even destroy some of the pond. We love kids but they acted like they were on the playground and really inhibited the piece and serenity of the venue. Staff did not do anything when it became apparent.
