Sunday Brunch - Fairmont Hotel Macdonald
Excellent food at a great location. This was the first time we went to the Sunday brunch and it was so nice. The variety of food was wonderful. There was a good balance between cold and warm items. We all really like the flambé crepes That they make fresh for you
It’s a most enjoyable place to go, never tire of it!
Have a wonderful view sit next to the window, food is excellent will back again
The staff went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. I told them how I had just finished a fitness competition and had been dieting for several months. A few minutes later they came with a brownie served on a plate that had congratulations written on it. It was very special.
My only complaint was that the meat was cold.
Thanks to all the staff for great service, especially Corrina and Yasmine, in celebrating some special occasions.
I’ve been before to Hotel McDonald for brunch and it was amazing but this time was mediocre at best. There was less with not as nice presentation but we were charged more because it was Thanksgiving. Won’t be back. For that money you expect consistency and amazing every time. Don’t recommend.
Went to the Hotel Macdonald for Thanksgiving Sunday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything looked and tasted delicious, especially the braised short ribs and Belgian waffles! A little pricey but worth it for special occasions.
Never been before the food was fantastic. Everyone was helpful and the service was great
One of the few remaining brunches at a Fairmont Hotel and it was very good. A great selection of food options including healthy choices. A little noisy but a nice treat.
It was great! Gherte, in addition to others, was a wonderful and attentive server who made our celebration special.
The food is delicious with lots of variety. It was held in their main ballroom which is a beautiful room
The food was superb with excellent service! Corinna was our server and cleared extra plates very quickly. She pours a great Mimosa! What a historic hotel to tour after.
It was my mom’s birthday and she was treated like a queen. A great place to go for a special occasion. Thank you for looking after us so well.
Over all it was a good meal and very nice. I do however think the coffee was awful. It needs to be a dark roast and stronger. Plus a variety of coffees might be nice, like lattes etc. The desserts tasted store bought but there was a nice variety.
Our server was fantastic! The buffet was very fresh and a large variety of items!!! I have always wanted to do Sunday brunch there and my parents treated my husband and I for our anniversary! It was a brunch to not be forgotten! The only thing is, my husband and I tend not to overeat, even at a buffet, so if I was tagging the bill by myself, I would probably consider it too pricy
The service was great but the food not quite what it used to be, especially as the price has gone steadily up. on another note, it is always disappointing to be enjoying a meal in such a beautiful setting for a special occasion and to have to share the space with diners in flip flops, ball caps on backwards etc. I wish that there was still at least a minimal dress code in effect!
I have been coming to Hotel Macdonald's sunday brunch for alot of years and it has always been great. However, it is very much not the same quality it once was. I'm also very disappointed in the lack of gluten free options as my life is a celiac and left there hungry. It is very easy to have more gluten free options available. I'm not certain we will return any time soon because of this issue.
Went there for anniversary every year. Food is fresh and tasty. Will come back again next year!
Great experience and delicious meal. Yasmin was our server and looked after us very well and was very welcoming and attentive. Enjoyed ourselves very much.
Celebrated anniversary here. Everything was great !
Very beautiful, lovely selection. It is kind of expensive.
Food choice good but quality not that great. Eggs Benidict very sad looking , very little sauce and not that fresh looking.
We have been the Xmas brunch at the Fairmont a few times and have always liked it. This was our first time to a Sunday brunch and were a bit disappointed. The main problem was the food simply wasn't hot enough and I expect better for the prince that they charge. Perhaps it was because they weren't busy enough.
Good quality food, excellent service! Recommend for special occasion!
Sunday brunch at the McDonald used to include samosas and offered a greater selection of food choices. The price has gone up and the value has gone way down. My family was very disappointed with our visit on August 11. We most likely will not go back or recommend this brunch to anyone.
AS my Granddaugther was walking down the hall toward the dinning area her eyes keep getting bigger and bigger at your display of desserts , that alone was worth the price of admission and the food available too both her and the rest of our party was outstanding, espicailly the small celebration by the staff for my son Birthday
Wonderful ambiance. Good selection of buffet items -I am a seafood fan. Expensive. Trouble with mobile payment device but wait staff “disappeared” and eventually took bill up to front
Lovely experience. Excellent service, great food presentation.
Absolutely the best brunch ever! Fresh and very classy
Overpriced and not given the Seniors price. Called to speak with someone regarding the overcharge and have had no response.
The staff were excellent - thank you!
Food was okay...we were told there would be prime rib but it was rump roast, normally there is a BBQ but it was cancelled due to risk of rain. A lot of the food looked nice, but was bland and in need of seasoning. We had the last seating for brunch, so the ball room was fairly empty. This was nice from the perspective of no line ups at the buffet tables, but all of the empty tables strewn with dirty napkins from previous diners did nothing for the ambiance. Overall, we have been to many much better Sunday brunches for far less money.
Chef was amazing. Made us gf eggs Benedict and walk them out to our table. Absolutely above and beyond.
We had a splendid brunch to celebrate three birthdays. The setting is magnificent with wonderful views over Edmonton and fantastic nineteenth-century style decor. There is a quite remarkable selection of food ranging from crispy bacon and eggs Benedict, through wild mushroom ravioli and steamed salmon, to shrimp, smoked salmon and crab legs. There were also crepes and a barbecue prepared to order on the terrace. All were all of exceptional quality. The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive and we were amused and impressed by the chocolate brownies especially for our birthdays!
Hotel Mac is always a lovely treat. Service and great and everything is set up and laid out so nicely! Very kid friendly also!
Went for Father’s Day brunch. Fairmont Hotel Mac Patio is the best in Edmonton. Very European feel to it. Fantastic experience.
It was a really fantastic morning on this patio--such a perfect day with outstanding service and an incredible brunch. Lovely really really lovely!
Brunch was very nice. There were a couple things that were “off”. The server offered my child mimosa - I found that very odd, the next thing is that I went for my birthday and had put the comments in my reservation, nothing was noted or mentioned so that was a bit of a disappointment for us. The food was very good, the cost was high so it’s not something we do often.
Visited for a belated Mother's Day celebration. Corinna was fantastic. She didn't let our water glasses, or mimosas get low. She also gave some great suggestions on items not to be missed on the buffet line. Our table by the patio was perfect.
We came in for the 12:30pm Sunday brunch and were seated at 12:45pm. I was a little concerned they had forgotten about us. Once seated they told us our mimosas would be comp'd to make up for the wait. It did! Nice little extra that made my Mom and I both happy. Great selection of food, beautiful room, awesome service. We would go again. Thank you again Corinna!
