About Sundance The Steakhouse
Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.

Sundance The Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was enjoyed by all the guests. The salads and the main entrees were adequately
proportioned and flavorful. The dining area was a little loud so it was sometimes hard to
hear our table conversation. I wish the waitress would have presented us the Sunset Menu since we were there during that timeframe.
Jovial spirits on the way there. My 40th bday with wife and daughters (7- year old and 19 month old). Ambiance wonderful, food great. Service left us feeling blegh.... so much that our trip home ended up being quiet and weird... shouldn't we have been feeling great conning home from a40th birthday dinner? He was only there to earn a tip! Treated us different cause we asked about happy hour? Asked about sunset deal? told us we cannot go to the bar to get drinks to bring to the table and yet the table next to us are all seated with drinks in hand from the bar? Only minimally polite and available. In fact it was other servers who helped us and made us feel welcome. I tipped well as taught by my father but we're never coming back. Thanks for the mud pie but even that felt forced by our rude and unhappy waiter. A message to him..."thanks for diluting the happiness on what was to be a great evening out!" The best steak/prime rib in the world is not worth the crappy service we were afforded. Boo to Sundance for allowing someone like this to work there.
Absolutely delicious steak and trimmings and awesome service, especially given that my dining companions were very late. Not once did I feel pressure from our waiter or servers. My filet mignon was superb. This is THE place to go in Palo Alto for fantastic food, cozy ambiance, and top-notch service. Forget the new-fangled spots, go to this tried-and-true.
Comfortable , vintage type steakhouse. Excellent service from Cash! He knows my regular order but easily makes suggestions. Tried special Pasta with great simple ingredients, very tasty. I feel very 'safe' taking and suggesting to friends, relatives and business associates a visit here because of consistent superior service and delicious food.
Very good food & attentive service made for an enjoyable dinner at Sundance Steakhouse. We were disappointed that the restaurant had run out of our first two wine selections, but were most satisfied with the Caesar, wedge, & house salads that we ordered, and the salmon, swordfish, & prime ribs entrees were delicious. The cheesecake and apple pie with ice cream were tasty choices to end a most satisfying meal.
Four of us had the Sunset Dinner menu, which had taken quite a jump since last year. We all chose from the $32 menu. One had prime rib (very good), two had the sword fish (excellent), and one had the brochette (meat was tough). The salads and potatoes were good. We did not have dessert.
Staff was very friendly. We could hold a conversation without having to raise our voices. Parking is a bear.
