Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Sundance never fails. Great food amazing Mud Pie for desert but seems the prices and corkage fee have gone up.

This has been one of my favorite places since I was a teenager (now I have teens of my own!). The food is uniformly excellent, and portions are excellent. The staff is professional and everyone seems to like working there--such a nice vibe. I like the atmosphere too, kind of old school but also festive.

Very good food & service with reasonable prices. My wife enjoyed the grilled salmon and my swordfish was delicious. The waiter was most attentive, and it was nice to have our beverage glasses refilled quickly.

Sundance Steakhouse is a very popular restaurant, and I high recommend making a reservation for lunch or dinner.

My wife and I go here for birthdays and special occasions. We don't eat out much, but when we do, Sundance is our choice. The food is great and so is the service.

For a "Steakhouse", not so stuffy and old fashion as typically known to be. Noise level pretty high. not good for conversation. otherwise, food very well prepared. Service,, very attentive.

We ate at Sundance for our Anniversary. Because it was a weeknight, we went early and were pleasantly surprised by the Sunset menu. The portions and price for the menu were amazing. The service was very attentive and the waitstaff interacted with us in a very personal way. We were treated to a lovely dessert and serenade which made the whole experience memorable and really beautiful.

The food was delicious. My husband had been craving prime rib for weeks and couldn’t find a place that served it outside of specific days of the week. His was prepared perfectly and he really enjoyed it. I had the grilled salmon, ,which was also perfectly cooked. The staff was very amenable to requests and substitutions as well.

One can never go wrong ordering the prime rib. Always cooked perfectly. I had the jumbo prawns puttanesca pasta. It was so delicious and a generous portion full of succulent, crunchy shrimps (freshness indicator)! We ended our meal with their scrumptious signature mud pie dessert!

I made our reservation a week before and specifically requested that our table be reserved in the 'step-up' room or in the open bar area. The hostess called to confirm our reservation the day of our dinner and I specifically noted my request again and was told that she will have our table in the 'step-up' room. When I checked in with the hostess, I again, told her to please make sure our table is where we have requested it but when we came to be seated, we were seated in the main dining room where it was crowded and our table was pretty tight seated for 6 people. Everything was great EXCEPT our request from one week before since this was a special occasion dinner. I was very disappointed in the hostess (es) for simply ignoring my request when mentioned three times.

A rare occurrence. Everything about our two meals was extraordinary. The bread and olive oil was very good. The available sauvignon blanc was first class. The house salad was outstanding. The chef managed to deliver a difficult combination of swordfish and medium well filet mignon with vegetables cooked to perfection. Along with their customary mud pie dessert , I ordered coffee that not only tasted very good but was at the proper temperature in the first cup.
