Enjoying having a terrific lunch in a pleasant location .... a favorite spot worth a long drive in the rain by all of us!
Will return !
I really enjoyed the dinner. The service was great and attentive and the food was excellent!
Great vibe, food, and service. The prime rib is deliciously tender, the classic cheesecake is full and not fluffy as some are, and the hot fudge is sinfully delightful. The waiter could have been a tad less cold to my girlfriend, who is less accustomed to fine dining and thus had trouble deciding her orders, but he was still highly professional and knowledgeable in serving our needs. All in all, a wonderful dining experience for the both of us.
My dinner at Sundance The Steakhouse was very good once I was seated. Spent a great amount time in the bar waiting for my table. My table was available 30 minutes after my reservation time. If I would've known it was going to be so late I would've ordered appetizers in the bar. The maître d' said it would be a couple of minutes. Which is always a little irritating.
After we were seated everything was fine the waiter was very attentive . The meals came out timely fashion. There is no way can beat good primary and a baked potato. Followed by a tasty dessert.
Two shrimp entrees, the shrimp was a little tough.
Excellent food and service. Best restaurant in Palo alto.
Excellent food as always. Wonderful ambiance. Sadly, on this occasion only very poor service. The salad delivered before the appetizer and in a strange way. Some appetizers never arrived. Never took a wine order. When we asked the waiter to take our wine order, it was still not delivered until the meal was mostly over. When we complained, the waiter rolled his eyes at us and gave us snarky remarks. Fortunately, the manager brought us wine, after our meal was over.
In sum, we will return as the food was excellent as always and the ambiance is the best. We hope this was just a one-time problem.
Excellent as usual. Always my choice for a family get-together.
Excellent food and outstanding service by Luke. Not our first time there, always a pleasant experience. We have out note to always ask for a table in Luke's section. It was our anniversary and he make it that much more special.
Amazing place to celebrate anything or just relax. The service was impeccable. Relaxed, but attentive.
Fantastic prime rib
Absolute best steakhouse on the peninsula. Bar none.
Thank you for making sure we got through in time for the play we were attending!
Sundance the steakhouse was ok, not great. Food was ok, also not great. Somehow, the steak we ordered was kind of bland. Pretty disappointing considering the cost.
Always great food- consistently excellent steaks, prime rib, and fish. Classic side dishes done to perfection. Service was good. It was noisy tonight but not intolerable.
Had a 7:00 reservation for four but waited almost an hour for our table. On a Tuesday night -- not a Friday or Saturday. Meanwhile, a table for four with no reservations was sat ahead of us because, per the host, "They were friends of the owner."
May be the most consistently great food on the Peninsula. Great bar!
Went for a business lunch. Excellent for that. Wait staff was unobtrusive. Noise level is decidedly peaceful. Good food. Slightly pricey but not over the top. A perfect spot for what I was looking for.
It was very disappointing to have to first wait for 25 mins to be seated after we had a reservation for 7pm . The purpose of reservations is to align seating periods with availability. The most disappointing aspect was the service at an expensive dining place like Sundance Steakhouse - we were not yet finished with the appetizers when the main course - Fillet Mignon was served, which in turn got cold by the time we started to eat.
Sundance continues to impress. I think the steaks are getting better! All the dishes are excellent from the bread and butter, to the salads, appetizers, and of course, the steak. The grilled mushrooms were delicious, too. And the ribeye was exceptional.
Made reservations at Sundance for my friend's birthday. The place is a very nice steakhouse with traditional style (think of dark walnut wood booths) decor. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our server, Luke, was great and even sang a little birthday song for the guest of honor. I would recommend the place to anyone.
We went on the sunset special, well worth the price the food was great, our waiter was very good he even sang a song for us. We will be back.
The best prime rib place in the Bay Area. All cuts of prime rib and filet mignonette. Excellent Caesar salad as well as lobster bisque and clam chowder soup. Fresh, delicious sour dough bread served warm with olive oil or butter. Too full for dessert. Expect to pay for this delicious meal.
Terrific food as always but table was 25 min past reservation. Mud our is always delicious.
Celebrated my friends 30th birthday and engagement
Wonderful! Nothing bad!
Excellent roast beef. We dined at Sundance often for its sunset dinner menu.
The only improvement we can suggest is that we feel rushed to order and eat and pay. It would be nicer if the pace is more leisurely so we can have time to chat.
We came for a special birthday. We were seated and the table was too small for 6 people and waters were brought and immediately 3 glasses were spilled on one person on the table. They didn’t give us options for other tables except a booth that would not fit us all. We managed but we never were asked for anything to drink other than the first asking and table was crammed and tight the whole time and was not a relaxing experience. I wish we would have had a better experience.
The only negative that I can state is the size of the table. We were a party of six - the table we were given was "comfortable" for a party of 4. We had to constantly move dishes around to make space .. It was literally a table for 4 with two more chairs crammed at the shorter edge of the table to make it a table for 6
The food/service was good. If we didn't end up passing plates to the waiter over the guests' heads and or outstretching our arms to take the plate from the waiter ( who couldn't reach three people easily , this would be a perfect experience
Our very favorite restaurant. We go every month or two and over-order to take leftovers home for the next day. It's on the expensive side but a good value for two meals each for two days. We love it for the food and ambiance.
Sundance is a nice restaurant but....
The noise level is very high and does detract from the overall experience which is positive. Value is average imo. Service and food are great. We went on a Wed night so my assumption is the noise level is always the same as it was not Thrs-Sat. I did enjoy my 1st time there but if you want peace & quiet Sundance is not the place.
My wife and I went for the sunset special that includes selected entries and a salad for a fixed price. The food was excellent and service first class. I would highly recommend Sundance for a classic steakhouse experience.
Sundance continues to be an outstanding place for lunch or dinner. Great wait staff and lots of flexibility on requests. The quality of the food is wonderful -- best beef anywhere!
I would also like to do a shout out to our server, Sean. He is my favorite guy at Sundance. Helpful, friendly and totally into his customers' service. He is GREAT.
Excellent service, comfortable upscale ambiance, great food (seafood as well as meat).
Not cheap, but worth every penny.
Except for how small and over priced the raw oysters were, the balance of the mean was very good and of reasonable value for a 4 star restaurant. Noise level was unbelievably loud. Made conversations with friends across the table extremely difficult. A restaurant of this quality should serve Blue Point oysters from the east coast.
Very good experience as always
Always a good time st Sundance. This time the prime tib was a bit dry and tough.
The early specials are fantastic taste and bargain.
My husband and I came to Sundance for dinner on our wedding anniversary. I had requested a romantic, quiet table if possible and noted it was our wedding anniversary. We were seated in a tiny room with a large party table for 12 right behind us, a family with children next to us and were seated in the smallest table in the restaurant. When our appetizers came out there wasn’t enough room on the table, it was rather disappointing. We had an excellent waiter but for the quality of food and the tiny table the dining experience was definitely lacking.
