Sundance The Steakhouse
Bread outstanding but what happened to the balsamic vinegar? Previously good bit now tasted sour? Otherwise foood good.
Was mothers 84th birthday and asked twice for birthday cake...I was happy to pay for effort but nothing fothcoming? Disappointing.....
Food was perfect. Staff was very accommodating to seniors without asking for help. Great menu
Birthday dinner for my Mom’s 88th. She has been wanting prime rib. She was very happy with her meal as we all were. Lovely service. Thank you for a very special evening!
Very nice. All good
Very poor food, poor value for money.
For several decades Sundance has been my “go to” for upscale dining. But just recently they have totally ruined what used to be my favorite entree, the seared ahi tuna. It used to be composed of juicy slices of the tuna, but in the past few months it more closely resembles the “trim,” or wasted scraps of tuna.
This has happened several times, not just once. Shame on me for repeating this order last week, but I couldn’t believe that they have decided to literally destroy this sacred dish. As the price of the entree has increased substantially in the past year, the quality of the tuna has plummeted, and the presentation of the bits and pieces of leftover tuna fragments that now compose this entree should be an embarrassment to the management.
We came to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary and Sundance went above and beyond. They were kind and very attentive. I would definitely come back.
We love the Sundance. It’s mine and my family’s go-to steakhouses in the bay. We come here for the prime rib!
We were all having fun and really enjoying ourselves until we ordered an extra bread for the table. The waiter seemed to be bothered and brought us day old bread instead of the original bread we received. I’m going to assume that the waiter was going to receive a deduction in pay for giving away an extra bread basket. After all of this, it give us a bad taste about the restaurant.
The food was not flavorful at all. The cost for what you get is a joke.
Ozzie was our server... Terrific !!
food and service wonderful !! My husband loved Ozzie's martini !
This was our first time to your restaurant. We were pleasantly pleased by the ambience. Our server Jim was an outstanding part of our experience. The food was exactly as good as was described to me, even better than words can explain. Hi quality as I hoped for. The price was comparable to the quality of food and overall experience, we definitely will be returning again! Thank you for giving us exactly what we want in a dinning out experience!
Sundance is a nice restaurant for special occasions, service is tops but food was not that impressive though. We had two seafood based dishes which is not there specialty, however I think these could have been a bit more tasty. Bisque soup was also a bit bland. Yet overall the dining experience was positive, would have been fantastic if the food items were a bit more lifted from the rather bald preparation.
Fish was dry. Nothing special. Even though it was the special.
Haven’t been here in years since it is invariably packed we are last minute reservers usually. We booked ahead for or friends birthday this time. We were not disappointed! Everything was perfect down to the side broccoli and carrots. One of the few steakhouses in the Bay Area serving perfectly prepared prime rib. Oysters were best we have had in a long time as was ahi and tempura mushrooms we won’t wait so long next time!
Very noisy. Really missed Luke our amazing waiter of many years. Food great! Jason our waiter was great
The fish was fine but the plate looked poor, the vegetables were not prepared properly.
The bread was very old style and uninteresting
We went to Sundance many times and we were satisfied both food and service. Unfortunately this time we had a very bad service of our waiter. Very disappointed!
it was overall great! Thanks for the complimentary dessert for our wedding anniversary!
Fabulous as always! Our server was attentive, our Caesar salads were delicious, the steaks & prime rib were PERFECT & the frozen ice cream mud pie with fudge (that we shared) was sooooo good! We just can’t wait to return!
Always best to make a reservation!
Very convenient location for Stanford home football games. Classic steakhouse with lots of alternative entree selections. Solid professional wait staff.
Second time going in two months. Had the filet mignon instead of the rib eye this time. Delicious on both counts with a house salad and baked potato, perfect meal with a half bottle of the long meadow cabernet. And Stanford beat 15th ranked U of Washington. Friendly attentive waitress
Each time my wife and I dine here is better than the last. Friday was particularly great as our seafood was absolutely delicious and the staff helped make it a great night out. Chilled giant prawns, lobster bisque, the world’s greatest warm sourdough bread, followed by our entrees: grilled salmon w/baked potato and vegetables for me and halibut, rice pilaf and veggies for my wife. Special thanks to our bartender,Ozzie, lounge server, Aleesha, and awesome waiter, Cash for treating us like royalty yet again. Sundance has quickly become our favorite restaurant hands down!
We had a wonderful time. Our server, Jeff, was very low-key and attentive. The food and the cocktails were excellent.
Sundance really does provide great food and service. Always a pleasure dining here and looking forward to my next meal there.
Good food, yet over priced, e.g., $58 for a barely better than average steak, $18 for an okay glass of wine.
One of our party was celiac. Waiter was to give her her entree without the sauce. She took one bite and realized the error. Waiter did not offer to replace or bring clean plate.
Unfortunately we had a very negative experience - we had a reservation at 8 - we were not seated until 8:20 - then we waited 15 minutes to get water and bread - then to the food - our dinners were not cooked to our desired meat temps - but we decided to live with it because it was so late. And then it was an expensive dinner to boot - won't be going back-
A classic steakhouse with outstanding food and service. I always order the ribeye and a baked potato and finish off with their fantastic mudpie dessert. Their appetizers, entrees, side and desserts always seem to be of top quality. This place is always crowded and I can see why!
Very enjoyable! Consistently good food and service. Love the Sunset Menus!
The waiter was terrible (I've had others who are better there before), and the information he gave on the food was incorrect, and he paid almost no attention to us - never checked whether the food was OK. One member of the party got the prime rib (which is consistently good, although came less well cooked than ordered), but my "fish of the day," which is apparently always halibut was both small and a bit dry. Another person got the scallops were excellent. As a "going away" dinner for a colleague, it was disappointing.
This is the place for Prime Rib! Sundance has wonderful food with exceptionally great service. Only down side, avoid early dinners because this place can be crowded. Also don't expect to get a parking spot in the lot. Street parking on El Camino is available (usually).
We love Sundance and always feel special and well taken care of there. The food is amazing- we have had the steaks and the seafood and both are the highest quality. The drinks are also really fun! I can’t wait to go back!!
The food and service were wonderful. They even brought us a birthday dessert! We will be back!
Sundance is one of my favorite restaurants to go to! The food is always great and the servers are helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend!
Steak was really cooked to perfection! My husband was happy! Last time we ate, he did not like the way it was cooked. He loves steak and is quite picky :( . But this time -- everything was great!
Thank you for a great dinner! Service quality was great as well!
It was great, as usual. Jason our server was excellent. Food was wonderful.
