Located in the bustling River North dining scene, Sunda offers a vibrant Southeast Asian dining experience, blending the flavors of Japan, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and beyond. We elevate culturally significant dishes using high-quality ingredients and modern techniques. Our beverage program includes signature handcrafted cocktails, a robust sake and wine selection, and Asian whiskies and beers. Join us for weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm, or stop by during happy hour Monday to Friday from 4-6pm featuring $6 bar bites, handrolls, and beer, $9 cocktails and wine, and $10 sake. Had a table for 6 here on a Saturday night. The first issue started with our waiter not ever coming by to serve us, and when he finally did, he took our appetizer orders and promptly disappeared. We literally never saw him again and had to ask a bartender to check on our apps. From the time we asked the bartender to the time we actually got the apps was at least another 10-15 minutes, so it seemed like the first server didn’t even put in our order. We finally order our entrees and the food was some of the blandest Asian I’ve ever had. Would not return.

I always visit Sunda every time in Chicago. We’ve been coming here for years. I bring all my coworkers here . Unfortunately the food this time was a miss. The server recommended some items we haven’t tried before and it was not good at all. It was a disappointing visit this time around.

We had Moses as our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful! Took care of everything perfectly, was attentive, made sure to explain anything about what we ordered and made us feel extra special as first time diners. We’d love to come back, and can’t wait to dine with him again. Please, let him know how much we enjoyed our dining experience with him as the customer service was exemplary. It is truly hard to find in the world we live in today. Thank you, again.

She guided us through the evening with genuine enthusiasm and professionalism. Julia, who was replenishing water and clearing our table, also deserves high praise — she was incredibly attentive and efficient, always present without being intrusive. It’s rare to find such coordinated service. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Appetizers: •The Great White — fresh, clean, and packed with flavor, a perfect light start. •Oxtail Pot Stickers — savory, tender, and richly satisfying; they’re a must-try. •Truffle Tuna Pizza — decadent and delicate at once; the earthy truffle with the buttery tuna was divine.
