Okay experience overall. We waited about 10-15 minutes and a waiter/waitress did not come to our table so we asked the waitress at the next table if she knew who would be taking care of us. She was not assigned our table but ended up taking us since no one else had come yet. She hostess gave us an appetizer on the house because of this wait which was nice. Overall service was okay and food was good.
Ruby was friendly and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered several small plates to share. The food was well presented and delicious. Cocktails and wine were very good. Great dining experience!
Ruby was fantastic and super knowledgeable
I don’t typically like to give negative reviews but this experience deserves one. Went to Sunda for my husband’s birthday, it was 95 degrees outside- the restaurant’s AC was out!!! They were attempting to cool the place with fans and plug in air conditioners but it wasn’t working. They weren’t apologetic or very forthcoming, leading us to believe it was “starting to cool off”. We made it through our appetizers, by then we had sweat running down our back and decided to take our entrees home. The poor waiters were sweating as well.
We would have appreciated the hostess informing us of their AC situation on the front end so we could choose whether to stay. Doubt we’ll ever go back simply due to poor customer service.
Not worth it. Heard great reviews, but the atmosphere was similar to a PF Chang’s style chain restaurant. I was told my entree would be delayed and yet when it arrived it was still undercooked and inedible. However, our server was very pleasant and attentive, and the roti tacos were delicious.
Wonderful food, service from Zealia, the manager stopped by to ask us and the food was fresh, tasty and amazing,
The AC wasn’t working. Other than that it was very good
I come here to have their miso cauliflower which is phenomenal… then I experiment with the entire menu. Great food and cocktails!
I brought my son & his girlfriend to Sunda for the sushi making class. This was one of his birthday gifts. Sadly, the air conditioner in the restaurant was broken. The temp in the restaurant was unbearable. The experience was gravely affected b/c of how uncomfortable we were….especially the birthday person. The manager said they had been have an issue for weeks
Good food and portion size
Bad food, did not meet expectations
Went there for our daughters sweet 16th birthday. We would definitely visit again when back in Nashville.
The food was fantastic, great flavors and well sized portions. Great recommendations from staff on things to try.
Service was terrible.. food is not that good for the price. Literally waited almost 20 mins to be seen by a server and an extra 20-30 mins till she was available to take my order. Notified the manager and he didn’t even care. Terrible time
This was our first time back post pandemic. It wasn’t at all what I remembered. The service was “meh.” The cocktails were syrupy sweet. The food - with the exception of the sushi roll - was not on par with what was being charged. The Midori roll was one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. Hands down. Just kind of bummed that most everything was less than what we’ve experienced here before.
Overall an excellent experience. We took our 19 year old son and four friends for a birthday dinner. Service was great! Atmosphere was great! The food was yummy! And we are foodies. My husband order Pad Thai, one of his favorites, and generally a safe bet. It had alot of onions. It had almost as many onions as the noodles. He is not an onion fan, so only expected a few. If onions are not entirely your thing, I would steer away from the Pad Thai. We ordered Korean Fried Chicken Steamed buns, Tiger Shrimp Tempura, Miso Cauliflower, and Wagyu Crispy rice for appetizers. We were feeding a small army! Everything was devoured. Several ordered the Panda roll and everyone ate every bite. Others ordered Pork Adobo Fried Rice and Crazy Rice and shared among the group, which everyone loved. Couple of comments about how hot the Crazy Rice was. During dinner, there were many comments about the great music selection. I enjoyed it too, we do not always agree on good music. Our Waitress was attentive, accommodating and explained all dishes. We will definitely be going back!
Place always hits. Server was incredible and we all had a great time
Birthday celebration with family. Great food. Knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. Loved it!
It was a beautiful location. A friend and I did brunch on Sunday. I liked the menu because it want typical breakfast fare. The grilled pimento cheese with pork belly and the sushi were fantastic. Pot stickers, Brussels sprouts, egg rolls left a lot to be desired. Enjoyed it but probably won’t return. Nothing impressive and there are so many other GOOD places that leave an impression on the tastebuds.
"The Great White" was quite literally a culinary experience. Worth going just for that.
Chris, the bartender, took care of us on the patio. He was excellent and we had a great time. The food and drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back.
Our waiter’s recommendations were spot on. I will definitely go back. Also the host Ben gave us so many wonderful things to do in the area. Great night!
I love Sunda - it is a must for locals and tourist.
Parking was a nightmare. Had to park in a lot and only method of payment was an Uber app on my phone. No valet parking or street parking available. Music was not too bad but way too loud (what's new). Our waiter, Kevin was outstanding and very patient with us as this was our first visit. What irked me about the parking was that I received no online warning about the complexity. If I go back, doubtful, I will likely take an Uber, i.e. if I can get one. It is a very pretty place with great food but bring your earplugs.
Diverse options, great waiter, good experience
Nashville Native. Wanted to try something new. The reviews were excellent so I took our friends. I loved the decor. Very cool and open. The food though was the rockstar. Excellent. Completely new take on all kinds of Asian fare. It's family style so don't freak out when you see the prices. Each portion easily feeds 4 people. They also have an extensive Japanese whiskey! Plenty of parking around the corner. Just a great night out.
Shushi was good enough, but it was overpriced for what you get. Pretty food if you’re into that sort of thing. I’m not.
We were seated right at our reservation time. Service was terrific and the food outstanding.
Went for the first weekend of Nashville Brunch! Not only was the food great but everyone was VERY dedicated to making sure it was success.
Had the brussel sprouts they were phenomenal, had shrimp tempura roll was great, shrimp skewers, hand rolled sushi rolls and the seaweed salted French fries. Everything was flavorful came out quick as well. Definitely will be back!
We were meeting old friends and Sunda was the best experience to do it. The service and food was amazing 🤩
Food is always great here. Service can be spotty but we were quite pleased last night. Any time there is a decently staffed restaurant (and Sunda WAS), we are happy!
The spicy edamame was delicious! The vibe was PERFECT! AMAZING service!
Can’t wait to go back and try other items. Wonderful menu.
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever seen in the world. The food is unique. The portion sizes vary. I ordered broiled vegetables in a curry sauce. The vegetables were crispy on the outside and cooked just enough on the inside but certainly not overcooked. The curry on the bottom of the plate that the vegetables were served in had a unique flavor unlike any curry I have ever tasted. It was presented on the vegan menu as a main course, but it was not enough to satisfy an adult appetite. That was not a problem though because I also ordered a chop chop salad and that was enough for three of us to share and there were still leftovers for the next day. This is a great place to go with a group of people, order several dishes and share. In all, we ordered three main dishes and the salad and had plenty of food. There was a mix up in the kitchen and they brought out the wrong salad at first. They quickly corrected and then offered us complementary dessert. The blood orange sorbet was exquisite.
Pork Belly bites were delicious.
loved it, food was great I already want to come back
Very bad service and drinks were watery(lots of margaritas ordered)..
Poor service of wait staff
Will go elsewhere with all the new restaurants opening in Nashville currently
Overall it was a great experience. The food and drinks were great as well as the service. Sadly they didn’t have the Japanese whisky drink on their cocktail list. Other than that it was a great date night.
