Does eating at Sunda feel like eating in the club? Yes, but you don't have to love the ChampagnePapi lifestyle to love this restaurant.
Good food. The oxtail potstickers stood out the most, along with their rolls. Would recommend and go again
Sisters birthday. Waitress was dope🤝
One of my favorites. You can’t go wrong!
Great Sushi, probably the best Sushi restaurant in downtown area.
Too noisy and chaotic -avoid cocktails - useless and high priced. Go for wine or Beer. Food portions are small - some dishes are creative and good but not outstanding for an upscale place like this. We went there one year ago -liked it but their quality has changed
Sunda us always excellent from the minute you step in the door. The food is amazing and service is outstanding!!
Food & service were amazing! Tried lots of dishes, the oxtail dumplings & salad with Brussel Sprouts were my favorite!
Great service and food but not for trying to have a conversation! Way too loud!
The service was VERY slow. We told the waitress we needed to be in and out in a specific time and she was completely neglectful. We were a half hour late to our appointment following lunch because of it.
Had dinner on a Monday night with my teenage daughter and her friend. The restaurant was packed, very lively. We sat in the front near the street at the high tops. Food and service was great. We are all gluten-free and they offered an extensive GF menu. Two thumbs up!
I visited during lunch, the place was busy. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the menu. Tuna poke bowl was great as was the sushi. Prices were a little on the high side for lunch, but it’s downtown Chicago. I would definitely return!
I had friends from out of town - the first time in Chicago.
The service was very slow. I think the waiter forgot about us. I reminded him several times about our drink order and dinner and apps order. It was busy but no excuse for poor service. Especially for a high end restaurant
This was very disappointing as I live in Chicago and was hoping to give my friends a nice experience. Service is very important
Both the food and the service were impeccable as usual! My third visit in three years and Sunda never disappoints!!
Pretty good over all. Service was a little slow though.
Very understaffed. Friend's food was ice cold, 2nd try was overlooked and tough. My food was barely warm. Staff made it seem "too hard" to separate only 3 checks. Bloody Mary garnishes never refilled.
Great unique menu, Brussel sprout salad is out of this world. Love the lemongrass beef lollipops! Cheesecake was great too
We thought the food was good and so was our server. The noise level was painful. Sitting across from one another we had to lean in and shout to speak to each other. Even then it was difficult to hear. That would be a huge drawback to my wanting to go there again.
Some of the best Asian food! We really enjoyed the lumpia and crazy rice.
What an amazing find, best Sushi ever, great service food was so good and served in a good time. The taste of the food was superb , I want to go right back it was that good, quite noisy inside apart from that first class
Party of 4 promptly seated on a Thursday night. Sunda is so good they take being so good for granted. Cocktails are diverse & interesting (and moderately priced for Chicago.) Food items come out in waves, so some choices arrived ahead or behind others, making the dinner flow uneven. The place is always very busy (and loud), but some of our dinner choices got lost in the hustle, and we had non-acceptable wait times. Food preparation was excellent. Best choices were the Tuna & Crispy Rice, and Beef-steak Lollipops. Total bill + tip = $375
Ordered Shishito peppers - one pepper was mega spicy after that they were quite tasty
Duck Buns - had bones in 2 of them. Wasn’t fun.
Mushroom Dish - probably was the best thing I had there
Pad Thai - was super oily.
Crunchy Pig, Hidden Lobster, the flavor in this was indeed hidden. No flavor and we thought the bacon bits were literally Baco’s. Very disappointing.
Overall we had fun, the dishes weren’t bad, but they weren’t great for the price point. The hidden Lobster is $25 and had like no flavor. Our waiter, the service and staff were great though.
Service was great and the food was phenomenal. Very attentive to allergies too!
I have a food allergy and our server was great at helping us choose and customize dishes. Everything we had was outstanding!
Sunda never disappoints. Our server, Allison, was friendly, attentive and great with helping to suggest selections for lunch. Perfect amount of spice and portions are always more than enough. This is our go-to place for Asian cuisine in Chicago.
Great food. Too loud. Super expensive. Friendly, fast service.
The best Asian food I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommended
Trendy Asian fusion restaurant with great food.
Too loud. Please put noise mitigation measures in place.
The sweet potato and lobster / waygu roll were SPOT on and absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back again!
Awesome food. Great drink menu. Great portion sizes
Always great food and great service. Never disappoints! Love it!!
Second time.... just great!
The food was great! Nice variety of choices. Everything was fantastic. Had the lobster stuffed shisito peppers which were on special. The red dragon roll was amazing! We also had the pad thai- I would skip that next time. Service was excellent. Will return again and again!! The only down falls were the tables were very close together and it was extremely loud in there, hard to hear each other and even the server had to yell.
Food was amazing! They don’t split checks though. With a big party it’s not ideal. They make you write down how much to put on each card. We had 7 people in our group and after the put money on each card we still got an individual check but were overcharged.
Food was really good. Service was excellent. Overall more expensive than it should have been. I have had way better $200 meals.
Good to try once. Not running back.
A wonderful, big menu. Everything is executed so well.
Food was okay, pacing was weird and uneven.
But so noisy I would not recommend
Nice good, rather loud
