We got seated 15 minutes after our reservations. Then waited another 20 minutes for a waiter. They forgot two meals and my friend didn’t get to eat until I was done eating dinner. Food was very average we got oxtail dumplings “spicy edamame” which was not spicy at all just burnt. Then we got garlic noodles which were cold unfortunately but the flavoring was average nothing special. We got the red dragon roll it was good but too much rice. And my friend waited 50 minutes for chicken pad Thai and it wasn’t even good unfortunately. Overall the aesthetic was very nice and great for a fun night but the service and food were just not it.
Absolutely abysmal after being a fan for many years I wouldn’t go back if you paid me. Sat down and ordered then zippo. Yes they were busy but no food and the waiter was beyond useless, didn’t care and didn’t apologize. I complained to management and finally the food came, it was mediocre and not warm. Horrible experience, many more places to go in Chicago, save your money
Food ok. Drinks ok. All ok. But Chicago has better to offer.
Weekend getaway and everyone recommended we go we were extremely pleased . We are from LA and just moved to Michigan so really missing the Asian fusion food scene !
The meal was wonderful as was our granddaughter’s birthday celebration. For some reason we are always given the worst possible table even though we are frequent diners and had a rsvp. This time we insisted on a quieter location.
We enjoyed sushi and drinks. Drinks were amazing and we would definitely come again.
Waiters were nice and somewhat attentive. Food was salty mostly salty, not much innovative or variety for a fusion restaurant. Desert was average. For the price of the food, I would not return here.
Great experience and food. Music was a bit loud.
An overall incredible experience. Everything was SO good!
Always a great experience here, that’s why they have such a long run in the River North, a very competitive area for food and ambience
Everything was great. Just a little too loud.
I would definitely not eat here again.
Celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday with a few friends. They sat us in the perfect table towards the back which made it easier to talk given it is very loud in there! The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing. We will definitely be back.
It was so insanely loud we were screaming to hear each other
The server was so nice. The service was great and the food was delicious. We celebrated my mother’s birthday as well as had our first business dinner of the week. This was a great choice and I would definitely come back when we are in Chicago again.
Waitress was very accommodating when we ordered something we didn’t end up liking. We appreciated this so much. Incredible food, fun vibe
Great food and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the Dragon Roll.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff! Amazing food and portion sizes. Cant wait to come back!
Very loud. Couldn’t hear anyone and had to repeat order several times to waitress
slow service. was sat slow. missing item that was ordered and never came out.
I've dined at Sunda several times in the past. Food is always phenomenal but I have no recollection of the music ever being at a Vegas nightclub decibel like it was this past weekend. What could have been a chic, soothing dinner experience with a simple deescalation to both volume and genre was instead a nightmarish Zedd concert with confusingly delicious food. Buyer beware.
Get the Oxtail potstickers while they're back, they are fantastic!
As a long-time resident, Sunda is definitely one of my new favorites! worth the stop
I don’t know…it was pretty expensive for what I thought was “good” sushi. I’ve been to another sushi restaurant on Rush Street many times and thought it was much better and half the cost. As for ambience, the place was packed and I was less than 6 inches from the guest of a neighboring table. And it was loud. I’m glad I tried it, I guess, but I won’t go there again.
Great ambiance and food for a date or special occasion. Highly recommend ordering the Crispy Rice, Brussel Sprout Salad, and Honey Tempura Shrimp! Best when you’re willing to spend a bit more.
Waited 15 before a server came to our table. Another server noticed and picked up our table and she was great! Made up for the poor initial service
Everything we had was delicious! The Szechuan Chicken was amazing and so were the sushi roles we had - crunchy pig, hidden lobster, & red dragon. Baked snow crab hand roll was good! Our server was great!
Sunda used to be a great place. The last experience I had was so frustrating and really made me think that almost everything about that restaurant deteriorated.
From the quality of food to the noise level, It will be hard to recommend that place anymore.
Plus, they did not even have that tasty cocktail anymore that had food with.
Oh well, time to look for another restaurant to frequent …
Haven't been there in awhile but found the same high quality food, great service and fun atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.
Ambiance was great it was just freezing inside.
Great Food.. Amazing service. Great energy all around.
Excellent place , food amazing great experience
Great dinner! Attentive wait staff and everything we tried was better than the last! Will definitely go back. Only downside is that it is not inexpensive!
Fantastic food and service!
The ambiance, service and food was great. It gets to be a little hard to hear someone if they are sitting across from you (big party) and selfishly speaking I was interested in conversation since all the friends hadn’t been together In Awhile, but it was a delightful experience. Cheers
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday.
The food was excellent, as always, and service was great too
We celebrated our 3rd year wedding anniversary yesterday afternoon; the ambiance was absolutely amazing, the food was spectacular, and we were gifted with a mouth-watering dessert. We can’t WAIT to come back - thank you to all who made our experience delightful!
We went to Sunda to celebrate a raise I just received at work. Our server was great and very knowledgeable. The food was AMAZING (we ordered the Wagyu crispy rice twice because it was so good). We also ordered the sweet potato caterpillar and the chicken pad Thai. We will definitely visit again. The only parts that weren’t amazing were the drinks which were delicious but didn’t have as much alcohol as we would have thought for $18 each, and it was very loud at 9:00 on a Friday night. But we still enjoyed our visit!
Another great experience with a an awesome server! Jennifer always makes our visit in wonderful
Great vibes, great food
