I had a dry overcooked hamburger, I asked for rare as possible, and the large deli pickle tasted like bathroom cleaner smells. I ordered sweet potato fries but got reg French fry’s. Mixed drink tasted like plain water.

I was, personally, very disappointed. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, which is the only sandwich I eat and it was TERRIBLE. This so called grilled cheese sandwich had almost no cheese at all. The hummus was just okay.

Breathtaking views with excellent service and food. The Sun Valley Club remains one of the most pleasant and civilized dining experiences in the Wood River Valley. The limited but excellent menu is all top-notch, with first class ingredients and fine culinary technique. It is a must for us when we visit Sun Valley.

This is a beautiful location and lunch is very relaxing. The service is fantastic. The service and food arrival is slow but it’s ok because you go there to be relaxed. However I do believe the food quality is not as good as it was several years ago. And they ran out of fish and chips (a menu staple) by 1:30 on a Wednesday, reflecting that management is not paying attention to demand perhaps.

Our waitress came after 15 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink. Then she came back 10 minutes later letting us know she forgot what we ordered and asked us again. Then when she brought our drinks we asked if we could give her our food order. We repeated the food order 3 times for her so she could get it correctly. Then after 45 minutes we flagged our waitress down and asked if she could check and see if our food would be out soon. She went back to the kitchen and then came back and asked us what we ordered. We gave her our order, again. She then went back to the kitchen for the 2nd time and came back to our table to let us know she never put our order in. Needless to say we left the SV Clubhouse to take my 81 year old mother to eat somewhere else. It wasn’t even very busy, there were quite a few empty tables at that point inside since it was already 1:45- 2 pm at the restaurant. YIKES!

Food is good, but expensive. No one would answer the phone for reservations after calling 3 times. I finally made reservations on line. Then there was no one at the hostess stand for at least 15 minutes. The waitress, although charming, was slow. I suspect that was a kitchen issue. Someone needs to up the game at this entire resort.

All three meals arrived almost cold not even warm. The hamburger ordered medium came rare so not even warm. The only thing that had any temperature to them were the fries. New chef, new menu - is that the problem for the excellent meals we have had there in the past?

This time I was treating a friend to lunch. We both enjoyed the always perfect clam chowder. The accompanying roll is freshly baked & fluffy. I’d suggest offering a side of butter as an option (& freshly ground pepper). The tradition of the complementary hot chocolate chip cookie is a fun treat at the end of the meal. Thank you!

Mike is super consistent as the bartender, and Fran from Croatia is always a true delight. Somehow this SV facility always seems to get the food and service spot on. There are rarely inconsistencies, AND they actually rotate the menu. Only downside is the Tu//We closures.
