Great girls night out at Summit House- staff always courteous and food excellent. I made a special request and they accommodated me with a smile on their face. Thanks for a great evening!
This is fourth try and place is batting .500. Inconsistent in my view and with limited funky menu and more pricey than most i would place it mid pack for Summit and surrounding.
Normally we live this place. Tonight the service was terrible. Food took forever to come to table. Some was over cooked and others were lukewarm or cold by the time we got them. No explanation and the restaurant wasn’t busy and much of the staff looked bored.
Had a lovely time. Food was very delicious. Our server was attentive. Lovely seats - we had a great time! Will definitely come back again!
Special short rib appetizer was great. We enjoyed the duck and the scallops as main dishes. And the service made it an especially lovely evening - thanks Kat!
Absolutely! Great wait staff, superb food, wish the noise was not an issue.
Fabulous. Our waiter Peter went above and beyond. My wife wanted a spicy cocktail and they invented one on the spot that is her new favorite.
The restaurant was busy and loud. The seating setup in the front was terrible with the people at the bar butting up against diners. We had a party of 6 and our waiter was noticably disinterested in serving us or helping us in any way. We ordered two bottles of wine and they were out of both of them. The wine he suggested was completely dissimilar from the cabernet we had originally ordered. And, not shockingly, wayyyy more expensive. The short rib appetizer was expensive and TERRIBLE. The food was too rich and loaded with sauce and the service was terrible. Every item was overpriced, food and drink and we will likely not be returning.
It was our second dinner at Summit house. The reservation was for 6:30. We got our table at 6:35, the appetizers were brought in around 7pm, then main course was served at 7 :45, to our standards is very long wait for the food to be served.
You could tell that the management could not handle the crowd.
Although, the food was superb.
Wonderful food in a great city of Summit
Great restaurant to add to the list. Food was excellent. Highly recommend it.
Wait staff was an absolute disaster. We started our dinner talking to a couple next to us about their bad experience. We ended our dinner talking to another couple about their (and our) bad experience.
I ordered a grilled octopus appetizer. I was served a piece of fried octopus that was wildly overfried. Waiter disappeared on us and never took our entree order. I had to flag him down 30 mins after appetizer came to order entree. I ordered a medium rare steak. It came well done.
We finally got entrees and ate. Plates were left sitting for 10 mins after we finished. I flagged down the waiter, told him to clear our plates, told him to fill our water, and told him to give us dessert menus.
Quality of service is a big problem.
Everything was just wonderful.
The food was incredible, and the awesome staff made it a very special event for my husbands 40th Birthday!
Food was excellent, atmosphere great, service good
Food was a great surprise. Very tasty. Overall, a winning experience.
Excellent experience. Service and food was wonderful. Great city ambience
Salad and bread were as delicious as always. The scallops were not nearly as good as they were in Jan. The pork belly, which seemed much more like thick-cut bacon, was far too tough and in large strips rather than the small cubes it had been in. The celeriac purée was not nearly as good as the braised little cubes of celery root which were served in Jan. Altogether a sloppier, lazier variation of the original incredibly delicious entree.
Amazing food, great service- it’s a little loud.
Our favorite restaurant in Summit
We went for Saturday night dinner. The decor was very attractive. We had a 6 PM reservation and we were first arrived the noise level was fine and we could hold a conversation. However we were seated in the front section near the bar and the sound level kept increasing. By the end of the meal it was so loud that conversation was no longer possible. The appetizers we had were all excellent. For entrees, we had the scallops, the duck and the rabbit. The scallops and duck were excellent but the rabbit was mostly pasta and very little meat. Overall it was kind of a mixed experience with the increasing noise level and the disappointing rabbit entree.
Very nice experience. Will definitely recommend and revisit
Th service was a little slow, which shouldn’t be the case as the restaurant was not even full.
Good food, excellent service, reasonable price. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. Our server was very pleasant, attentive and well informed about the menu choices. A very good evening and I will be going again.
It was very nice!
We were there for brunch on my husband’s birthday yesterday. Our server was fantastic, the food was delicious, the dining room is a good balance of sophisticated casual. There’s plenty of parking in the lot behind the building.
There was only one drawback which just made us feel crappy, or at least taken for granted. We were a 2-top next to one of the round corner booths in the front dining room, and I guess the folks in the corner table (dressed in sweatpants and Nikes) were some sort of VIPs. They were boasting about their house in LBI and its boat slip. The manager must have gone over to that table 5 times during the course of the meal. He also made the rounds with many of the other tables in the restaurant, but never checked-in with us. I wouldn’t care except that it felt, given how much time he spent with the table next to us, as if we were being avoided. Being a gay couple, it felt a little discriminatory. Next time I’m in the mood for brunch, I’ll go to Winberie’s.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend!
The service was off. We never got bread ( which is a highlight it’s so good) until we asked for it and it showed up when we were almost done eating. My husbands beer had to be requested again and the food was good not great this time. Not sure I’ll go back but love the space.
This restaurant is great. The food and the service are excellent.
We had a business dinner there. The atmosphere was quiet so we were able to discuss without shouting.
I tried the duck, a spicy dish with a lot of flavors.
Will definitely come back!
We visited Summit House this past Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The place is great - really wonderful ambiance and so many thoughtful touches in terms of the decor. The hostess was lovely and had us seated within just a few minutes of our reservation. Our waiter was good - checked in on us just enough. We started with a special egg noodle appetizer that was really out of this world; the depth of flavors and textures was SO good. Also shared charcuterie meat/cheese boards - cheeses were delicious and the chorizo was some of the best I've had. For dinner, he had the burger and I had the scallops. The scallops were cooked to perfection (slightly crisp and browned on the outside but soft on the inside) and served with a nicely balanced celery puree and some apple/bacon combo. We split the chocolate pudding for dessert which was a huge hit. The only complaint was the loud, obnoxious group next to us but at no fault at all of SH. We'll definitely be back!
The food was absolutely terrible! I’ve been there before where the food was great. I’ve been there where the food was just OK but this past Saturday the food was inedible. And at $250 a couple for dinner they should be horribly embarrassed.
Great wine choices. Fresh and high quality food. Great bar scene. Wonderful service
Very disappointing experience at Summit House this evening (2/2). Normally both the service and food are excellent but tonight was a very poor experience on both fronts. The burgers were salty and over-cooked with the fries on the side served ice cold. My vegetarian plate was wrong twice and I eventually gave up as everyone else had finished heir meals. Our waitress kept forgetting to bring our requested drinks and brought us a check without offering dessert or coffee as an option...
Our server, Peter, was amazing!
We had to call their attention to order, we waited at least 30 min after we finished eating for them to clear our plates and they forgot to bring the dessert for my friend to celebrate her birthday.
Very nice lunch. Great atmosphere - food and service were excellent. Good for business or personal. Staff were personable too
Compared to other fine-dining options in the area, Summit House is the best. It doesn't feel stuffy, the decor is beautiful and warm, and food and service are top notch. The cocktails are also delicious. Highly recommend for a nice night out.
Great service,good food,just a little loud.
After hearing how great this place was we made a reservation for a Friday night. Great looking bar and décor. Problem is when you go to a trendy, expensive restaurant, I expect the service will be as good as the reputation. Summit House did not deliver at all in that category. While it looked like there were plenty of people working, it took forever for drinks and meal to be served and then for our plates to be cleared. Food was good but not great. Looks like a better place to go for a drink than dinner until they can provide a more profession level of service.
