The service was a little slow, I ordered the Korean fried chicken sandwich, the chicken had a thick layer of fat which was unappealing. I couldn’t eat it. It had taken so long to come that I didn’t want to order something else that needed to be prepared. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, the shrimp were not flavorful.
The lunch menu could have been better if they had a fish sandwich option.
The hostess and wait staff were great. Very nice and accommodating. The place is beautiful. The food was was just o.k. and thus highly disappointing. It took forever for our food to arrive as well. We did not complain, or even mention it, because we were having a nice time and did not mind. But the waitress came over with a complimentary glass of red wine so I suppose she was aware it was taking way too long. The waitress raved about the halibut so my colleague ordered it. It was over-cooked. She also recommended the pork chop so I ordered that. It lacked flavor. The asparagus was so overcooked it was mush. I tried to cut it but it could not be cut. Just mush. I had to mention that to the waitress when she came to clear the plates since we did not touch the asparagus because it was so bad. (I normally don't expect anything to be taken off the bill but that asparagus should have come off rather than the free red wine no one drank).
I will give the place another shot and go back some other day but not right now.
Great restaurant that fits to Summit. Sound could be a little more discrete. Loved the fact that the windows were open.
We had a terrific meal, the staff was courteous and accommodating of one of our party member's allergy to gluten. The cook staff went above and beyond, making sure each of us enjoyed our meals to the fullest extent. We will be going back very soon and recommend to all who are interested. The new menu is especially well curated, yet the best dish is still the chicken liver!
Fun atmosphere and good food. Nice to have a bar too
I loved this place! Food and service by Josh were exceptional! Will definitely be going back!
Poor hostess manners. Flavorful dishes, nicely served. Fair service by waiter. Could consider repeating due to quality of food.
Design and detail fantastic
Meal was exceptional
The food is so so, they changed the menu and now it seems they are just over charging people without telling them. We came here for special occasion dinner and the waiter was already rude by keep asking us to order main course. Then he was not energetic talking about the menu at all, that shall already be a tell tale sign... I say let them go out of business so the space can be used for someone else who care about their food and service.
Seat at the bar. Great house cocktail menu. Solid food selection.
Always a great place to gather and share delicious food and drinks
The noise level is deafening. It is nearly impossible to have anything remotely approaching a normal conversation. Moreover, the service was less than ideal. Our appetizers came almost immediately but we did not see the entries for more than an hour. To make matters worse, the staff did very little - other than to advise that there was a minor disturbance in the kitchen causing the extraordinary delay, despite the fact that it was almost 10pm and very few people still in the restaurant - to alleviate the situation.
One of my favorite meals of THE YEAR. If I lived closer, I would be here every month! Thanks so much for an awesome experience. Cheers, Barney
Fun spot! Interesting cocktails. Lengthy wine list. Upscale vibe.
I have been to Summit House on more than one occasion. I live in town and was really looking forward to it opening. Unfortunately, I have now eaten here about 6-7 times and each time I hope it’s going to win me over. The ingredients are great but it seems like they are trying to hard. The food looks great but it never tastes that great. There is always one thing on the plate that ruins it. Sometimes less is more. The appetizers are all seafood. To me, a farm to table type restaurant needs to have specials. The menu, rarely changes. It’s also super loud. You can’t hear the conversations being had at your own table. The drinks are great but expensive.
Great dining experience - fresh décor, excellent menu choices. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautiful as well. We were there to celebrate a special occasion, which we advised the restaurant of in advance and mentioned while toasting at the table. The restaurant did not acknowledge the occasion in any way. This was disappointing given other local dining options where a special occasion is truly treated as special. While we'd recommend Summit House based on the food, we would not necessarily recommend it for a special occasion. To feel special, you'd want to likely go elsewhere.
Lovely service for an anniversary dinner
Service was excellent and the ambience was great. Unfortunately the food was boring, unimaginative and tasteless.
What a gem! We didn’t know what to expect but from walking in to end of meal, the service was fantastic and food was tasty! We appreciated the general manager stopping by and the server remembering little details. We were here for a special occasion and they went out of their way to make us feel like honored guests and were flexible even when we were running late to our reservation. My family had a great time and you will too!
Jane is awesome. We go there just for her
The food here is really outstanding, but pricey. We waited a really long time for our entree to arrive - server apologizes. Otherwise, service was OK.
We love dining here and came for special father's day brunch. They set up the screen so we could watch the us open while dining. They make the best old fashioned drinks in town. The chicken liver is always our favorite to start. Rich and decadent. I was full by the time my steak and eggs arrived. Not offered for this event, but the cavatelli pasta starter is also a fan favorite. The service is impeccable.
Price fix menu a tad high but overall good
Excellent night with my wife. The food and service were excellent
What can I say, Jane was awesome in her knowledge and description of the menu. The kitchen did not let her down in the quality and presentation of our meal. Ten stars for Jane!
The quality of the food and the service were every bit as good as what we’d get at the same price point in NYC. The menu was innovative, and we were treated so kindly. I’d rather go here than into the city for a special occasion.
Excellent fresh food! Our server assisted us with splitting dishes to try more items on the menu.
Always have an incredible dining experience at Summit House!
I've frequented this restaurant more than 20 times and each one is a treat. I love everything about the restaurant... the hospitality, food, decor, service, location. Food is always wonderful.
My husband and I had a reservation for 8:00. We showed up twenty minutes early and asked if we could sit at the bar and enjoy a drink before being seated. The hostess first said our table would be a minute then proceeded to tell us that the kitchen was closing in an hour so we should just "wait for our table!" Our waiter would not allow us to order appetizers and then select our dinner which is what we do because we aren't sure what we would like most occasions. Our waiter said and I quote "It is easier for the kitchen if I can put it in all at once." As new parents we don't get out often but typically choose somewhere very special when we do. The food was fresh. The octopus was very good. There was a leafy green in the Halibut that over powered the dish but the fish was cooked perfectly and the puree on the side was heavenly. It is a shame because based on the food alone I would return but because of the way we were treated we won't be back.
Excellent food and top notch service! Just a little too noisy for a relaxing Sunday brunch.
Second time here with just my wife and I. The first time we were with another couple. What brought us back was the great food, ambiance and more importantly the service. I spoke to the manager about our server(probable an off night) but she just couldn't get it right. Either way the GM called us and invited us back to experience the restaurant as we know it. Other than our waitress having an off night this place deserves all 5's.
We loved this place! Great food, great ambiance, good drinks! We went for our anniversary and were extremely impressed! Beautiful restaurant too!
One of the best meals ever!
Great atmosphere, great steak and will definitely come back
Delicious food and superb staff
Amazing as usual! Great way to celebrate our anniversary.
This is my third visit to the Summit House, and I've loved it every time I'm there. The food is so good, I haven't tasted anything I don't like (so far). Of course I plan on coming more; it's one of those places that I don't think you can get tired of. The first (and second time) I had the pork chop, because I loved it so much, I had to have it again. The second time, I took my friend for her birthday and we ordered the chicken liver appetizer....OMG...if you happen to be one of the lucky ones to like chicken liver; please order it...you will be glad you did. The third time, I ordered the duck; and it was beautifully cooked; I left my plate empty...ok, I think I always leave my plate empty...oooops! The staff is very friendly and attentive; and just the overall ambiance is very nice as well. Great place....can never go wrong with it!
The food was excellent as always. Unfortunately the service, though polite, was awful.
We asked for one dish to be served with our drinks. It was brought out with the entries. My guest waited an unacceptable amount of time for her second cocktail.
It would be a good value if they could get the service right. I have been there at least a have dozen times and the service has been consistently POO, unless it is off hours. Makes me think about going back.
The management is frazzled and disorganized.
Great. Went with two good friends to celebrate of their birthdays. This is our go-to place for special occasions. Best food in Summit!
