Summit Grill and Bar - Kansas City
Great food, better company!
We had a great meal and fantastic service. Our server Laura was great.
Josh was wonderful! It was also nice to make a last minute reservation for 8 and get in. Food was delicious as usual, the main reason we keep coming back!
Enjoyed it! Worth our drive. We had a nice family dinner. Good selection of wines.
I was upset that our reservation was not checked in. I had to call back to the restaurant to get them to change it. It said that I cancelled my reservation and in fact we did show up on time. Austin, the server was great. The host was ok, kind of nonchalant, almost hesitant to come seat us. The food was great though. I like the prices for happy hour.
Had the fried shrimp appetizer and the pulled pork street tacos before sharing the summit burger. All cooked to perfection and fabulous.
Best Restaurant in Waldo. A menu that has something for everyone and excellent drinks
Our first time here and my wife and I were impressed. Since Houstons closed we’ve been looking for a similar restaurant . We will be back to your establishment.
I've consistently had great food at Summit Grill. The last few times I've been there, I've had to wait a long time for a server to be assigned to the table. I noticed it happening to other people as well. The servers themselves are friendly, but that initial wait is 10 minutes +.
We had a large party and Our waiter did a great job coordinating everything. Everyone’s food was great and we were glad we were seated on the bar side of the restaurant. It seems like the restaurant is set up wrong… It’s so dark in the back and seems of the bar ran the other direction that both sides of the restaurant to get some light
The food was excellent and the service was good too. It was a Spring evening and we enjoyed the patio doors being open. It was a great dining experience!
Very good food, just very pricy and noisy for the price.
Monthly gathering with some friends from Liberty, MO. They had never eaten at Summit Grill and were willing to make the drive to the Waldo location. Everyone loved their food! The spinach dip was excellent and the shrimp appetizer was divine. Our friends ordered steak and the chicken fried chicken and they both said they were so good. My husband order the pot roast and I got the fish tacos. So delicious! Ended the evening with their some more ice cream and creme brûlée desserts. Outstanding! We’ve never had a bad meal there. It is loud though so consider yourself warned. We got there during happy hour but they only run the specials in the bar area. That was way too loud for us to be able to visit so we opted for the dining room side instead. As loud as it is there, they should allow the happy hour specials throughout the entire restaurant.
It was so loud that a table of 6 could not have a conversation. I couldn't hear the other end of the table. To be fair, food was great. Service was poor...we had to ask where a couple of our drink orders were twice. Plus they added 20%gratuity and didn't tell us.
I'm probably never going back.
For whatever reason the wait time for me our food was exceptionally long. Unusual for this restaurant. Our food was very good.
Service seems a little bit strained because it seems to take awhile to get service. However, when the server finally got to us he was super nice (a little overwhelmed and would forget parts of our orders) but overall really sweet guy.
We showed up for brunch, and didn’t get our drink orders taken for at least 25 minutes after being sat.
Usually enjoyable. Eating my burger... Pulled a long hair out of my bite of burger. Of course they took off bill, but that ruined it for me. Hairnets?
Our waiter had the kitchen split our shared salad and entree in the kitchen. We greatly appreciated that gesture and our delicious meal. The green beans were way undercooked making it difficult to cut with a knife and unchewable. We will return.
The bartender was pretty rude and didn’t ask what kind of mimosas we wanted. Our server was amazing though. He catered to our every need.
My only complaint was the noise level. Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, food quality and menu offerings were great (best carbonara I have EVER had). But they have GOT to do something to control the noise. I could go back there with a big group gathering for a party or sit at the bar but I could not take a date or someone I want to have a conversation with. Almost there guys...almost there.
We loved our experience tonight for a happy hour. The service was fantastic!
I would not recommend the Kansas City location. I had brunch there for my birthday, party of 6, and the service was terrible!
Just was very unsatisfied in our experience today at Summit. We usually go here for brunch and lunch and today was just terrible. Service took forever and the food was throw together and a greasy mess.. threw off a good Sunday Funday
Honestly, this has been one of the most unimpressive services I've experienced. The waitress seemed to clearly pay more attention to other tables. Our drinks were left empty several times. It took nearly 30 minutes order our food. I'll be back but won't want to be seated in her section again.
Had brunch at Summit Grill. Atmosphere is great for a cozy breakfast and gathering.
Food was so yummy, we are still bragging about it. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely would recommend. The noise level and the configuration of the tables and chairs made it difficult to hear the person right next to you and we had to keep moving our chairs forward for servers and the guests at the tables behind us. For those two reasons only the score was not a perfect 5.
The trout special was amazing!. Have eaten here many times over the years this is the best meal I have had.
Annie was our waitress and she was great. Thank you!
We arrived on time for our reservation and were greeted by very friendly staff. Upon arriving we requested a table in GREG’s section of the dining room. The host told us it might me a few minutes and we gladly went to have a drink by the bar. Our host came by the bar to tell us our table was ready and was VERY accommodating. Greg’s service was outstanding as always. The tuna appetizer was AWESOME and our entrees were superb! Of all restaurant choices in the city, the SUMMIT GRILL and BAR is our favorite! Please don’t change a thing! Thank you!
It is loud but fun, the food was delicious! Healthy servings and willing to split entrees, fun night.
Food is amazing, service was great but it’s way too packed and noisy.
Food ok - eggs were cold and missing cheese but "grits" first time having were delish.
Service - a bit underwhelming. Group next to us that were seated after us received their drinks prior to our group as did their order/food. Had to wait way to long on refills and server just didn't seem to be on her game.
We usually have excellent service for Sunday brunch - this time wasn’t the same. Our waitress seemed very overwhelmed and unable to keep all of her tables’ drinks full which is usually what we love about the Summit!
Wait staff was awesome, very patient with us as it was a first date and we took our time. Food was great, cocktails perfectly mixed.
Our first time at Summit Grill. The steaks were good. Service was fine. Next time, I won't sit near the bar at the hi-tops as it was just way too loud.
The noise level was low since no one else was there due to the latest snow.
We have been visiting this restaurant for several years. We have always had a great meal and great experience at this restaurant. One of our favorites!
Good food and great atmosphere. The chicken fried chicken was amazing.
Service was good, but food was terrible! Ordered the Rib Eye, Med Rare, came out Med to Med Well. They offered to take it back and try again.....second time it was the same way!
My wife had the Prime Rib. She asked for Med, came our rare.....we just gave up!
