Overall dining experience was above expectation. Food was excellent, service was great. House white wine below expectation. Overall ticket for two was a bit pricy at almost $125 per person as we each ordered a 1.5 lb lobster that didn't have much meat.
We went for my mom's 85th birthday celebration. Our waiter was excellent. The staff put our cake in the fridge and then put candles on it and brought it to our table- such great service. Our waiter was the best. We love the food at Summer Shack and will definitely go back.
we love your place. always a good time with friends and family!
The food was delicious but the portions were small. The waiter was very sweet but slow and apparently forgetful. It was hard to see how many other tables he had. The restaurant was not busy. No evidence of a manager on the floor making sure drinks were delivered on time - they weren't - or asking customers how the food was. The hostess never left the hosting station to check on customers or make sure drinks were not waiting at the service bar. The place needs management!
Food was excellent, particularly enjoyed the whole belly clams. A bit pricey particularly given the laid back, beach themed atmosphere but overall we had a wonderful meal.
Went last minute on Sunday afternoon with our 3-year old grandson for lobster and steamers - perfect location as the outdoor area was very quiet and he could get up and walk around no problem. No real ambiance if that is what you are looking for.
Great alternative to Boston where everything was packed as we had just visited the NE aquarium.
The food was fine if a little cool but works with a 3-year old. We all enjoyed the steamers, hot style lobster roll and lobster pot stickers. He enjoyed his brownie sundae immensely (think the fudge was his favorite part).
Seafood is outstanding. Like the raw bar. Sushi may or may not be offered, depending on times of year.
If you want good fresh seafood at a reasonable price, Summer Shack is a great place to go. The ambiance is very nice, seafood oriented, and clean, but not a place to go for a romantic dinner. Portions are sizable and well cooked. My companion loved the pomegranate martini.
Food is still solid. Feels like the menu has gotten a litte away from its roots, though.
Honest seafood place, excellent service. Fresh oyster tower is recommended.
At first, the Server was abrupt and rude as if we were annoying her. As the night went on, she warmed up. Food…… meh. Probably will not go back.
We ate outside, and had great weather. There are canopies and lights overhead. The environment was comfortable. Loved the crab cakes and coleslaw.
We had a blast for my parent’s 10 year wedding anniversary! The staff was beyond kind and attentive, and my dad, who is a huge seafood snob, loved the food. Thanks a million!
Excellent lobster roll, and oysters. I tried the Indian pudding too, it was great. Nice vibe and very accommodating staff. I would recommend
Delicious but expensive. Great seating options as well
I visit here several times a month! This was by far the worst meal I’ve ever had! Dinner for 4 people (one was a kids meal hot dog). Took over an hour, two of our meals arrived cold.
Great location for get delicious chicken and seafood. Very casual so more so for lunch than dinner.
My “go-to” spot whenever I’m in the area. Tonight I enjoyed a refreshing pint of Wachusett Blueberry Ale. For an appetizer, I had six delicious Cotuit oysters 🦪 on the half shell, followed by Summer Shack’s shrimp 🍤 scampi over linguine. As usual, Summer Shack did not disappoint! Always great, fresh seafood at fair prices.
Easy vibe, good service, good food. What's not to like?
Reliably tasty seafood. Crabcake sandwich and the seafood stew were both excellent. Seared tuna was a bit undercooked. Outdoor dining was appreciated (although the mosquitoes showed up around dusk).
Music a bit too loud!
This place is a fantastic find. The inside is large and spaced out well. The food and service was excellent! Will definitely be back.
Visited on a Tuesday for dollar oysters which were very good. They all came from local bays and mostly tasted the same, so chose larger sizes for second round order. Ate at the raw bar inside and watched shuckers and US Open tennis on screen above us. Good selection of local beers on tap. Service was efficient and attentive, enjoyed the evening.
The waiter was very fast and services was good on timing especially that we were there just about 1 hr and 15min before closing.
Always the freshest seafood, prepared expertly. The value cannot be beat. Dinning outside only adds to the experience.
The raw oysters were outstanding. However, everything else were ho hum. Service was overwhelmed. The fried Fisherman’s s Platter was overcooked.
Service was terrible—never got a water refill. Waitress wouldn’t divide checks, even just to a table of 4 (we had a party of 12). Don’t go here.
Great food, bring an big checkbook
This review is based upon a Restaurant Week experience, eating in the outside patio, so keep that in mind. Ordered off the special menu for this week. Food was good, although not quite as hot as would have wanted. Tenderloin steak tips weren't quite as tender as would be expected. Portions were above average, and mixed drinks were also generous portions and tasty.
Good food, beer and service. Loud with lots of kids.
This was my first time at Summer Shack. My shrimp were overcooked and the crust of the coconut pie was hard. I expected a lot more!
We ate outside so ambiance and noise wasn’t under the control of the restaurant.
It was restaurant week and we went for lunch…one of the best offers from the restaurants
The food was fresh, tasty and a great bargain, as it's Dining Out Month. We loved our waitress Janelle who made excellent recommendations. She had tons of tables, yet she remained poised, friendly and speedy. We plan to return.
we ate outside.
Server great for first part, then disappeared for a long time.
Food is always very good.
Went for Dine Out Boston week and ordered off the special menu. The fish tacos were somewhat disappointing. The rest of our meal was good. Service was excellent. Ready to go back but will not order the fish tacos.
We went for “Dine out Boston”, and it’s definitely worth it!
Fantastic food great server Sean it iS our go to restaurant great vibe
Our server Guy was exceptional! Hope to have him serve us again soon!
Great good and server, Guy, was terrific—personable and attentive. An enjoyable experience for our group of three!
