The Lobster potstickers..yummy followed by the Tower of Power.....double yum.....salmon and a fisherman's platter rounded the meal off and a Happy Easter was had by all!
Summer shack is super unassuming from the outside but one of my absolute favorite Boston restaurants. Delicious! Highly recommend.
Appreciate that the music was toned down a bit after requesting. my baked stuffed lobster was overdone, charred at ends of legs and claws.; that was disappointing as i have had better at the summer shack. would not order this again.
did have 1.2 doz oysters that were very good.
Food was good and the waiter was attentive
Our first inside dining experience since Covid . Felt very safe and food was delicious.
Our Fisherman's Stew was delicious. We had thought we could eat outside, but felt safe and comfortable in a booth with high partitions.
Food and menu were great, as always. Unfortunately, our waiter seemed to be asleep at the job. One of our party of four got her appetizer in a timely fashion, while the other three of us waited and waited and waited. Finally, we got MOST of the other appetizers. One person never did receive his. All was fine with the entree service, but then we again waited and waited and waited before our dessert order was even taken. It made for a VERY LONG meal (3 hours!).
The food was awesome as always
We join the Dine Out Boston.Very impressed us and great experience! The food is sooo delicous and
I want to join the second time !
The food was ok but we've had many better meals here too; certainly the menu is more limited than formerly due to COVID. Our problem was with the glacially slow service. Our waiter (Sean) was slow in taking the order to begin with and lacked any follow up. We waited over 45 minutes after our appetizers came out before we finally got up and asked the host/manager where our entrees were. Clearly the waiter had forgotten to put our order in and/or forgotten to follow up on it. He then compounded this delay by getting the to-go dessert order wrong and adding another 45 minutes to our time in the restaurant. Dinner for three (one of them a child) took over two hours. We were not satisfied with our experience this time.
Summer Shack fell off my list of recommendations about 5-years ago because lobsters were usually small (1 lb) at super-premium prices. I thought I would give them a try during covid. Good news is the covid situation at the Alewife location is excellent - - tables spaced far apart and staff all wearing masks - - it is an open kitchen situation so it is easy to observe. Good selection of on-tap beers. Waiter was ok on a Sunday afternoon, but, did not ask why we did not eat the burned grilled asparagus - - pre-covid, I would have requested the dish be removed from bill. I tipped well (25%) as I usually do during covid but the service was average. The food, sadly, still is average and over-priced - - $32 for 1 lb lobster plus chips. $5 for fries (average taste/texture). So . . . covid-safe but otherwise not highly recommended.
The food here was amazing! The portions were good, large amount of crab/lobster in the dishes. Very fair pricing.
I was very excited to visit here after reading all the reviews. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the outcome. The server was wonderful but the steaks we ordered were cold, unseasoned, and took forever to get to the table in the first place. We had only gone here to celebrate our engagement and it just put a damper on the evening. Will not be returning.
Food was great. Very chilly with overhead air blowing down on us.
Server was very good, hostess as well.
DineOutBoston lunches at $25 each. Included a bread pudding desert which was good. Had fish soup and shrimp tempura, both fine. Shrimps on stewers and fish and chips. One large size fish piece. Cole slaw okay. Some salad fixings. Good tasting everything. Good attentive service. Nice draft beer selection.
Fish stew is absolutely delicious! Can't go wrong.
The food was awesome! BLT Salad and Fried Chicken.. YUM
Food was incredible! Victor was great! Will come back!
The The server was awful she did not even care about us.The salad was old the was not great.Bad Service
Our host, Douglas made us feel very welcome. Our waiter, David gave us five star service. The food runner was an angel!!
Way to expensive for seafood!!
Our server was super slow and difficult to find when we needed him. Food was ok, too few calamari, clams were chewy.
The hostess wasn't friendly but our waitress made up for it. The oysters and lobster were fresh. They are really following COVID19 guidelines which I appreciated. Overall I enjoyed my experience. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
Friendly and excellent service, and the best seafood you'll find in the Boston area. Buffalo fried shrimp is out of this world, and the sides complement the fish perfectly.
Always the best oysters anywhere. Grilled tuna was dry and tasteless, salmon a bit salty, Scampi always good,my boys loved the Fish taco and calamari appetizers. Appreciative that the wine list is affordable.
How can haddock be so freaking amazing?
I expected my conservative selection to be very nice, a prudent and healthy choice.
Instead, I got a massive hedonic blow out!
Did not see that coming.
Will be back.
Delicious as always. This is the best place for fresh fish.
Great food best Summer Shack experience. You have to try Jasper’s famous pan roasted lobster to die for.
It was awesome!’ Everyone very nice, good servers, and good food... highly recommend!
Summer Shack has been favorite restaurant for a long time, but especially during the pandemic it has been a singular go-to dining destination. Their food is always first-rate, I've never had a disappointing meal. And, the chef is always adding or varying options that give me a broad choice of high-quality seafood, plus terrific appetizers, salads, etc. The chef is very creative also. This is one of the best restaurants serving the freshest of fresh seafood in the Boston area. It's always an excellent choice for us. We are very pleased they have been able to remain open and look forward to many more great dining experience longer-term.
Great food, new menu, relaxed and casual dinning. Best oysters I have had in a while, and fish was fresh with excellent pairings for sides.Definitely going back.
The food was amazing...I'm visiting from San Antonio TX and wanted lobster. I ordered the stuffed lobster and it did NOT disappoint. A must try...
The best restaurant. I love ambiance, food and guys. General manager fantastic
We came for Valentine’s Day. The food was scrumptious and the service was friendly and prompt. It’s a great restaurant for social distancing with a large footprint and high ceilings.
Excellent service! Our server Jeffrey, couldn't have been more attentive and accommodating. The food was great and Jeffrey timed our order perfectly, so we didn't have to rush our meal.
Always delicious, and great service. Music was loud initially but turned down when asked. Very friendly restaurant consistently excellent menu!
Parking and driving access quite easy, also on red line Alewife station.
Great tasting fresh seafood, and clean with great service. A must go for Oysters!
As always the food was simply fantastic, even though it was my first time at the Cambridge site I’m glad there’s not any difference in the service and the food quality. I’m already looking forward to be back soon to summer shack.
Great way to get great food out during COVID. It was 10 degrees outside but it still felt like summer inside!
