Baked Stuffed Lobster
lemon butter, garlic crumbs & shrimp stuffing
Shrimp scampi had way too much oil in it. The service was very good and the atmosphere is always fun.
Experience -- on New Year's Eve -- was super all over, as usual: balloon festivities for kids made it especially cheerful.
Fabulous fun entertaining NYE for family with young children. Checked all the boxes!
Great food and service for our Christmas Eve dinner.
Always good seafood and service, but especially comfortable go-to now with large room, high ceilings, spread tables, and booths with plastic separators.
The dining room was far too cold and uncomfortable. Never got better even after telling our servers(2). I ate lunch with my coat on the entire time. Not a good experience. Servers were wonderful and tried to help.
This is usually a very good meal. Today was our truly a bad experience. Our food was very slow and when it came it was cold.
Two of us were served bad clams - REALLY bad. The fact that no one in the litchen noticed is outrageous. Summer Shack has always been our family favorite (there were 7 of us last night) but this is the last straw of a lot of issues. Since Jasper White sold it several years ago, it has not been the same. Now it id a danger to your health. SAd, it was formerly best seafood in greater Boston.
A great seafood place like the facility and location and the food is fantastic
Best seafood, excellent fish dish (halibut) and sushi. Wine list could improve but overall excellent !
Wonderful seafood, even for locals who know good seafood. My daughter had a birthday and ordered lobster mac and cheese, her favorite. It comes in a cute little
cast iron skillet. It was, however, lukewarm, and she didn't want to say anything about it. Otherwise, fabulous and relatively safe for those wary of pandemic risk.
Have gone here for years in the past and it seems even better now. Pan fried lobster is worth every (many) penny. Kids fish sticks were nearly consumed by moms they were so good.
Our meal was delicious. From the peel and eat shrimp, tuna poke bowl and baked lobster, it was obvious that this is fresh seafood. The sauce over the lobster was amazing. I asked for bread to sop up the sauce which they didn’t have and suggested the cornbread appetizer.
Myra our server was excellent
Good menu selection, polite wait staff, and well prepared food with good ingredients brought in a timely manner.
The seafood here is fantastic--very fresh and perfectly cooked. We had the roasted 11/2 lbs lobsters which are best I've ever had. I think that's a one-time event for us because of the price. The other seafood is equally delicious but it's still just a special-occasion restaurant for us.
There's no complaining about fresh ingredients cooked just right. We'll be back again to try some of the other things on the menu.
Service was bad. The waitress doesn’t check on us and the way she talked to us wasn’t sound right. Tonight somehow the food took a little longer then usual. When I ordered extra sauce on my lobster it came out less than it supposed to be. The food taste different from before it doesn’t tasted as good as before. I like the food and the service before especially from the old waiter who worked there forever. He’s super nice
Compared with few years before, price is much higher and baked lobster is much smaller, even we ordered 2 lb version. Test is still good though.
Great for lunch with friends. Food is well prepared with interesting selections. Service as always was friendly and very helpful.
Marcus our server was great and the food was delicious. Kids had burgers and the wife and I had seafood. I really enjoyed my negroni and the salmon with grilled asparagus and leeks was enjoyable. Also had some of the tuna sushi and I was more than pleased.
We will definitely come back.
As always, great food, friendly service and a fun family outing.
Clam bake: lobster great. We also ordered, ,title neck clams and oysters.
Another tasty meal at Summer Shack, which is always on my agenda whenever I'm in the Boston area. I started with a glass of Lord Hobo Angelica wheat beer. Grilled cornbread with molasses butter was an excellent lead in to my order of South Bay Blonde oysters … quite flavorful. For my entree, I chose fried Gulf shrimp, Buffalo style. Perhaps not the most traditional preparation, but they were delicious. On this visit, I decided against dessert ... although some of the cornbread made its way to my hotel room for a late snack. Consistency is the word at Summer Shack ... always the freshest of seafood at good prices. And, they always have half a dozen or so different types of oysters on hand. Pick a favorite or make a combo & try them all.
Great experience! Food was amazing and prices were fair!
Ate there twice in 2 days…1st day 7:30 PM…
2nd day today ate early - 3:30 PM & had a better
Last night had to wait 20 min. for a server to come over.
Then the gal didn’t quite understand English & made a couple of mistakes with the order.
Overall the food is wonderful & very nice servers & people!
The service was great. The food was only so-so. Having been to Summer Shack many times pre-pandemic, I was disappointed. Corn bread was greasy. What happened to old recipe? Caesar salad sad. But that said, we had a great time.
Our first time back to indoor dining at the Summer Shack since the start of the pandemic.
Great to be back!
Fried clams were wonderful as always and the tuna was excellent- a large plate of food.
Service was very good.
excellent food. ambience a bit shabby. worth the meal.
Server was very nice but food took 1 hour. As I walked out I was waiting by the kitchen and the kitchen looked quite dirty, lots of stuff on the floor.
Love Summer Shack. It's unfortunate that they - like restaurants everywhere - are dealing with staffing shortages and supply issues. Our waiter, Guy, made a valiant attempt to serve us (4) and the party of 12 seated right behind us five minutes later and the party of 3 seated next to us 5 minutes after that (and a two-top and another four-top).
The oysters were, as always, shucked to perfection (Wellfleets, Menemsha Creeks, and South Bay Blonds - six of each), as they should be at $3 each. The lobster roll is iconic, but at $38 was a little on the small side - my lobster roll afficionado son rated it 6.7/10 (he would know. Mac's in Wellfleet gets the 10 btw). Bang Bang Chicken and Lobster potstickers were a win with our 17 year old. I got the mussels fra diavolo and it was clear on its arrival that it had spent some time under the warming lights: it was lukewarm and four of the mussels hadn't opened. My husband declared the swordfish excellent.
Always a winner and I hope that they're able to return to pre-pandemic staffing levels when we come next time.
The food is definitely overpriced
A great seafood restaurant. Food always fresh, well prepared. Service is efficient and friendly. Tables inside are widely spaced and with the very high ceiling it is close to eating outdoors.
The food was good enough but certainly overpriced for what we got. Two orders wrong and had to be redone. I’ve had a better experience in the past and I’m not likely to return.
Always outstanding. Food is delicious and super fresh. Great every day spot. Cannot wait to go back for the fried scallops and lobster. Choices are endless and excellent.
I love the food here and they were able to sit us outside even though they can't promise they will have a table. The service was great even though they were very busy!
Brought an out-of-town guest to summer shack to get great seafood. We tried a bit of everything and everything was finished with abandon
Great representation Of the best of New England.
Unimpressed. Food was barely average, but taking cost into account, it's very subpar. The ingredients were not good for the price. Flavors were so so. We won't be going back anytime soon.
Great menu and decent service. Unfortunately my main course Shrimp Scampi arrived lukewarm and overcooked. How does a great restaurant screw up pasta??
Extensive seafood as well as some non seafood items on the menu
Everything i have had there on multiple visits has been good.
A reliable nice place to eat seafood in a casual setting. Not inexpensive but a fair value for the quality of the meals.
Excellent service and very appropriate COVID protocols in place
