Great time! We’ve eaten here before and always had a great time. Thanks for keeping up with our expectations!
Casual, friendly, well run, great service and fantastic seafood. Best seafood restaurant around.
Could have been a larger portion of fried vlams
Worth a visit. The spearpoint oysters were outstanding!!!!
Food was very good but we had a bit of delay in being seated even though we had reservations. It was very busy. Two dinners arrived at a reasonable time but the third meal was served about 5-8 minutes later. Although he was extremely busy, Our server was very friendly and helpful when we had a few questions about the menu.
Great seafood and great service- great drinks as well. Very accmodating as we had visitors and spent a while- outside patio is a great innovation.
Server was great and didn’t rush us.
Lots of seating and space for people to feel comfortable. Updated menu gives tons of great options.
The food is outstanding. We especially liked heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella, fisherman's platter, crab cakes & creme brulee. Enjoy the casual nature of this venue. Nice selection of wine by the glass - we opted for LaCrema's chardonnay & a French Sancerre.
Great food, great service! Many thanks! Atmosphere was quiet, since we went for an early dinner at 4:30pm.
Very good food. Good atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their meals
Great place to get clam back lobster is perfectly cooked
There were multiple issues with the food. The calamari had MULTIPLE beaks still intact. The scampi had clearly not been salted. Someone wasn’t doing their job checking the food in the back.
We returned to Summer Shack for my wife's birthday/our 3rd anniversary. We did not have the greatest experience this time, but the waitress was very friendly and apologetic and everyone has an off - day.
We'll definitely be back because we love the Summer Shack and it has become an annual stop for us for special events.
I'll be e-mailing the facility separately about specific concerns. But, despite a bumpy experience, give Summer Shack a visit. The seafood and service are fantastic.
The service and food were both excellent. This establishment never disappoints….
Wonderful fresh seafood- the bluefish was a little overwhelmed by the garnishes—and delightful service in a large comfortable venu.
The food at the Summer Shack is outstanding! We started with grilled corn bread, and then moved on to grilled salmon, steak tips and crab cake dinners. All were excellent!
Awesome as always. Service is great and the food is tremendous.
Food was extremely overpriced and quality diminished from past years. Less food for extremely high cost. Will not return .
Excellent food and service.
The staff was very helpful and let us dine outside despite the rainy weather.
Wonderful evening with an old friend at Summer Shack. I have a limited diet and they prepared a delicious plate precisely as I needed. Our wait person was friendly and efficient and no one rushed to have us leave as we lingered for a good while after eating.
The booth made it comfortable and intimate and it was a welcome return to restaurant dining -- my first experience in more than 18 months. I have loved this place in the past and after the long hiatus, Summer Shack proved to be a terrific choice once again.
Dinner at Summer Shack was a delightful and delicious way to celebrate the Fourth of July. The seafood at Summer Shack is always good and last night was no exception.
We started with a dozen oysters, trying six different oysters. All f them were fresh and wonderful. The bluefish plate looked wonderful and my friend really enjoyed it. I opted for the New England style lobster roll. The lobster was wonderful only a little spoiled by a stale roll. All of the lobster dishes were very expensive. Not the fault of the restaurant, but lobsters are expensive even in the seaside lobster shacks in Maine.
We shared an Alberino wine that perfectly matched our dinner choices.
The service was excellent. We dined inside, but there were tables available on the patio. Speak up if you would like that option. We chose not to, but the hostess didn’t’t ask if we had a preference.
The Summer Shack is family and group friendly. Despite a few large groups, the noise level was low, allowing for easy conversations.
Great quality seafood in a casual atmosphere. Also if you have visitors with a car, it's one of the few decent places in the city with a parking lot.
Always a great time at Summer Shack. Fresh seafood at its best. I enjoyed clam chowder, followed by their “Tower of “Power” ... 8 raw oysters, 8 raw littleneck clams, 6 large cocktail shrimp & 2 tuna sashimi oysters. Truly a seafood lover’s dream! I also enjoyed a slice of their homemade coconut custard pie, which was excellent.
Many, many years ago, this was a Polynesian restaurant named Aku-Aku. The entrance featured two large Easter Island heads. In an inspired act of creativity, one head was preserved & converted to the New England fisherman who currently welcomes you to Summer Shack!
I love this place! I was very skeptical and wrote it off for a long time, but I was totally wrong! I come for the oysters, but honestly it's all delicious and very fresh. The service isn't amazing, but it's not bad either.
This restaurant is all right, not fantastic. Jasper White once had a great reputation, but I fear those days have passed. For example, I had a lobster roll, which consisted of chopped lobster and celery, no binding, no seasonings. My husband ordered mac and cheese, which was so full of liquid it looked like soup. Our server was lovely, however.
Reduced menu still but great lunch. I cannot wait for when they are back in full swing. I am always happy to come here!
Excellent very casual restaurant
The food was good. But it was an hour and a half between when we were seated and when our main courses arrived. And then one person in our party got the clam bellies when she ordered strips. She wasn't about to send them back and wait another hour and a half. So she ate them and paid more. One friend ordered lobster and loved it. But sitting there hungry for an hour and a half when it was almost too loud to talk didn't make for an enjoyable evening.
Pretty good but they need to work on their sushi.
We’ve been going to summer shack in Cambridge regularly since it opened.
Always a great experience.
This time, the service was really bad.
The food, as always, was excellent!
Eating outside was wonderful.
It’s “our” place. As always….exceed expectations.
Thanks, we had a great time, and we loved the food.
We went for my mother’s birthday. Everything was incredible. From food to the service everything exceeded any expectation.
lovely outside dining
Summer Shack was awesome. The food was bomb. Food is really love over there.
Was just a bit crowded reason being Father’s Day so our server was a little overwhelmed but all in all wasn’t a bad experience.... food was excellent 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
My clams were not hot when they were served. The salad was not as interesting as it sounded on the menu. This meal would have been ok but the price was way too much for what it was. My mother got a Fisherman's Platter that was mostly French fries. And the Margaritas were very weak for their price.
When we want a special meal it’s Summer Shack for 2lb Jasper’s signature Pan Roasted lobster
It is expensive but worth it!
Oysters to start were awesome as well as mussels!
They no longer serve cornbread which was disappointing and the side of corn bread was not very good. Good pour on cocktails.
Marcos was our server and he was great!
This is not the classiest place to dine but if you want a properly cooked lobster in a fun, casual atmosphere get to the Shack!
Old standard, but smaller portions. Oysters still a treat. Lobster prices crazy.
