Great fun ambiance to enjoy fresh seafood. Not pretentious - just fun.

Truly the best and freshest oysters we have ever had anywhere.

We were a 3 person party, one had Salmon, said it was fabulous. One had fried clam, said the best she ever had, and one had steak and shrimp, was good but better in Boston.

Love Summer Shack. It’s the best of good food in a casual setting. Tonight we bumped into friends and the wait staff were so great to help out us together. Plus the kids love the Sundae bar. The lobster rolls keep us coming back.

Lexi was a great server. The food was very tasty and we were given a large booth when requested for our party of two.
Very nice time and I look forward to my next visit.

We eat here more often than any other restaurant. The only thing I wish is that the dishes I like the most wouldn't disappear! We started coming here when our sons were children and now come with our grandchildren who love Sunday with the "balloon man." I will find any excuse to go to this Summer Shack with or without children!

We actually had a group of 4 and were looking for a lobster place while vacationing in Boston. This place was great. Food was very good and the wait staff and general ambiance (very casual) was also welcoming. Highly recommend.

Very casual spot, but solid food. Fresh lobsters, excellent oysters, and very friendly and helpful service. The restaurant is very big and not well-lit.

We had a very nice lunch on the Fourth of July. Delicious, fresh ingredients. Healthy meals along with fried fish options. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer, bent over backwards to resolve an error with one of our dishes and then removed it from our bill. people really seemed to be enjoying themselves - several large family parties noted.

Always friendly service.
Food is always well-prepared. Always like the menu offerings and specials.
They usually know how to cook fish just right.
Oysters, Lobster, Clams, Blue Fish, etc.
Downside: Noise is a bit off the hook, for my taste. Rock music in background with loud voices carrying in an open space.

Was there with a date on a Friday evening. We made a reservation with Open Table, and glad to have done so. It was very lively. We were seated promptly. Waiter came right away and was friendly, even when we waited so long to order. The place IS noisy - cavernous.
Food came quickly. Here's the one thing: The food was ordinary. We both had fish. Perhaps their celebrated lobster would have been a better choice.
The atmosphere was busy, noisy, although it emptied out pretty quickly at about nine pm. This is not a late-night hot spot.
Recommend for large groups, for families with children, for fish and lobster.
Great parking too!
Don't go here for a romantic date.

The place is totally a classic big, bosirous setting but with excellent seafood and selection, and unusual and amazing lobster prep receipies to go along with the classics.

Simple is why its so good. Attentive service. There's a reason it's been humming along for something like 18 years. I always need one piece of chicken here... so good. My shrimp dish .... others had oysters, tuna... all great. Sides excellent.

We've been here before and had better experiences than this time. The kitchen got backed up and we waited much longer than usual for our entrees. My companion's swordfish was overcooked and dry which was extremely disappointing since that was one of the day's specials. On a better note, the manager took it off the bill and apologized. Because we have had better experiences here and because the manager did the right thing, we will assume it was just an off night and we will return.

I have been to Summer Shack a number of times. It has been consistently good. Plenty of parking. A couple of close handicap parking spaces. Easy to get to. Can handle med large parties easily (6-12). Love the fried clam offerings. Pricing is not low, but it is acceptable.

Our annual Father's Day ritual: dinner at Summer Shack with our 2 grown daughters,
at The Dad's request. Always good quality, fresh and well-prepared seafood. A wide variety of
preparations and seasonings, so different tastes can all find something they like. Good
cocktails, too. Very pleasant and friendly service. The atmosphere is casual, like an
indoor version of a New England clam shack, but that doesn't mean the prices are low. I
have passed on their signature pan-roasted lobster dish in recent years due to sticker shock,
even though I know it's delicious and a true classic.

overall this establishment continues to have excellent food -- have been coming for years. But service has dipped. Waitress was slow in service to put in our orders to getting bread out, etc. Service was not as confident and timely.

Summer Shack is a great restaurant for anything, special occasion, date night, group get to together or just a nice meal on your way home from work. The food is excellent and fresh fish/lobster, oysters, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere for fun! Try the Pan Fried Lobster, calamari appetizer and fresh baked desserts, ( I love the Key Lime Pie).

2 of us ordered "smoked salmon hash" dish -- the salmon was too salty, and sat atop the "hash", not in it. The greens on my plate were wilted and inedible. Fortunately, service was good and prices were reasonable.

we love this bustling seafood place. it's noisy and on the higher side expense-wise, but with very rare exceptions the food and beer are terrific. this place is also great if you just want to drop in and sit at or near the bar and have a few drinks and some fresh oysters. wonderful!
