5.0  Dined 5 days ago always, the food at Jasper White's Summer Shack in Cambridge - the old AKU-AKU - was fabulous. My family group went for Oysters - a family tradition seasonally - and dinner.
Great Food, good value.relaxed/fun atmosphere.

Service was engaged, friendly and attentive.

Our part included my 3-year-old nephew - solid kid menu, with the opportunity to try something different - equally attentive staff

Perfect seafood joint. Visiting Boston and this is exactly what we wanted.

We are a family of 5 and we have always loved the Summer Shack. It has options to please everybody. However.... one of our kid's favorite things about it are (were) the brown paper 'tablecloths'. They enjoyed doodling and playing hangman while we waited for dinner. We went there for Valentine's Day and were disappointed to find new blue checkered tablecloths. While this 'upscale' addition has probably pleased many a patron, our kids missed the old brown paper! And what's more, corndogs have been taken off the menu! What?! Even though our kids have outgrown corndogs, their absence was duly noted. Our server was nice but a bit scattered. Our meals (tuna for 2, lobster roll and a 1 pound lobster) were great, per usual.

We were impressed with the general manager checking on us to ensure that our experience was satisfactory. Even though the delivery of the appetizer was quite slow, he acknowledged this and continuously apologized.

Thank you!

Excellent food and great service... great seafood prepared with care.

The Greeter and Server are were both friendly and attentive. The good was great. It can get a little noisy if one of the local sports teams' game is on TV. We went for lunch and it was a little busy but relatively quiet.

Summer Shack comes through again. There is no place that does Lobsters Better than Summer Shack. But I have to say that the prices are approaching that of the best steakhouses. $68 for a 2lb steamed is pushing it. and +$4 for the pan Roasted feast. The lobster is awesome as are the Oysters...But with limited ambiance at these prices we will not go as often as we used to. This was a Saturday night and there were lots of empty tables. maybe Jasper has priced himself out of the market.

Had not been here in years. Went primarily as I was in Cambridge and I knew parking was easy. Fish stew way too spicy for my taste and lobster roll had great lobster but for me too much bread and not a fan of celery in the roll Accompanying chips were very hard. Overall somewhat disappointed and feel not as good as years ago

Oysters and fried clams were very good. Breading on fish and chips was so thick that it didn’t cook all the way through. Service, as always, was excellent, but overall food quality seems to have dropped off at Summer Shack over the past year

We did not have a great experience when we went here. Our service was awful. The waitress did not greet us until 15 minutes after we were seated and it was like that for everything. My children’s’ food cane out incorrect, but it wasn’t worth it to try to get her attention to fix the problem because it would’ve taken so long and they were starving. Our appetizer didn’t come out until after the meal started, which loses the point of even having it. I would not go back here again.

Eaten at Summer Shack quite a few times; however, the server for this meal had a personality that was friendly yet bordered on the overbearing. It diminished the dining experience for the three of us at Summer Shack. The consensus was that we wouldn't be back soon.

Went for my mom’s birthday dinner and everything was delicious! Definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves lobster or shellfish. And it was great with our three kids, too.

Wonderful. I like the interior improvements in the restaurant. It looks nicer and has a warmer and quieter feel.

Usually a really good restaurant but they were out of a bunch of food including crab legs and some of the deserts. Which was super disappointing.

Some of us enjoyed the meal better than others. Stick to what they do best--lobster and fish dishes. I had a Vietnamese salad, which lacked taste and the shrimp were very tiny ones that were overcooked.
