The hostess, and waiters were very courteous, knowledgeable, and provided great service. The food was excellent! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Boston!
A little loud for my taste. Service was good. Food was standard fare seafood. They go heavy on the salt as most restaurants do. Son had haddock, but it was overdone and cooked in heavy butter. My scallops and shrimp were overdone as well, but still somewhat tasty.
Service was slow and mediocre. Food was good quality but nothing overly exciting for the price. Restaurant had fun decor but was very dark inside for a beach type, seafood restaurant atmosphere.
Best lobster roll, and Lobster Mac! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Boston!
Local favorite we tried. The seafood was ok but not what we are used to with regard to shrimp and lobster.
So disappointed that we chose this restaurant for our last night in Boston. It started with a reservation yet the manager sat us at a random table with a used water glass with lipstick on it. Everything was below average - the food and service. The crab cake was overcooked and all filler, the fried fish was oil soaked yet raw in the middle, and the best part was the dry subpar coleslaw.
Lobster roll. Amazing
Excellent service!! We arrived late as our family’s plane was delayed. The accommodated is without hesitation and we closed the place!!! Delicious food!!!
Julia our server was great! She had a great demeanor. Food was good
I love Summer Shack. It's casual, it's fun but they don't blast the music, and the food is consistently great. The passionfruit martini is highly recommended.
Great seafood place. Fantastic staff. Worth it.
Best lobster in Boston imo. Great fish as well. Get the key lime pie if its available.
Outstanding food. Don’t let the lax atmosphere fool you. They have some serious oysters and lobster. If your a traveler, on vacation or visiting Fenway, worth stopping by and eating here.
We enjoyed the Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes, and Baked Haddock. Great meal and great overall experience.
Best it’s been in a long time. Not too crazy busy
We loved it! Fantastic service and food was great
Good presentation, good food.great
The drinks are too expensive
Service as always was top notch. Seafood was super fresh! Can’t wait to go back again!
They told us to use the online menu which offered a PDF option. So we ordered off the PDF menu and then they told us that we weren’t supposed to use the PDF and half our orders were not actually available. They were actually a bit rude about that when it was their fault for leaving an old PDF on their website! Then the food we did get was average quality at best. Overpriced and simply not that good. Overall, I will never go back to summer shack
Love this casual place for great lobster dishes!
Delicious meal, friendly staff, and clean restaurant.
A must while you are in Boston. Jaspers Lobster is out of this world. The staff are incredible and super attentive. Thank you for a great evening :-)
So good. Fresh seafood, well prepared. Had oysters and scallops
Out of town friends who had several days of fine dining in Boston wrapped up their trip with dinner at Summer Shack and pronounced it the best meal of their visit. 'Nuff said.
The best and freshest oysters. The lobster roll wonderful and the seafood stew sublime. Shouldn’t be missed on any trip to Boston.
Great place and great food!
Lobster bisque was not good. Lobster Mac and cheese was out of a box I swear. No taste at all. It was just bad.
We had a great time! The food was great, friendly staff. Will be back!
Ordered shrimp and scallops, and I swear they had no seasoning on them! the vegetables however were AMAZING. Just interesting that this soo called seafood restaurant really didn’t have great seafood
I’ve been here once a year for the last 5 years. It has always been awesome ! But I don’t know if it’s because of getting started after CoVID but it was awful this time. Waiter hardly ever came to table. Our lobster was served to us but no crackers or bibs. We asked for them when the food came but we waited about 5 minutes and nobody brought them. We finally walked over to the manager and got the cracker etc. But the lobster was cold so we just are it and didn’t say anything. They really need to get their act together! Next year, we are thinking about finding a different lobster house!
The key point is that the cooking was poor. Not that the design of the dish was bad, it was bad execution and bad ingredient. Fish/scallop/shrimp was all not so fresh, likely frozen and overcooked. The only dish above my red line was fried calamari and that's just fair not excellent.
Enjoyed outstanding seafood in a casual environment.
As expected for type of restaurant.
Visited during an out-of-town anniversary trip. The food is great and the owner of the restaurant makes you feel welcome. The service is excellent.
They were very willing to accommodate my shellfish allergy
Great service and friendly staff. Seafood fresh and portions good sized.
Service was very good. Ambiance feels like Joes Crab Shack.
We are actually from the area so as advice to visitors I can say this might be a good spot to try when things are crazy busy in Boston. It’s in the tourist area but on a quiet side street. The food is good, seafood very fresh and service very anxious to please.
