The Summer Shack in Boston can accomodate up to 175 people. The entire dining room has seating for up to 140 people and the circular bar area can accomodate a reception of up to about 60 people. A lot of smaller groups request the back alcove area for more intimate seating.View Private Dining Details
Great food. Nice waiter. No wait because I had reservations. It was pretty loud but I think it was surrounding table specific.
Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive service throughout. The famous pan roasted lobster is legendary for good reason - lobster perfectly cooked and basted with a herbs, chive and drawn butter. Wonderful. Lobster roll was delicious also. Highly recommend.
Awesome seafood. Tempura calamari was the best we've EVER had! They did not have the Thursday crabs we specifically came for, though.
The scallops with remoulade was really delicious.
If you want seafood done right, this is the place to go.
Was in Boston for a volleyball tournament and took time out to visit family. Niece suggested the Summer Shack and it was PERFECT. Waiter was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food was awesome.
We arrived at noon for a 12pm reservation. The restaurant had, maybe 4 tables there, but we waited 15 minutes to be sat despite 3 check ins by different people. Once sat it took a good 1/2 hour to order food. When the meal arrived the server checked in and then we didn’t see him again until the check came. For the provenance and price of this place I expected better service, especially since there were so few tables there at the time.
Loved our server! Such a hardworking guy and super friendly. Made our night one to remember!
The fish dishes were fine but our guest ordered a lightly toasted grilled cheese sandwich which was partially burnt. Also, the wrong dessert was given to her --regular ice cream instead of the requested sorbet.
Weekend getaway, excellent seafood but wish we could have tried the red snapper ceviche
The food was absolutely amazing both times we went. The service was crazy fast! They were very accommodating for my infant son (even when he spilt my Husband's beer, the manager cleaned it up and grabbed him a new beer). Will definitely visit again and recommend to others!
Very good! Lobster pot stickers were fabulous! Fried cornbread was good, didn’t taste the maple in the butter only the honey. Didn’t really need the fried cornbread because they brought rolls and cornbread to the table with the meal. Crab cakes were excellent, not too much breading, Mahi Mahi was very good as well, spicy! Smashing crabs were good. Came with 3, and 2 of them were a little over cooked and dry.
The staff did not cook meal the way asked, which I thought was not in keeping with good customer service. We returned the food, but it came out just the same--looking like the cooks just washed away the sauce we asked them to omit. They didn't take the time to easily prepare the item the way it was requested--without sauce.
Great food, atmosphere, and service! I don’t think it’s overpriced at all. The oysters are awesome! I got the ones from Martha’s Vineyards. The fried chicken was also really good.
Quick and attentive service, good food, and overall an easy meal out!
Food was delicious.
Enjoyed a good brunch!
We are visiting our daughter who goes to school in Boston. Summer Shack had a great vibe, awesome service, and delicious food!
One of my favorite places for seafood in Boston. Pan Fried Lobster is awesome! Jonathan, our waiter, was simply terrific. However, the clam chowder and lobster bisque were too salty. Will definitely go back.
Seated at a high top next to the bar. Bar patrons were very loud
Food was not as good as the previous two times we have dined here but overall, a good experience. Appetizers were the best part of the meal. Waiter was great even though a little too friendly at times. Very expensive
Server was attentive...choices of food were great...very Boston. Excellent choice for families.
Shake Shack makes great burgers, shakes and fries cooked to order. They are tasty, moist and meaty. The shakes thick and creamy. Always a satisfying meal at a moderate price.
Food was good, but one order was wrong (no surf with the turf). Actually some of the food (the Bermuda chowder and the pan roasted lobster) was excellent. But the wait staff couldn't provide a decent description of some of the craft beers (had to google them), and just forgot to bring certain requests (like ketchup for fries). And the "market" prices for the lobster seem to reflect the stock market not the lobster market.
The bar area and the crowd that was there were very noisy. It was hard to have a conversation even though I was at the back of the dining area. Food was good but pricey.
Service was great. Breakfast food was ok. Nothing to rave about. Great place for a quick breakfast if you’re staying at a hotel in Dalton St and heading to the airport.
Great seafood spot, close to everything yet off the beaten path. May not work if you have someone in your group who doesn’t like seafood and doesn’t eat red meat, as options are limited.
This was my second visit to the Summer Shack. I went out on a limb and got something totally different - a fabulous salad and possibly the best fried chicken I ever had in my life! We preceded this with a dozen oysters (Spear Point and Blue Point) which were also perfect...and we are picky because my husband has shucked oysters for a living.
Everyone in the family loved it! My college-aged daughter had the skewered shrimp and scallops...
I love this place because it feels like a party - and a good ole New England summer feast!
New year celebration
Casual atmosphere and decor, very good service, pricing is moderate for Boston, lobster roll was a 9 out of 10 and crabcakes were a 7 out of 10.
Glad we found this gem during our recent visit to Boston! Excellent food and service! Corn bread, oysters were excellent as starters. My son had lobster and husband swordfish, both were beyond delicious! I’m not a fish eater so I had a burger, it was okay. Not a lot of choices for those who don’t eat fish; however, I hear the fried chicken is delicious!
Get the pan seared lobster and side corn on the cob included.
Top it off with the warm brownie and ice cream! YUM...YUM!
We were expecting a "local" type place and were slightly disappointed to see that it had more of a "chain" feel. That being said, the food was very good and came out fast. Our waitress was perfectly nice, but not the most outgoing. However, the host (I think he may have been the manager as well) was outstanding! He checked in with us several times, chatted with us about our travels, and allowed our kids to hold one of the live lobsters from the tanks. Overall it was a very nice experience.
Absolutely delicious and super friendly, attentive staff.☺️❤️
Absolutely fresh and excellently prepared seafood — reliably so. Fantastic and friendly service on this visit with a party of 9.
Average food and experience. Typical tourist trap but the food was good and the service was quick.
Place is getting a little tired. Food was pretty good but I’ve had better at this location before. Service was poor for it not being very busy.
Family favorite when in boston. Kids menu with good choices.
Restaurant half empty, but service was slow. My order was not correct. When I returned it, it took forever to come back and still not right. In addition, the salmon was so over cooked, that it was barely edible. Others in the party ordered fish tacos that came with very little fish
Summer Shack has excellent seafood. You can't go wrong. Particularly enjoyed the fresh oysters. Only problem was that the waiter was a bit inexperienced and slow.
