Excellent food. Very interesting, appealing menu items for brunch/lunch. Grilled cornbread, chicken and waffles, lobster frittata, open faced veggie omlet. Spacious and clean enough but it is below ground/barely at street level so a bit dark and damp. Server was friendly and knowledgeable and our orders came in timely fashion. Go for the really good food and the convenience to Back Bay, Pru, Hynes and even Fenway Park.
First time visitor, spending the weekend in Boston. Hotel recommended Summer Schack. I had the shrimp and scallops with the farm vegetables ratatouille. Excellent flavors, especially on the seafood. Wanted to try the Boston Cram Pie (out), but settled on crime brûlée...excellent choice! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal!
We have loved this restaurant for many years. Our last two visits have been very disappointing. Overpriced tourist food.
We ordered crab cakes, corn bread, calamari, lobster potstickers and lobster rolls (CT style). All were fantastic! The price for the quality of food was phenomenal. Highly recommended!
We went as a family and the overall experience was great. It was pretty loud and exciting in there. If you looking to have a great meal and have fun this is a great place.
Food was fabulous, service was ok, but very noisy and the floor was incredibly slippery.
Will come back again for private dinner, but mayby not with business clients.
The steamed lobster was the best I’ve had in a while. I ordered 2lb. But think it was bigger. Great service. Cleaner and better than Barking Crab. And you can make reservations. Great atmosphere and yummy brownie dessert.
Food for all 9 was fabulous and our server was efficient and very helpful
We enjoyed the Connecticut style lobster which were really good i'd definitely visit here again, fun relaxed atmosphere
Great food, friendly service always a good combination!
Place was only so, so. One of worse lobster rolls ever. Great tourist spot though
I had the great experience many times at Summer Shack.
Our friend claims were late coming because of a kitchen issue..BUT THE MANAGER DELIVERED THEM..APOLOGIZED AND AT NO CHARGE.
Now that is good customer service!
Food GREAT!! WILL GO BACK AND RECCOMEND..
Great food. It was loud and hard to hear our sever, but she was nice and a good server. Wish she had come by a little sooner to get us more drinks.
Lobsters were terrific! Lobster Mac was wonderful too! Great service. Will be back.
It was a really busy night with the pride parade and a double header at Fenway. We had a 7:30 reservation. Got there at 7:15. Asked us to wait at the bar until 7:30 which we did no problem. Thirty minutes later we still hadn’t been called. My husband checked and we were told that “someone” just sat another group at our table and we would have to wait. So again. Ok. We wait. Finally we sat. Then we ordered. Ran out of beer, ran out of tuna and ran out of something else. The oysters were amazing. The NE chowder was thin. The shrimp and scallops just ok. Atmosphere was good and our server was amazing even under the not so perfect circumstances. I think his name was Dan. Good job Dan!!
Waitress was great. Host and hostess were not competent.
Food was very good. We had Tuna, clams, shrimp and scallops and lobster roll. Great selection of drinks. A real solid place. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
Lobster potstickers were great definitely have to go back
The service was impeccable, the cocktails outstanding and the food excellent. I am usually so good with names but can't remember my servers name but he was young, tall with black hair and so personable and attentive. When we visit again, I will be looking for him.
Service was poor, multiple late items, 1/2 hour wait for drinks and failure to bring kids drinks until reminded at the time their meals arrived
This was the first time we tried this place. It was a recommendation from a friend & we saw an advertisement on it. Checked out the menu & decided to give it a try. We got the lobster roll, cup of clam chowder, & lobster mac. We arrived before the lunch crowd & were given some corn bread when we sat & got our drinks. Food was fair-good but nothing extraordinary that would make me want to go back. Good serving of lobster & food was filling. Service was slow once it got busy and I didn’t get a refill until the end of my meal. Casual dining kind of place with lots of families there.
Excellent food and nice ambiance
Service was also very sympathic
We had a party of 4 and were sat at a big table which was great. Food was great and our waitress was very attentive. She had made some great suggestions for things to try on the menu. It was a bit of a louder, family atmosphere but still, we enjoyed our time very much.
We were looking for something last minute near Copley and they had room for us. The service was excellent as were the the lobster potstickers that he suggested. Lobster roll had plent of lobster, we’ll be back!
The food was excellent! Each meal was creatively prepared and delicious. Service was also very good. I would return again.
Neat atmosphere, our server was great, and my wife really enjoyed her cod. But, my black sea bass (a fish I often order) was somewhat fishy tasting, a bit overcook, with uninspired spices. Also, the tuna in my poke was not fresh at all. We had a long wait, even though we had a reservation, and much longer than they said when we arrived - but those things are sometime unavoidable. If I lived in Boston, I would consider going back, but ordering the lobster.
Great food in a casual atmosphere! Just steps away from the much pricier and less comfortable seafood places on boylston st. So glad I tried this establishment after so many times of walking by.
Best. Lobster. Ever!
The host refused to allow us to park a stroller near our table or seat us at a table where we could. We came by around 4pm, and the restaurant was still pretty empty when we finished. It’s disappointing how some personnel cannot think on their feet and how an accommodation like that would have gone a long way. The waitstaff could use some real training in hospitality.
Needless to say we won’t be bringing our out of town guests here anymore.
A very good Fish restaurant. Atmosphere like it has to be. Perfect evening.
I have tasted a great lobster and enjoyed a great baseball evening!
The food was phenomenal, it’s loud and casual and fun. The portions were small for the bigger eaters in our group. The crab cakes, snow crab legs, and oysters were especially memorable.
Clam chowder wasn’t hot. Lobster Roll was just okay. A few in our party liked their dishes. Great cornbread. Nice waitress.
Sat in bar which was a little noisy. Was my only complaint. Other than that it was amazing!
Wonderful meal at Summer Shack. Delicious lobster pot stickers and chowder to start. Stew and lobster roll to follow. Fresh and delightful!
Way too expensive for food that tastes average. Gotta admit, the ingredients tasted fresh, but I feel that is a minimum any good restaurants would do. It seemed absurd to me that chips -not fried would be served with burgers - all at the cost of 16$+. I was really hungry so i didnt get to see the fine print that it would be so, but I feel it would have been appropriate if the servers let us know ~ she knew we were first time visitors. Anyways, I don't want to waste my time complaining. This probably won't be considered anyways ~ you guys have great reviews and that will be all that matter to you guys~ the majority likes it.
Excellent service, the waiter was Berklee nice, everything exceptional!!
Keep the good work!
