   Restaurant service was excellent and the quality and taste of the food we had was great. A few items from the menu were unavailable due to the ingredients not being delivered, terribly wobbly table which couldn't be corrected. Music did not suit the venue.

   We hoped to be seated inside but were seated outside in the humidity/heat. On the plus we got a partial view of fireworks overlooking the lake. On the negative very crowded, busy, screaming children and hard to have a conversation without yelling over the noise. Our waiter rarely checked on us. I mentioned allergies ahead of time, hostess said our server would review, but he never did. Thankfully I didn’t have any recognizable allergen exposures our overall dining experience ce would’ve been a lot worse.

   I was genuinely excited to dine at Summer House on the Lake. My friends speak so highly of the food and atmosphere, and I had been looking to this meal for weeks. Sadly, my experience left me feeling discouraged and overlooked. I have a list of things 26 food allergies and handed a written copy to our server. I was surprised to learn the restaurant doesn’t offer an allergy menu. When I asked what kind of flour was used in the gluten-free pasta, the server’s tone & body language made me feel like a burden. I didn’t want to be difficult-I just wanted to make an informed choice. I ended up choosing the Steak Taco Platter without the tacos, assuming they were flour-based. She said the ingredients of the platter were separated & that it would be a good meal option. She also decided to remove the cheese from the rice & veggies due to my allergy list, even though I told her I was okay with the white cheese. She decided against my wishes. She later returned to tell me I couldn’t have the black beans because of the garlic. Then after my friend asked if they had corn tortillas, she said yes. I asked to have them, but it was hard not to feel like they were withheld until my friend spoke up. If my friend haven’t known, I wouldn’t have had any substitute for the tacos. I also learned all the meats are cooked in the same area, which increases the risk of cross-contamination- disappointing for a restaurant of this reputation. I spent over $90 on my meal, including a white sangria and a to-go Brussels sprouts salad with grilled salmon. I truly wanted to enjoy this experience, but instead I left feeling dismissed and sad. I may try again, but this visit really hurt.

   Celebrated my 50th birthday and I couldn’t ask for a better evening. Food was delicious, deviled eggs, pizza and steak tacos all tasty. Erin our server was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was great. Thank you Erin and Summer house

    We arrived in Orlando last night and grabbed a late dinner (10 pm) at Summer House. It's a beautiful restaurant, with great coastal decor. It's in the heart of Disney Springs. The hostess staff was friendly. Our server was a little checked out - it seemed like she had a long night and we were her last table. The food was alright. They brought our appetizer (jalapeno cornbread) out after our entrees arrived. The cornbread was subpar at best - would never order again. My wife and I split the picnic chicken basket - it was average. The bbq sauce has a little kick too. We had the braised brussel sprouts which were very good. The boys has the vodka rigatoni (added chicken breast) which was pretty good, and the the streak frittes. The boys' entrees were above average. Overall, the ambiance was better than the food. We may try it again on another trip and try some different entrees. I was really excited when I saw the menu with what appeared to be some good Southern fare, but it was unfortunately below my expectations. It's probably worth a try, but the fried chicken batter is very bland - so I would look for an alternative. And I certainly would not waste any calories on the cornbread.
