I am a fan of this place, but the last two times I’ve been here for brunch the service has been poor. The food comes either late or cold or both. They quickly replaced the dishes but after you mess up twice, there really should be some type of comp. There’s a real disconnect between the food and the servers.

We enjoyed a relaxed celebration dinner in Summer House's space "in between" outside and inside . . . I requested "both" when asked whether we wanted to be inside or outside, and they seated us at the perfect table, right next to inside and close to the bar, but with doors/windows open to the outside tables. A perfect combination. Server was pleasant and tended to a lot of details.

I had a very difficult experience in Summer House-North Bethesda. It was a family celebration for my mom 94 Birthday. I made a reservation 5 days before, either outside or in an open space, given health concerns. That was the agreement for the reservation for 10 people. The person in charge was very rude and he said that was impossible that Summer House agreed to this reservation because they had a private engagement. After a long discussion with all my family eaiting, they sit us outside under a heavy sunny conditions.

My fiancé and I went for brunch last Sunday. It’s a vibe. Its luxury meets beachy meets local brunch spot. I recommend it. The food was great. We both loved the blueberry pancakes (even had enough for leftovers). Going back very soon.

Our waitress was great, checked in frequently for our needs. Def overpriced for the quality of food received… I mean $30 for tacos?? So $10 each taco, and I was still hungry after. Nothing to brag to mom about. Apps also weren’t mind blowing for the price. Wouldn’t really come back here.

Summer House is one of my favorite places for lunch and brunch. The atmosphere is open, bright and pleasant. The service has always been excellent. The food is very tasty and beautifully presented. Also, the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Summer House.....

This was the worst service ever. Food was ok, but not so special. The server was indifferent and seemed reluctant to work. Especially when we checked out, she was playing her phone at one of the registers until we asked other server to call for her. Such a bad experience.

The waitress was great. We believe she forgot part of the order, but it was sent out once we mentioned it to her. The truffle fries were smaller than I remember them to be. They were delish. The cookie man wasn’t very friendly, but later warmed up after I mentioned is demeanor.

I don’t mind spending extra for good food, but the food is overpriced for the value. Also we ordered dessert and it took nearly 30 minutes. Finally when it came, only one of ours came and we were told they didn’t have any more of what I ordered. It was a waste of time and the dessert was not very good.

Food was fine. Spicy Rigatoni was good. My wife enjoyed her cobb salad. My drink (Bombay martini) was good, but not cheap. The white sangria wasn't very good, and we wanted to order something else. Unfortunately, after taking our food orders, our server (Nick) never checked back with us. He stopped at all the nearby tables several times, and only when we finished our food did he come to say "I guess you hated it". We didn't even bother to say, that the sangria wasn't very good, so we just paid and left and had some great drinks at Fogo next door. Even the manager didn't stop by!

Sitting outside on a beautiful day was certainly a big plus for lunch. The Costa Mesa salad was excellent and the service was very good. The only complaint I have is that a 3% surcharge is added to prices which are already high. My friend was surprised when the bill came and she saw that her glass of Prosecco was $19!

So maybe this was an anomaly, but overall service was poor and unprofessional. I understand Sundays are the busiest of days but our server was non existent and it progressively worsened over time. There was a lack of communication between him towards our table and also towards his management. Drinks that were ordered in the beginning didn't come for an hour. Didn't take food orders in a timely fashion and orders were missed on a few guests choices including my own. Even towards the end during the checkout process mistakes were made on multiple checks (which was probably due to manager working out the comps but still).
