We enjoyed our meal. It was a bit strange that the $28 salmon only came with mashed potatoes and no vegetable. When asked, I was told the mashed potato was the vegetable.
We went for the weekend brunch - this was our second time for the brunch and loved it. Menu is limited but covers all brunch items. Wish they had the brunch drinks (Mimosa and bellinis) as the regular drinks are heavy on alcohol. The ambience is superlative. Overall, recommend it for brunch ( I haven't been there for dinner but I'm sure its great too).
Summer House is always lovely. My husband and I dine there frequently.
Booked our favorite table, and were delighted they complied. Despite staffing problems, everyone did their best to provide good service. When they were a bit slow, a manger offered us free drinks. We both opted for burgers, which are excellent. The gluten free chocolate cookies are to die for. Place definitely rates as a favorite.
Besides their appetizers and pizzas, their food flavoring has gone down. The past 2-3 times we've gone, we were all disappointed in the seasoning of the steaks, rainbow trout, and side dishes like barley that came with the trout. Completely either under seasoned, not enough salt or their marinade for their steak was way to strong and yet not enough simple salt on the steak to bring out it's flavor. They still have excellent cocktails but I have to say, main dishes need a lot of work in seasoning and taste. Food can be seasoned well without it being salty.
Food bland & undercooked. Pasta tasted like it came out of a can. Gnats in wine. Slow service.
Really disappointed in the food. I got a pasta bolognese dish and just was not impress. The dish had a sour/metalic after taste to it.
Sat for 30 minutes before they took our order. It took another 15 minutes to get drinks. Food was mediocre. Brought check without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert.
Wanted a nice brunch
Awesome experience and great time. Management is really solid here. Super patient and kind. Food was amazing.
Let me tell you I used to go to Summer House all the time prior to 2020 and during 2020 I ordered curbside meals to go. I went there on Saturday for dinner and I was totally shocked to find my $30.00 salmon salad was actually a piece of salmon that was cut in 1/2 weighing in at maybe 3ozs. It literally was 2 bites of salmon. I realize restaurants are cutting portions and that's not a problem for me but come on...at least give a decent amount or cut the add on protein out altogether. As for the service it was so/so totally not impressed anymore with this restaurant.
The food was maybe the worst food I’ve ever had. We had to send back the pizza, the dough tasted old and the sauce had a metallic taste to it. The only decent food item was the French fries.
Food and drinks were excellent. Lots of outdoor seating on a Thursday evening.
This is a beautiful location with good quality food and service. Our appetizers came out quickly but it took awhile to get our entrees and bill. It almost felt it was by design, so as to allow you to relax and fully enjoy your experience. Table was cleared and glasses refilled, promptly and without fuss. There were many hands on deck to keep things running smoothly. Our waiter was very friendly and poised, just appeared to be high in demand. I made a reservation via Open Table specifying it was my daughter’s 16th birthday but that was never acknowledged by anyone we came in contact with as it appeared they were unaware. Once we told our waiter as he was quickly asking about desert, he did not disappoint. Overall we had a lovely evening and will return again. This was a 1st visit for my husband and I, however our daughters have dinned there a few times prior.
We had an amazing time and dinner! The kale salad, fish taco, and halibut were delicious! Our server was on top of game. Sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing!!
The atmosphere of Summer House was very nice. The decor and vibe was really beautiful. The food was tasty overall. With that said, the service was poor. We almost never saw our waitress. She could not correct issues we were having before we could not locate her. The beer (2 different kinds) was flat. The guacamole took an inordinate amount of time and was extremely small, especially for $13. The food also took a long time to arrive. The quality of the food made up for some of our grievances but overall it was an average dining experience. The tab was very high for the quality and quantity of food.
Good food, great service. Pleasant experience as always.
Love this place the food is soo good and amazing customer service
Good breakfast. Very very slow. Waitress was very nice, but not really attentive.
The passive aggressive server took over 10 minutes to arrive to table, immediately asked what we wanted for dinner, didn't ask about drinks or appetizers. My wine came immediately (appreciated) but my wife's sangria took around 15-20 minutes to arrive after asking for it 3 times.
Had to ask a different server for silverware when our appetizer arrived because our server kept disappearing for extended periods of time.
Didn't have the entree I ordered "in stock" on a Friday night (that's fine) but the menu is bare-bones as it is, not to mention pricey, so I wasn't enthused about having to order something else (the vodka penne) which was ultimately just okay.
My wife's pasta entree didn't have the protein she asked for in it, again, had to ask for it multiple times, I server walked past our table and ultimately remembered to bring the protein on a plate.
Terrible evening, will never be returning.
Dinner was disappointing. Food was mediocre and ambience was horrible. We ate outside on the sidewalk surrounded by honking cars and a fight broke out in the pizza place across from where we were sitting. Service was slow and not very attentive. Will not return too many other places much better
This was our first time at Stella Barra. We ordered the kids meal for our son. The pasta was cold and the french fries had a ton of seasoning, too salty even for adults. We also ordered two pizzas for the us. We barely ate half because the crust was very dried and hard.
The Parmesan truffle fries were delicious and the server was also great as well.
Server was wonderful as my date was rather late. She was just lovely and made great recommendations!
The service was really bad and the food was nowhere near what I have come to expect from summer house.
Delicious food, great service!
Loved the vegan scramble, and chocolate chip cookie!!
Great service. We were late and our group size increased too...the team there was super accommodating. Food was great too.
The service was excellent! The waitresses are working under difficult conditions with a smile--kudos!
I went for my birthday and the place was beautiful, however the food was super subpar. I never leave reviews, but I also had a hair in my pizza and my knife was dirty :(
I ordered a salad but the avocado served had black spots.
Lovely evening outdoors, wait staff was phenomenal, food was fabulous
I love the food, I love the wait staff and I love this restaurant!
So many good options for entrees and dessert it was hard to choose! Several vegetarian options available as well.
The food was average at best. The latte was hard to finish (bitter and unbalanced). We had a similar experience a few months ago but wanted to give it another try since the ambience is so lovely. Unfortunately we won’t be back.
We had excellent service, food was pretty good as well - I ordered beef tenderloin (it was a bit overcooked but still good - just not great, but then again it's not a steak house (I typically find he best steaks are at restaurants that specialize in it). For the price of the steak I would have been better off going to a steak house. My friend ordered a hamburger and tuna tar tar appetizer which she REALLY enjoyed. The service from wait staff was superb! Truffle fries are delish! I would consider visiting again but I wouldn't get the steak.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I go to Summerhouse at least 3-4 times a month and NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!
The fish tacos were great, but a little over priced. The shaved brussel sprout salads were not very flavorful. All in all, a very nice place for lunch. Will return.
Never disappointed. Summer House atmosphere, food, service, value for money are always worth a visit.
