Sat down for our booking. Was told within 5 mins that we would need to leave in 40 minutes because the owner had booked the place from 8pm for a private function that would take up the whole restaurant. Walked out without eating anything.
Cute restaurant. The food was completely cold and bland. I would not come back, it was a disappointment.
one of my FAVORITE places in the city. so cute !! and the food is amazing. do yourself a favor and get the lobster roll, also the drinks are very creative and tasty
gr8. 10/10 m8. grat tim. would eat again. this has to be 59 characters. yeet on em
Double date. Felt rushed. Food was decent - fries were incredible.
Restaurant smelled like trash and food was not good
One if my favorite new spots
Food was amazing - cool bar
I really enjoyed this restaurant. Has a nice, relaxed feeling inside - like you're escaping from the city. The sunflower hummus with vegetables was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The tuna nicoise salad was generous in size and the tuna was cooked to perfection. The homemade chocolate cake was heavenly. The prices were quite reasonable for the neighborhood and my server April was super sweet and most efficient. Would highly recommend this place for a nice, casual lunch or a fun dinner.
My friends and I cane came for a birthday celebration and were very underwhelmed. After a lengthy wait for our apps, entrees arrived just a few minutes later after we had just taken a few bites. Food was mediocre and overpriced. There were really only two desserts on the menu and we chose one that was terrible. We told the waiter and sent it back and at least he didn’t charge us. We had to chase down the waiter throughout the evening. Something definitely seemed off tonight.
Birthday brunch for my 38 year old niece.
The restaurant was pretty empty at 1:30pm but the three of us waited for more than 20 minutes before a waitress came take our order. I waited for another 20 minutes for my coffee, and another 30-40 minutes for the first dish, and the waitress disappeared for the next hour. No one was adding water for us. The food was poor and VERY overpriced for the quality and quantity.
Agreed the lobster roll is meaty, and the right size, as well, but the lettuce piece under the lobster obscured the roll, and made eating it the traditional way, like a hot dog, a bit difficult. My partner had the spareribs which were delicious, but over done. Our service was just fine, but the music is unnecessary and makes the place much noisier than it should be. It is unfortunate that we can't provide a better recommendation, because the place is just 2 and a half blocks away.
The food had no taste whatsoever. We shared an Avocado Toast and the bread was mushy, there was NO flavor at all, and the avocado toast was removed from the bill after we complained, but still paid $15 for a Diet Coke, cup of coffee and a side of bacon. Won’t return there again
Service was fine. The lobster roll was meaty. Could do without the background music which was not played for any ambiance reason.
We split just about every small plate and appetizer. Then had dessert. The dessert was especially delicious and a decent portion size too!
Amazing service! Our waiter was very friendly and gave us drinks on the house due to our frozen drinks taking a while to make. Will definitely come again!!
The service was great but the overnight oats and chicken sausage were less than desirable. However, the manager did not charge us for the oats. I have been here before and enjoyed everything. I just wouldn’t recommend these to specific items.
Excellent food and cozy Nantucket like interior. We’ll be back for chicken pot pie alone.
Great as always!!
This restaurant is delightful; the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is great. (Their brussels sprouts are absolutely fantastic!!)
Large windows enabled lots of outside light to shine in, with booths set up to enjoy the street view. We had a party of four who savored every last bite. My chicken pot pie was spot on, with a beautiful flaky crust. If you like cocktails, try their version of an old-fashioned! I remember it had “Dad” in the name. Tribeca is out of our neighborhood, but will not hesitate on return visit soon
We had lunch on Mother’s Day and had a great time. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and welcoming. We love the ambience, such a beautiful space with lots of daylight. We have been a number of times, and the playlist is always great! Such a great vibe both visually and acoustically.
They sat us 3 black females by the emergency door and had patrons walking in the restaurant without telling us there is a possibility of traffic. The people were coming in off the street with my pocketbook exposed and us not knowing what was going on. When I spoke to the manager and my waiter both said the same thing there is a sign for pp not to enter but why place us in this spot when there was plenty of other tanles we could have sat but I guess we didn’t seem important in looks to qualify for other tables. It is their lost cuz I planned to have a office get together with 12pp but we will go to their competition Serafina across the street. Thanks for nothing Sunny Day cafe
Went for dinner with friends. The decor is very feminine and fun. We were seated in a booth which was protected by walls and felt very private. Servers and wait staff were very kind and friendly. We shared the crispy cauliflower to start, which was delicious! Two of us had lobster rolls. The peppers on top were extremely hot, which is great for some people, but too much for me. But otherwise, it was a generously portioned solid lobster roll with an enormous pile of fries to compliment. Our other friend got the chicken pot pie, which she really enjoyed. We ended with the cheese cake because it fit our craving at the time, but we want to try the lemon meringue next time as it was highly recommended by our server. Overall, we had a really nice time at Summer Day. A great place to meet friends. I would imagine the decor makes this a lovely place in the day, especially for weekend brunch!
Disappointing - price point was off, service was inconsistent, food was not memorable. The place lacked the vibrancy it is looking for. We summed it up as not worth it for a Saturday brunch with friends.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Easy neighborhood sport
I really liked the menu
Loved it. Great addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely go back.
Summer Day was the perfect find for brunch. Great location, perfect atmosphere, delicious food and amazing service from Tom. I would return to and recommend Summer Day.
I had brunch and lunch on another day. Lunch was better but brunch was not good. Portions small, bad service and there were very few people in the restaurant. I really thought it was going to be good but just another Tribeca restaurant charging a lot and not worth it.
Service was great. Great bloody Mary’s and cool cocktails. Crowded enough to have people there but not to crowded I’ll def be back
They were great with our kid who was making a mess all brunch long. Very good for families.
Food was ok, service as well... All good but... Can't stand the paper straws......
Food was delicious! The avacado toast was the best I’ve ever had. And the thick cut bacon superb. I thought the portions were just right, but my husband commented that the breakfast sandwich was smaller than expected (meaning so delicious, he wanted more). Service and atmosphere super friendly and just right for Sunday brunch. Background music really fun but maybe just a wee bit loud for the four of us. I will back!!
I enjoyed Summer Day very much. The ambience was terrific, it was a sunny day and the main dining area was bright and open. Food was great, service was great, a really nice place!
Hair in the sugar dish, pancakes too heavy and disappointing
The food was very good. There were three of us and we all enjoyed our meals. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but we were seated in the corner next to the supplies and in a large plant. The music was blasting - and we couldn't hear one another. The food is quite good - but it's too expensive for what you're getting and the type of restaurant. I hope they last here - it's a cute place - but there are too many other options in Tribeca to spend this kind of money on a casual place.
Food was great - well cooked, decent portions, well presented. Service attentive & friendly.
Although we had a group of 8 for brunch, I had reserved a table so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise. The wait wasn’t too long, and we got out drinks fairly quickly(I did enjoy my Bloody Mary—a very important component of a satisfactory brunch), the food took FAR TOO LONG. My avocado toast was served on a piece of “toast” that was literally black burnt and hard as cement (we were not charged—so thanks for that). Conversely, the English muffin with the Benedict wasn’t cooked at all. Sorry, but we won’t be back.
