The food was good! Waitress went out of her way to check on peanut/tree nut allergies ; Checked with the chef (owner?) who looked over at us, but did not bother to come speak with us. Odd that after assuring us they tried hard to be a “nut free” restaurant due to owners child’s allergies, all but 2 desserts had actual nuts in them. Also, they added gratuity on for a party of 6 at lunch. I don’t like that, and so although I would typically have tipped at a higher percentage I just left it as is.
Everything we ordered was excellent authentic and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive we liked the ambience as it was lively with nice vibe
Will definitely be back again
Great service, prompt food, and good environment
Dinner and service was amazing! Came here on a Saturday night, entire place was packed, but it was relatively quiet (in a good way - no need to shout over too-loud music). Service was outstanding - our waiter was incredibly attentive despite having a full row of tables to serve. Food was delish - got the potato croquettes to start, for mains I got cacio e pepe and my boyfriend got chicken parm. Both were sooo good. Definitely recommend dinner here, I would love to try it for brunch/lunch.
Food and service were great. Portions were perfect
Really nice atmosphere and good food!
I went to lunch with my friend during a weekday. The food was delicious and the service very good. The one advice I have is perhaps turn down the music volume a little more. Folks go to eat lunch to want to talk and we kept having to repeat ourselves during the entire course. Music should be loud enough to just hear something is playing, but I don't need to hear the actual words being sung (that competes with the person I'm trying to speak to at my table).
I remember having a better meal on my first visit. Overall the food was adequate, but not really memorable in any way... probably won't be returning.
Sunday brunch. Nice atmosphere. Fresh yogurt parfait & delicious stuffed french toast
Amazing meal. Our server helped us navigate the menu, turned us on to options we hadn't noticed, and we enjoyed every bite. Flash-fried artichokes, truffle fries and mushroom contorni were a great start. Salads were sizable, well crafted and adorned with delicious salmon. Carbonara and seafood pasta also excellent. We'll be back soon!
Food is good and service is amazing ! I enjoyed lunch with my friend and it will might be to-go lunch for me.
Food and service was great. The service was fast until the very end. We had told the server that we had to leave by 7:30 for a play and it took a while both to get the check and for the server to return to process the payment which caused a little nervousness. Other than that, all was good. Everyone liked the food and ambiance.
We have visited this restaurant on several occasions. A few weeks ago, we visited and the experience was not great. It caused me to give it an average review. However, we decided to give it another try. We found the restaurant to be on point. From the salad to the dessert, they did a great job.
We will definitely be keeping Sulmona on our list of neighborhood restaurants to dine!
Fantastic food, service, and experience. The restaurant was so wonderful dealing with our large party. Definitely will return :)
Our experience was outstanding. The menu had something for everyone and the ambiance is really nice. Several folks in our group commented on the overall design. Our server Daniel was very friendly and knowledgeable. The porchetta was super tender and well seasoned. All the entrees were great. At the end of our meal they surprised us with a bottle of sparkly to celebrate the great year we had-completely unexpected. Perfect ending to a great night.
Checked in early for a drink...some pretty nice cocktail specials...big bar with lots of seating and good TV viewing. They sat and dinner...service was good as was wine list..not over that way often but nice proximity to the Kendall theaters...quite a few younger people as that’s the area...enjoyable
Great for our bachelorette party with 14 people!
Big portions, great food, great atmosphere!
Great place,Great food a must for Italian food.best Italian food around.
A great experience for any occasion. will definitely return
We have visited this restaurant several times. Either there is a new chef or a new manager as the quality of the food is in decline. The pizza did not seem fresh. We ordered a Margarita pizza which was full of cheese and in no way a classic. It was not good at all which was surprising given the attention to detail that is normally paid to the other dishes. We normally love the apple crostata. It was dry with limited apples.
We will be taking a break from the restaurant with the hope that they will pull it together.
The carbonara was outstanding and the other meals were very good. The cheese board was a generous assortment of widely differing cheeses. The decor is very "industrial", but comfortable. We went on New Year's Day so there were few other customers...thus I can't really determine normal noise levels. The service could not be faulted. It was not inexpensive. I recommend the place highly.
Excellent service and even better food
Lovely managerial wait staff. Food was excellent which was refreshing coming from a NY Italian. The decor was fun and vintagey. We made reservations for 5 on New Year’s Eve which was the perfect time. Not a lot of seating so would recommend booking ahead. There was however extra space at the bar and cocktails were PHENOMENAL, we tried the peach Bellini, mr. papagiorgio, and the Rosa. Would definitely come back again. Thanks for a great night!!
We went on New year's Eve dinner and a bit early so it was quiet but even when people started trickling in it wasn't too bad. The food was delish and the service was great!
I expected the food to be a lot better. Overall it was ok.
Excellent meal, superb wine and amazing service. A real holiday treat
Amazing ambiance, fantastic wine list, and incredible food. Get the chicken parm. Not to mention the BEST dessert I’ve ever had (chocolate hazelnut cake). Highly recommend for everything from a family dinner to a date night!
Outstanding food and ambiance
We had planned an early dinner (5pm) for our company (just our team of 5) to celebrate the holiday season. Food and drink were good but we felt rushed out. There was a large table seated next to us that clearly needed more space and the host and our server kept coming over to see if we were done. We just wanted to sip our last drinks and chat. We left before 7 having felt awkward with the eyes on us. I’ve worked in the industry and I know it happens, but you should expect this time of year tables won’t leave in 1.5 hours or less... don’t overbook your reservations
Food and service were very good. Solid menu items to satisfy everyone in the party. Will certainly be going back.
Friendly wait staff
perhaps i was not expecting it to have tvs and a large loud cavernous dining room
Great for a lively atmosphere with tasty Italian food.
We were looking for “porchetta” an italian dish rather difficult to execute at home: Well, what I got was an overcooked piece of flabby pork that probably was kept in the fridge for weeks, some sort of bbq sauce on top, lots of carrots and polenta. Honestly, I didn’t understand; they spent a lot of money in that place looking great but the “main dish” was terrible. They even have a pork statue with the word “porchetta” when you enter! My wife’s fish had too much oil around and was overcooked as well. Why open a restaurant and not even do mediocre food but really bad one? stay away!
One of the very best Italian restaurants I have ever visited. Everything was fresh and the portions were large. Arancici was amazing, and the porchetta was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Very attentive waitstaff. Service was top-notch, atmosphere was great, and the food was absolutely delicious.
First time dining here. Loved it. Food was very good but the fish was just a tad dry. Atmosphere was also great. Only complaint was that there were some small children that the parents were letting run around the restaurant. I was worried that one of the waiters would run into them.
Our server Roosevelt was great
