Sulmona Restaurant | Bar
Marcela was an excellent server! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!
Very nice- server was very familiar with the menu and was able to describe dishes well. Also was able to get a bowl of soup for my husband - wasn’t normally on the dinner menu (on for lunch though).
Nice dinner, grilled octopus was standout app. Panzanella salad with nicely ripe tomatoes, bolognese pasta special yummy. Good wine choices. Would have been nice if they brought bread with the wine. We'll be back for sure!
Service and food was fair but not great. Our server kept forgetting to bring us drinks... he seemed a little preoccupied with his phone.
This was my fifth time in the last six months. Top notch as always.
Used this place twice for business dinner with my colleagues. Good menu selections and comfortable ambient.
Music bad and ridiculously loud
Fabulous place. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Cool, low-key but vibrant vibe. What more can one ask for? Everyone in our party loved it. We have already recommended it to people and will be back soon.
We think Sulmona is worth the 40 minute drive and have made that drive 3 times since Halloween. The food is delicious and the ambience is great. Be sure to give it a try.
The service was horrible. We asked for our check and then left.
This place has the greatest wine list I have seen in the city!
Great place! Awesome bar, great service, incredible food especially the funghi pizza!
Amazing. Best food and service combo we have ever had. 10/10.
Went on New Years eve, restaurant busier than usual. Food delicious, did not feel rushed.
We had a family brunch there on a Saturday afternoon with 9 people. The waiter was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu items. My niece has a peanut allergy and the staff was extremely well trained to handle this special accommodation. The food was delicious and well prepared. It was not noisy at all and we had a great conversation with family members we had not seen for a year.
Menu is a bit minimal for brunch, and the service was a bit familiar, but very friendly.
This place is always great. Love that they change the utensils between courses and how clean it is. Love the arancini and the Caesar.
Saw them on Phantom Gourmet ... and the experience did not disappoint!
Holiday dinner with family. Food was good. Service was excellent.
Excellent experience for our work holiday gathering. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional despite our large group size. Very glad we chose Sulmona for our meal and gathering. Would absolutely come back again!
The food at Sulmona was great, but I was not a huge fan of their table service. The restaurant was practically empty when we were there, yet I felt like they were trying to rush us out of there as quickly as possible. When we were eating our appetizers, the waitresses began to clear the plates of those people that they thought were finished with their appetizers, but there were still a few people at the table very obviously enjoying their meal. It was the same thing with dinner. I would have preferred they wait until everyone was finished with their course to clear plates because I felt like the waitress was choosing when I was finished with my course, not me. Also, I got up to secretly ask a waitress to put a candle in one of the desserts to celebrate a birthday, and was very disappointed when that didn’t happen. Finally, the waitress brought the check and said no rush, but after that happened no one came back to fill up waters and treat us as if we were still guests in the restaurant.
Service was a little slow in the beginning however when our waiter was free to wait on us the service improved even though there were few workers who where walking around and not helping any of the wait staff !! We ordered Aran hini ( which was flavorful and tasty ) and 2 pizza with wine
One pizza was cold and the other one good temprature !! Washington wine was excellent . They could improve in their salads for vegetarians not too many options I would go back for wine and appetizers
Great place with a diverse menu. Highly recommend.
Late for setting up a table for us and service is bad
I enjoyed the food here a lot! We were treated with the calamari app for agreeing to move tables after being seated and that was pretty standard. We then ordered a Caesar salad (surprising it just comes with anchovies and the waiter didn't ask if we wanted them) which had a good lettuce combo and then the grilled octopus, so yummy, and the Piave cheese, tasty hard cheese similar to Parmesan I thought. For dinner we split the lobster pizza which was amazing!! I would recommend the food and atmosphere here but offer a warning that the service was pretty lacking in that we placed our order and then were pretty much left alone for the entire meal which is fine for chatting but we could of used another round of drinks/more water during the meal.
This was our 7th visit. Love this restaurant. Excellent service. Excellent wine menu.
Average, across the board. Food was average, service was good but not great by any stretch. It's all just average.
Have had 2 different business lunches here and really enjoyed it both times. Energetic but not too loud, service was fantastic and food was very good. Nice options for appetizers and lunch entrees. Great central location.
Specifically enjoyed a very good salad; everything was fresh. Also recommend the Meatball and calamari appetizers.
Went for the first time last night and ate at the bar. I liked everything about this place. Pizza was yummy. Chicken Parm was good but even better after I asked for some extra sauce. The bar staff was very friendly and attentive. I liked the ambience too.
Food is always delicious (love the pizza!) and the service is great; love the atmosphere and décor. Great for date night or family dinner night. Very nice, helpful and hard-working staff.
Sulmona is a great jewel. The food and service are outstanding. The decor and ambience are vibrant and fun. Love the nod to Salmon, Italy with the arched structure over the bar. It's worth the drive!
Friday night in Cambridge, still a good number of people around but not too many. Great for a 3-4 people, can still hear and talk, but not hear everyone else. Everyone liked the food, the cocktails and the wine we chose. Discerning guests used to high end food really liked it for their first time.
Our group of 5 had an early, relatively dinner (4:30) before a seminar (6:00). The restaurant's decor was interesting and appealing; the waiter was friendly, helpful and added to the experience; the food was excellent (I had the Wild Boar Ragu); splitting the bill into 2 parts, one for 4 people and one for 1 person was no problem. The prices were on the high side, and the noise level rose as the restaurant filled up--but we would recommend Sulmona and will go again ourselves.
We were there for a business meal. Service was great and the food was very good. They are always very attentive to the number of pieces in shareable dishes/appetizers (to match the number of diners, if the standard size is not enough; not free, but good to have the option and flexibility).
The only negative is the absence of a coat rack/hangers. During the winter keeping the coats at the table can make the seats feel very crammed, especially when sitting at a booth. Their booths then to be small.
I brought relatives for dinner on Sunday night. They liked the casual vibe with really good food. Service was super-attentive and responsive to some dietary restrictions. Nice feel in the room - lighting, openness, noise level. One issue: cocktail was weak and too sweet. A bourbon shot to fortify it cost $10.
My favorite restaurant in the Greater Boston Area - food is always incredible (best brunch food in Cambridge in my opinion), the interior is really cool, cocktails are amazing and even the playlist for the background music is good. Really reasonable prices, too 🙏🏼
Celebrated my birthday with family. Ordered many small plates, all delicious. From Caesar salad, antipasto items, arancini etc. I couldn’t say enough about the magnificent food and wine selection. Wonderful ambiance, light music could be heard, but not at all interfering with our conversation. Can’t wait to go back.
My first lunch at Sulmona. it was lively, full of people (make a reservation !) Will be back...
Everything was mediocre- pet peeve, the various cheese we had including Burrata were ICE cold— and waitress seemed harried and not knowledgeable. The kitchen was clearly busy and she told us she couldn’t take any special orders because of that (special order meaning my friend asked if she could order a half portion of pasta or could she have a whole portion but just have half boxed up before it got to her because she is on a diet) and she she communicated it in a way that was not particularly apologetic. It was very expensive for what we got both food and service wise. I would not go back.
