An off-night for Sullivans I think. We made a reservation for 6:30 pm. I received my entree - a not attractive and very undercooked steak - at just after 8pm. They were clearly understaffed, and things were moving slowly. The manager was very concerned, and tried to make it right - even comped my entree. But it was not up to Sullivans standards.
First time eating here and it wasn't too bad. I would recommend this place for anyone coming into town that doesn't want tasty Flemmings vibe but still classy.... Made my friends birthday dinner special with the unique touch they have. Only dislike was the busboy wasn't responsive when thanked for doing his part nor did he excuse himself when reaching across the table to refill glasses...
1. The wine list has no prices, so you ask the waiter, he goes in the back, and tells you the price. Pick another wine, same process. You scan the QR code to get the list and there are no prices
2. If you name says steakhouse you better be able to get steak temperatures correct. No here.
3. Website says live music. Crickets.
There were several babies and toddlers who were occasionally loud and/or crying in the bar, which made it distracting when trying to watch the games on television. Also, ever since Sullivan's was purchased by the Macaroni Grill folks, service has been a bit slow. For example, when we asked why our steaks (that needed to be refired because they arrived well done instead of medium rare) were taking so long to arrive, the bartender/server dismissively said, "It's a busy steakhouse - you'll have that." As our potatoes and mushrooms sat there getting colder by the minute, I said, "Normally when the restaurant screws up, they make fixing its mistakes a priority." Eventually they brought out steaks at the correct temperature and redid our side dishes. Things like that didn't used to happen before the ownership change.
We never got bread served or one of our dinners that were ordered though our waiter tried to make up for it by not charging for certain courses.
Great food and service in a COVID-19 Compliant atmosphere.
Staff was a little behind in the kitchen and bar, but Hunter our server was checking back with us to keep us updated. Hunter was very attentive, personable and friendly. Once dinner arrived it was great as usual..

We were sat in a wonderful booth, service was pretty good, which is very hard to find in Tucson. The crab legs were to die for, steak was cooked to perfection; however, the prime rib sammy was very chewy, gristly, and overcooked. We couldn't even finish it. All in all it was a pretty good night, but the prime rib definitely needs some TLC.
Had to go inside three times:
1) after 10-15 minutes to ask if there was a server assigned to our table;
2) after another 20 minutes to ask if we were ever going to get any food; and
3) 20 minutes later to ask if the good that was promised would ever actually arrive.
A really bad experience! Luckily, I’ve been at Sullivan’s enough times in the past to know that this fiasco was not typical!!
Service was slow due to reduced staff numbers because of Covid restrictions. Looked like only one chef. One steak was overdone but in general the food was delicious.
Horrible service, mediocre food (grossly overpriced for the quality) and poor vetting of guests. They use disposable menus and don’t even bother printing updated selections.
Both food and service were outstanding. I commend the management for doing a great job of making the dining room Covid safe with glass partitions installed throughout. Great value for the quality of food.
The food was fabulous. The salmon was perfect. Chris took great care of us.
Booked for Christmas dinner, steak was over cooked and lobster was undercooked. Service was outstanding and the manager comped the undercooked food.
We had a reservation for 5:45 p.m. and they seated us at 6:05. They overbooked for Christmas Eve dinner. They had 2 tables of 15 people each table that the staff seemed to focus on. We immediately ordered appetizers then waited quite a while to order dinner. We got our salads before we got our appetizers!! We ended up getting our appetizers 1 hour after we ordered them! 2 hours elapsed before we got our main dishes!! The food was good. The waiter kept apologizing for the wait, I asked if they were understaffed he said no they just overbooked reservations. At the end he apologized for the wait and offered us a desert, one desert, for the wait. We took the single piece of cheesecake to go. Horrible experience for the money we spent. Do not give them your business!!!

After getting seated we all noticed a smell of sulfur and what would be described as “urinal cakes”. When we talked with the hostess she said “yes the smell is from next door “. She did not regret or apologize no empathy shown
Been there several times before and never noticed the smell. Got to get this fixed as it does not go well with fine dinning

Great locale. The food was superb and the staff was attentive, courteous, friendly. The noise level was low so my dinner partner and I could hear ourselves talk. I highly recommend this restaurant. Hats off to everyone that provided a great experience.

If you want a luxury dining experience Sullivan's is one of the places in Tucson to go. The food is outstanding the service is attentive without being overbearing. We enjoyed a nice dinner with friends.
The turkey was horrible. Seemed pressed not from a breast. Brussel sprouts were a mush. Not worth the money. Could eat better at Cracker Barrel
To give my elderly mother a break from cooking Thanksgiving this year, we decided to go here, based on the menu and my prior positive dining experience. However, this was not the case. The menu was what was advertised, and our server was enthusiastic and attentive, but those are the only two stars I can provide. The food was not very good (the turkey was quite salty). The ambience was ridiculous, with the hustle and bustle of workers filling to-go orders and moving past us frequently and in a hurry. This was not at all a pleasant setting. As such, it was not good value, and I can't imagine we'd go back, at least for Thanksgiving.
It has been several years since we have been to Sullivan's Steakhouse. If our friends had not given us a gift we probably wouldn't have been back because our last experience was horrific.
This time we were pleasantly surprised. The waitress and the manager took the time to welcome us. The food was great as were our beverages even though the menu was reduced because of the darn COVID - 19.
Let us hope we can get back to a fairly normal dining experience.
We have been eating at Sullivans for many years, usually for special occasions and it never disappointed. That being said, apparently the pandemic has hit this place hard. The interior looked pretty worn, the service used to be highly attentive, now we would rate it just "OK, nothing special". The food used to be incredible in terms of quality and flavor, our steaks had good flavor, but the quality of the meat was poor - lots of gristle. I ordered mine medium rare and it was basically raw and cold. Considering they are still charging nearly $75-100/person for dinner & drinks, I have to say it was definitely disappointing. Hopefully once the pandemic is over they can get back to operating as a high-quality, high-end restaurant, but sadly right now they are only charging the high-end prices, without providing the high-end service or food.
Hunter, our server, was an exemplary host. We look forward to a return visit!

No prime beef except for a marginal NY Strip. Nice ambiance, slightly above average sides of garlic mashed and mac & cheese. Decent Caesar salad. My fault for not calling and checking on beef selections. Sullivan’s is just like a Flemming’s. Not bad unless you frequented steakhouses like Delmomico, Jean Georges, Craft Steak, or even Morton’s.

Sullivan’s is a great restaurant and we just had a really lousy experience. Due to Covid we wanted to sit outside. Not the same ambiance.
Service was very slow. The only bartender was waiting on tables at the inside bar and on the outside patio as well as serving all the drinks. Our food was served cold, we would have complained to the waitress but she didn’t come back. We ran out of water. I asked a manager for it and he did bring it over. Shortly afterwards with more tables being sat we saw the manager get in his car and leave. It was around 630. I really hope this was a one time thing.
Tipped the server anyway. Not really her fault but not a good dining experience.
Our server was great. Super sweet and attentive. Unfortunately, most of our food was cold except for the burgers. The prime rib sandwich was overcooked and fries were cold. Mac & Cheese was like warm. No Lobster bisque (they ran out) with an empty restaurant. Brussel sprouts were the only thing hot. The inside definitely needs a face lift since the restaurant is 20 years old. Back in the day this place was always hustling and the food was on point. Maybe it’ll come back to excellence once the Covid restrictions lift.
The staff at Sullivan’s really took great care of our evening. Our waiter was very friendly and always had great recommendations for what we should pair with our meal. The food was prepared exactly to what we ordered. Thank you for such amazing service and making our anniversary a special one we will never forget.

Have nothing but positive things to say. I was seated on time, food was delicious, extra bread was provided. Everyone was very friendly.
Excellent for special occasions; service and food are always outstanding. We were disappointed that the sea bass was not on the menu, but were told with 24 hours notice that the chef could probably have it available.
The rack of lamb vas very good, our wine selection which was on the website was not available, the wine steward mentioned their competitor, Fleming’s procured all available Bottles; wine inventory should be monitored & adjusted daily!
Sullivan’s is one of our Tucson favorites...great food and wine, atmosphere and reasonable prices. Great job.
Just wish this virus would go away, come on vaccine! Would certainly make things better for everyone!!
