While the overall experience was good, the checkin process was not positive. The hostess had no warmth or personality plus she informed me I had no reservation. When I showed her my opentable email and confirmation she just showed me her tablet to tell me that she had nothing.
Not what I would expect a service person to do, especially since they were not sold out.
The food and service were outstanding, but the empty tables for social distancing made it a little lonely. I can hardly wait for things to get back to normal.
Very attentive service. Quiet spot mid week. Delicious food.
We went expecting to have a good steak dinner but the smallest size piece of meat was 14 oz which is way too much for either of us. We ended up having fish which was OK But not what was planned. For a Saturday night, there weren’t many people.
Food was fantastic and steak came out at the right temperature. Host was knowledgeable in the menu and made great recommendations.
Quiet night great food
The food was awesome as usual, however, we did not have the most attentive waiter (Connor).
We had to ask for flatware-knives for 3 of our party of 7 as they were cleared with the appetizers. My 90 year-old mother found tin foil in her Caesar salad (didn’t eat the rest of the salad).
Also we were provided with no spoons for the 2 cocktail shrimp appetizers (of 4 appetizers) that were ordered for the cocktail sauce and had no spoons as part of our table setting. How come? Each guest should have also received a complete table setting, e.g. dinner and salad fork, knife, and spoon.
One guest had no wine glass so a different waiter grabbed one off of an adjacent table.
Not up to Sullivan’s usual with wait staff! No excuses, as there were only about 5 tables with customers seated from 5:30 to when we left at 7:30!
Disappointed! This was my father’s 91st birthday and we come every year (for the last 10 years) from Minnesota.
Not sure what was going on, but it was hard to find our waiter so we had to ask someone else for missing items.
Not sure we’ll repeat based on the service! So strange for Sullivan’s.
We’ve been long time customers of Sullivan’s. All visits have been great, except for this one. Service was very good as were the appetizers and side dishes. Probably the first time in my life the steak was cold in the center and the plate too. We ordered medium rare, never been a problem before. I don’t have a problem with more to the rare side, but this was cold. Not one of their better nights!
Steak was over cooked, took 20 minutes to replace my steak with the correct one, sides were cold and company had finished there dinner. Waiter did not offer anything other than a free dessert, replacement steak was bland, don’t recommendation.
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Sullivan’s provided us with a free dessert in honor of our anniversary and a nice photo of my wife and I together.

Valentines Day is always a very busy night to go out so the service was a little slow but that is to be expected. Had a lovely evening!
Food could have been better
Hunter and Joseare national treasures and make every experience at Sullivan's fun,delicious and special.
Service was slow and confused. I get that you’re busy with the Gem Show and Valentines Day weekend, but for what you charge-especially for booze—it should be better and quicker
This was our first visit to Sullivan’s. Three of us had the filet mignon and agreed that it was the best steak we have been served in any restaurant. Done to perfection. Very attentive service and helpful in working our way through the menu.
At this price- point, it was disappointing.
Our server was attentive and kind. The setting was pleasant mostly. The steak and crab cakes were tasty. Ceasar dressing was delicious.
On the negative side, there were little things that should be taken care of in a restaurant that is trying to appeal to this level of dining. The candle at our table was unlit. The wood slat blinds in the entryway where disheveled and perhaps broken. It just made it shoddy.
The one truly unacceptable part of our experience: $11 scalloped potatoes included cold parts and even uncooked potato. We let the server know, she apologized, yet we were still charged for them!
There would need to be some improvements before we returned or would ever recommend this spot to our friends and visitors here in Tucson.
My date and I had a wonderful dining experience at Sullivan's. The service was excellent and the food spectacular! Our steaks were tender and flavorful. We look forward to returning there very soon. In my opinion it is the best restaurant in Tucson!
Came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. All the dishes we had were perfectly cooked and delicious. In fact, the salmon I chose was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. What made this evening even better was the great service. Thank you for make our evening memorable. We will definitely be returning!
Have been there multiple times in the past. This occurrence was unusual as the service was very slow and very poor. Food was excellent as usual. Suspecting a waiter issue more than anything.
We were in a private room with a 9 person reservation. Everything was perfect!
Food and service were fantastic, but the wait time for our food was over an hour after we ordered.
We loved Sullivan's when it was in Denver and were sad when they closed. So we were delighted to see that they are in Tucson.
Sullivan's has lost it way. This is the 4th time in a row that we had a poor experience at this location. The waiter was scattered and kept forgetting our requests and never followed up asking us for additional drinks when our wine glasses were empty and my martini glass was empty. The steak I ordered came out twice not cooked correctly and I gave up. The icing on the cake so to speak was the manager talking about our table in front of us to other managers and to wait staff. Hint to management - if you want to speak badly about guests you should avoid doing it directly in front of guests. I would suggest going anywhere else but Sullivan's to get a steak in Tucson since they have just given up on providing a good guest experience.
Sullivan’s is always fantastic. The atmosphere is always upbeat even when they are not busy. The dark woods and perfect lighting make the large room feel warm and inviting.
I love to bring a large crowd or have date night with my husband at Sullivan’s. Jazz music in the bar is fun if you can find a seat.
The waiters are always prepared and provide great service without hovering or interrupting conversation.
We last minute decided to take 8 people , looked on open table, reserved a spot for 1 hour later and they found room for us. The hostess was very polite and accommodating.
I highly recommend the Tucson location as well as The Austin TX downtown location. The only ones we have been to so far. It’s pricy but well worth it!!!! Cheers.
I can not say enough positive things about Sullivans's. This place is top notch: from the front desk staff who helped me purchase a gift card to ould pay for my parents' meal, to the wait staff that made them feel like they were the only customers dining, the chefs that brought the steaks to the table for them to personally check if they were cooked to perfection, the other staff who wished them happy anniversary, and the attention to details like writing Happy Anniversary in chocolate on their dessert plate...need I say more. My parents couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the experience was and my mom went so far as to say the fillet mignon melted in her mouth and that the dining experience alone made the trip from WA to AZ worthwhile. I can not thank you all enough for showing my mom and dad such a special time for their 60th!
Very disappointed with our experience at Sullivan’s this time. I’m a fan, but they were not on their game tonight:
- Seated 20 min later than reservation time. It was busy so fine...
- Out of Ribeyes! What?! That was the whole point!
- 25 mins for bread
- 30 mins for drinks to come out, after having to remind the waiter
- Order was wrong
- 3 sides incorrect
- bacon/blue cheese topping not served as ordered, brought out later on the side
- waiter was flippant, tried to play off the mistakes by blaming the kitchen
- we were there for over 2 hours and had to take our dessert to go so we wouldn’t be late for our after-dinner engagement.
When you spend $500 on dinner you expect it to be on point. They weren’t even close. So so disappointing. Still trying to get over it...
We come every year for our anniversary. We are always well taken care of.
Overall, we had a good experience. The service was very attentive and helpful. I paid a $20 upgrade for the Wagyu steak (ordered medium-rare). I was served rare, sent back to adjust the steak temperature and came back to me cooked medium so I really did not enjoy the steak. After dinner, the coffee was served lukewarm. The other items we ordered were very good (I recommend the Cheesesteak eggroll appetizer. It's very tasty and unique).
I will revisit them but they need to tighten a few things up. Sometimes, the little things matter most.
2 orders where wrong, food took 1.5hrs to come out, service was not on point. I think it was just a bad day for them, nothing personal.
I enjoyed my meal at Sullivan's Steakhouse. The ambiance was great and I loved the food.
To be fair, it was Christmas night so this review may not be justified but here it is:
- No service at the bar for 10 minutes
- Bartender complained about "corporate"
- Unclean glassware at table
- Server didn't know basic preparation info about the menu
- Server offered bread that he never brought
- Server never poured from the bottle of wine after opening
- Chicken entree was missing potatoes and was, basically, a dry, baked chicken ($29)
- Salmon with caesar salad (all I wanted to order after the lack of menu info) was small and not fresh ($19)
- Server never checked on food until after one person was done
- Table next to us complained that our food came before theirs
As experienced, travelled diners, the prices are comparable to New York for food that is comparable to a benefit dinner. We had better food, service, and prices at a nice restaurant at the airport on our way to Tucson. There are some excellent corporate-owned restaurants but this isn't one of them.

Serve staff and manager fantastic! Kitchen mix up & food slow to come out. Appreciate managements awareness and for stepping in with out us having to ask.
This is the second time we have been disappointed in Sullivan's. It was Christmas but still the service was extremely poor. The wine came late. Food came out cool almost cold which for scallops was not good. Had to send them back and then it took another 15 mins to get again tepid scallops. The prices are very high since everything is al la carte and on top of that to have poor service and not that good of food is definitely is not worth it. Will not be going back.
Everything was fine, except I think that the wait person thought I requested my steak to be cooked "medium rare" not "medium well". All was corrected when the steak too rare steack was returned to the kitchen and promptly came back cooked to perfection.
Yes, I'd definitely recommend Sullivan's Steakhouse! We had a delightful and elegant dinner there on Christmas Day. This was our first visit and we WILL return. The service, food and atmosphere were superb!
