We had a terrible experience, first time ever. Celebrating my husband's birthday. He ordered New York strip medium rare, it was well done, you can imagine his dislike. I ordered 8 oz. filet, medium, again well done. Also I sincerely question the size. I am a Weight Watchers member who weighs my food, and my best guess was 6 Oz. maximum. It also took about 1 hour to get our food and it was Sunday night, and certainly not that busy. Waiter and manager kept saying, 2-3 minutes, and eventually our waiter steered clear of our table. The manager tried very hard, wanted to cook us another steak, really at this point we were thoroughly disgusted. Our manager did take care of the bill. However, we live south of Raleigh, which takes us 45-50 minute drive each way. My husband said we will give them one more try, we'll see!
This was our first time and it was it was for our Annivesary. This was way more than we could have expected in a restaurant experience. By far the best that we have ever had thus far.
Service is hit or miss. On this particular night, it was busy, and our service was not responsive at all. Requested booth seating on reservation but got seated at a table. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon.
The steaks are the best in the Triangle, and this last time they upped their game more with a selection on bone in cuts that are flavored to make every bite an experience. Having said that, it isn't cheap and we go there only for special occasions mostly. The service was good not great, but it was one of their busiest nights during the year I am guessing so we will cut them some slack there as the food was outstanding. Our favorite date night or special occasion restaurant in the Triangle.
While on a business trip a couple of weeks ago, my wife had a fantastic bone-in ribeye. For her birthday, we decided to go to Sullivan's so she could try their bone-in ribeye. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close to what she'd had while on her trip. Being a huge fan of wagyu/kobe beef, I ordered the wagyu bone-in strip and was equally disappointed. We did have a great server and a good cocktail. But sadly, our meal's quality was not sufficient for us to make a return visit.
Service was not what will say! Calamari appetizer terrific, onion soup tasteless, burnt on top and a big mushy glob of cheese and bread, broth tasteless. Had better at everyday chain restaurants. Husbands salmon good, my king crab cold, skimpy and dry for the price. Grandsons steak I will say was wonderful. One of the best steaks we ever had and prepared perfectly! Ordered two sides which we never received so cancelled them because by the time waitress passed by we were almost done with entrees. Not once did Shay our waitress stop by to ask how everything was! Very disappointed in service, perhaps we were neglected because we were not a table of adults ordering wine and after dinner drinks, etc.,we were celebrating our 13 year old grandsons birthday! Not the experience we've had there before
The steaks are wonderful! Perfectly seasoned, grilled and tender!
My wife and I went to Sullivan's last
Saturday. We went because we were both hungry for some good steak, and we had been to Sullivan's several times. As is the norm, the food and drinks were right on point. The french onion soup, the cut of beef prepared in an egg roll, and finally a couple 16oz. ribeye's that were fabulous.
Great work again team.
Great service. With your entire staff it was my wife's birthday with promontory this business to all
Food, ambience and wine list are excellent. Top notch.
Absolutely delicious! Tangy calamari. Creamy perfectly chilled Caesar Salad. Thick cheesy French Onion Soup. Buttery tender filet. Lovely personal waitress and charming restaurant manager. Our favorite place in Raleigh.
The food was delicious and reastaraunt was beautiful. Only problem was a fly in my cocktail and the table next to me had one in their wine. I was surprised that it was shrugged off as not a big deal. I never complain I usually just don't go back but this is one of my wife and i favorite spots.
Absolutely wonderful dinner.. The only reason I didn't give the food a five star was because the mac and cheese was a too smoky. Will certainly be back...
Great food! Highly recommend. Better than Sullivan’s.
We went to Sullivan's for my wife birthday. The seating, the wait staff, the food was all top quality. It was a good crowd, with all types of people from dates to business people to families all attending. Really one of the top locations for a great meal.
Absolutely fantastic steaks, prepared perfectly and served exceptionally. Great atmosphere and a very professional friendly staff. What a perfect birthday evening. We shall return !!!!
The date night was amazing
5 stars all around. This is our new go-to for any kind of celebration or special occasion. All of the food was exceptional and the wait staff was extremely kind. The horseradish mashed potatoes are a must. We ordered steaks and were thoroughly impressed.
Waitress forgot to input our appetizer. Finally after our dinner was served we received. Only after we reminded her. She had no clue. Had to order a drink 4 times before receiving. Waitress had issues with another Waiter helping us & scolded him in front of us. Two out of the three of us got sick. They shared a dish, which obviously was the culprit of the sickness. No desire to visit again.
Outstanding service, food, atmosphere, staff, management and experience. Definitely 5 stars!
Sullivan’s has a nice, clubby atmosphere and good service, however, the steaks are quite average. Mine was over cooked, dry and not worthy of a steak-centric dining destination. Angus Barn is too Disney, Sullivan’s has average steaks, Vinnie’s is dated and dark, although I do remember good steaks? I am going there later this week. I’ll check back I and report the difference I see there.
We went to Sullivan's for our Anniversary dinner this past weekend. It was a great experience, very fine dining. It was very expensive and the food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, the experience made it worth it because we had rose pedals on our table and got a complementary dessert! The service was also amazing! Next time, I would chose something a little less pricy for the food.
We celebrated my husband's birthday here and we had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent. They delivered a rose and a slice of birthday cheesecake to the table to make our dining experience a special one.
Sullivan's is our favorite restaurant in Raleigh. We have been there many times and the food has always been excellent.
Jessica was our waitress and I must say that she was very competent and professional. Her recommendations were right on and we will definitely be using the services of this business again. The food was top notch, hands down the best well done steak I have had in my life!!
From the time we walked in, it was Great. Everyone is very Friendly. Our Server Trevor, was knowledgeable about the entire menu, not pushing anything on us and then provided Spot on Service throughout the entire Meal. He was so great I have requested him for our next reservation. The Food is just OUTSTANNDING. From salad, to the steak to the sides we ordered, everything was fabulous. The mushrooms for the steak out of this world and a great compliment to the steak. We were sorry to see the creamed corn was no longer on the menu. Trevor suggested that I include it on my next reservation and they will most likely make it for us. This we shall see. Service and Food was superior to any Steak House we have been to.
Absolutely wonderful experience. I am always hesitant to try a steakhouse because I do not eat red meat but husband does. I had the most amazing seafood dish with the Sea Bass. Husband raved over steak. Salad amazing- wine amazing and our waitress knew so much about the wine menu. Can’t wait to return!
Dinner was exceptional. A little heavy on the salt for the steaks, however, they were cooked to perfection and very tender. Our server Emily and the Manager were exceptional and service could not have been better even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Will definitely plan on dinner @ Sullivan's next time we are back in the area.
Highly disappointed in food, sides were not to the standards expected. Waiter was great!
Took my husband to Sullivan's for our 15th wedding anniversary. The service was exceptional and the food was top notch. We had a great experience and I definitely plan to visit again.
Everything was great. The calamari was way more than we expecteded for an appetizer.
The cheesecake was outstanding. The strawberry topping tasted so fresh.
Service was great food overpriced, servers were very attentive and friendly
The ambiance is not there. The tables are crowded together and you have to say “excuse me”several times when going to the restroom because you have to side step the tables to get there. The mashed potatoes had way too much horse radish in them and the filet mignon was tough on the outside and chewy on the inside. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were extremely tough and had basically no taste. The calamari was too chewy and the sweet sauce is not for everyone. The service was subpar at best. In my opinion this would rate last on my list of fine dining steak houses. I will not be going back.
Parke did a good job on Monday evening. He would check in to make sure I was enjoying my dining experience. Sullivan's was out of the Salmon entree on Monday night, which was one of the three entrees available on the Prix Menu. Parke was able to get management to give me what I wanted. Every aspect of my dining experience met my expectations, as always. Thank you.
Our experience was fantastic. Our server Nikita was great. We really enjoy eating at Sullivan’s.
Great service great food as usual we enjoyed it
Great service from hostess to waiter. My steak was seasoned well and cooked exactly the way I ordered it. My husband said his steak was over seasoned and “okay” but maybe the over seasoning was due to the cut of steak. Overall the food was good but not perfect so it would not be my first choice to come to but it would not be my last choice.
We had a party of 8 people. Out of the 8 meals, 2 of the steaks were completely overcooked. One of the steaks was mine, the guest of honor. It took them more than 20 minutes to get a new steak to me and my friend, once it was finally there, ALL of the other members of our party had already finished their meals. Add to that, the "new" steaks were underdone. But being that our company had already finished their meals, we just ate them anyway, so we would not have to wait another 25 minutes for our meals. Our waiter was nowhere to be found during the entire debacle. The manager came over and comped only my meal. Didn't do anything to go above and beyond in any way. Overall, very disappointing birthday dinner.
Service is excellent ,food is delicious .
Great dining experience
