Simply the worst steak I’ve had in my life. I got the NY Strip medium rare. It was so dry, I was unable to eat it without taking a sip of water after every bit. The quality of the steak was the kind you would get a Applebee’s or Chili’s. The mash potatoes were very watery, no flavor, and seems like it was the powder mash potatoes you’d get in a box at the store. You can tell our server has never served before. She was nice, but she never came to check on us, I wanted to order more drinks but I didn’t want to be that person that keeps going to the bar to order a drink. Our steaks came out when my guests and I weren’t not even half way done with our salads. I would never consider coming back.
Started off with Salads, they were very tasty. I love pepper over the salad, it gives it a nice flavor.
We had the 12 oz NY Strip with mashed p & snap beans. Steak was cooked just right, very tender and juicy.
Then we finished with the banana foster and cheese cake. Both excellent, but the banana foster is your winner for best dessert I've ever had. Well done.
Service was excellent! Top notch.
Raleigh restaurant week special steaks were not good at all. I have gone there before and paid full price for the meals but the special tastes like nothing close to the real priced meals
Sullivans will always be a go-to for me. The food is amazing...the staff is outstanding. The bartenders are entertaining as well as talented. Everyone, from the person who greets you, to the person who seats you everyone has a great attitude. I would have to say best steak house in Raleigh.
I have loved this place for years but out food was only ok quality. I got the my strip and I could have made it and seasoned it better. It was tough and purple even with a medium rare request.
Our not main servers were great. Our main servers was inattentive and uninterested.
We attended during Restaurant week and ordered off of the fixed menu.
Our server was good, but there was an issue with our order and they delivered one entree and we had to ask several minutes later where the other meal was. They rushed this order that caused the steak o be Rare not the medium that was ordered.
My disappointment was that this was all recocognized by the manager but no effort was made at compensating for the errors.
Food was excellent and we enjoyed each others company, so complaining would have further reduced the experience
The shrimp/lobster bisque had no shrimp, no lobster and no taste. 5 of us ordered it and we all said the same. The steak was perfect and very good. Baked potato was under-cooked and not that hot. The salmon dish had to be returned to be be heated also. I've eaten here many times and have always had a spectacular food experience. Maybe because it was the last night of Restaurant Week they were off their game???? Service was a little slow at the end. I received my dessert and didn't get my tea/coffee till after dessert was done.
Food delicious at the restaurant and everything still excellent as leftovers two days later
Anniversary dinner. Great service and ambiance.
Took advantage of Raleigh restaurant week pricing.
Our server was super.
Unfortunately although the food quality was very good, they do seem to think excessive amounts of salt is necessary. Don’t get me wrong, I do salt my food to taste, but they are much too heavy handed with the salt shaker.
Their regular menu prices are high compared to other restaurants in the area of similar quality and environment.
Overall great experience. Music was a little louder than I'd expect and a weird genre but that didn't bother us too much. Highly recommend the bourbon peppercorn sauce with your steak. Went for restaurant week, so got a good deal. May be a tad overpriced on a normal day.
We had reservations for Sunday afternoon of Restaurant Week. The hostess was quite friendly and assisting me in moving our reservation up in time. When we arrived it was at the end of the Brunch serving and getting ready for the evening service. The server seemed a little upset about something. I believe it was he was getting ready to leave when he was assigned our table but he was very professional. About half way through we were assigned another waiter and we got lost in the mix. We ended up being helped by whomever walked by the table. The main course was served and the waitress said she would be right back to check to ensure the steaks were ok. We did not see her again until she brought the check.
The food was very good I would just think a little more on what time I made reservations the next time.
What a wonderful staff's. The waiter and manger came by to wish u A HAPPY
The Food was absolutely awesome. The chef does a wonderful job! The atmosphere is great and relaxing too. Ive been to several different restaurants and this was the best plate I've had.
We love Sullivan’s! There is not a bad table in the house. It is lively and the food is always top notch!
Great place with great food. Only drawback is that it is so popular it feels like non-stop action of people coming in and going on in a pretty confined, tight area.
You can not beat the quality of their steaks. Outstanding.
Being that it was restaurant week - value was very good. We will return.
Great meal and atmosphere, food and service was great. Had a great time to relax and enjoy the experience
A great menu for restaurant week. The filet mignon was excellent . The entire meal was excellent. We had the Lobster bisque soup which was excellent and the cheesecake for desert was great. Great service.
Great spot for a special birthday dinner!
Tables are too compact. People sit right on top of you and do not adhere to dress code to consider this "fine dining"
Best steaks in the Triangle! Service is always excellent! Love the place and will always dine there!
Nice Friday night with good service, quality food and good company. Always enjoyable and one of my favorite steakhouses, they have improved the dining experience.
We attended Sullivan’s during Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week. The ambiance, service and food quality was amazing. Will definitely return!
The boyfriend and i went for Restaurant Week, and it was amazing. We got a 3 course meal for $30. Talk about a great deal! The ice wedge salad was delicious and the steak was cooked percectly. I will admit a bit on the dry side but i tried to understand they were busy. Got a strawberry cheesecake for dessert that was to die for. Overall definitely recommend it!!
The service was excellent even though it was super busy. The side dishes were excellent especially the mac & cheese.
Yes, but not during restaurant week. Made a reservation and still had to wait 25-35 minutes before being seated. However, it was restaurant week and I was told kitchen was very backed up. After being seated we waited over 45 mins for our drinks and bread. The appetizers and main course came about 15 minutes after that. Food was delicious but as much as you pay for dinner I would expect to have my drinks and bread a tad bit faster. All in all I would go back but not for restaurant week.
A delightful evening and a delicous dinner! Our service was also just wonderful.
Excellent as always
Great as expected.
Had a debate with my date, are the mashed potatoes instant or fresh? Hmm.
We love restaurant week!
Hello As always our visit to Sullivan’s has always been excellent. Thank u. Been dinning. With u all. On and off. Great deal for restaurant week. Great service and great experience. It was a belated anniversary and all is good. Thank u. Thxs for the picture and the roses. Will see u soon
Sullivan's is always a great meal. Will return on a regular basis.
Went for restaurant week. Wonderful!! The stake was cooked perfectly
We went here for our 18th wedding anniversary. The food and wine were great. There was a loud customer beside us but that was not the restaurants fault. Overall we had great service and a great meal.
The place was dead. With only 4 people dining for brunch. 1 server. Food was slow and not present red based on menu descriptions. Friend asked about any smoked foods and there was nothing mentioned or on the menu. She took one bite of the pitifully small crab cake and her throat tightened and she was unable to eat the meal. The restaurant still charged her 24.00 for the entire meal. As well as her 3.50 coffee that was basically her meal. My meal was described as a BLT. However when it arrived it had a piece of pork belly and an egg that was not fully cooked. Non of which I would have ordered if the menu was correct. I will not visit Sullivan's again for brunch / lunch again. The waiter said they had only been opened for 2 weeks for this time frame. They are not impressing anyone with this over priced menu. IMO.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! Must try the Knockout Martini! I had the filet mignon that completely melted in my mouth!! Will definitely come back again!
The food was excellent and the atmosphere very unique. Unfortunately our server was extremely slow and we were surprised with his level of service. Empty plates were left sitting on our table for quite some time as well. Having visited high priced dining establishments in the past... this was unacceptable on the servers part. Overall, restaurant was very good.
Food was not worth the price. Very crowded and packed in like sardines.
We love the food and service at Sullivan’s. We love going there for special occasions and this was my son’s birthday!
Good food, a little pricey and hard to get to.
