We reserve Sullivan's for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Our server Alyssa was so good, this dinner was the best. Food was delicious and we had a perfect overall experience. We now make any occasion special just to have an excuse to return. After dining all over town it does seem like the wine list is pricey. Other than that it's hard to beat the fine food.
We went on St Paddy"s day and of course it was packed. Sitting in the bar waiting for our reservation was very noisy, but waitress was great, even as busy as she was. Dining area is still a bit noisy but not bad. Waitress was fun, and very efficient. Salmon was great, not overcooked. Steak was cooked perfectly. Expensive, but worth it for special occasions.
We are Mastros fans, I’ll start there.
We decided to go elsewhere to explore a little bit - and the reviews put this place on par with Mastros....nope, nope, nope.
I would rate this as somewhere between Outback and Mastros.
It’s all about what you’re looking for, I guess...but if you’re looking for Amazing, stick with Mastros!
GREAT MENU, GREATER SERVICE, AND FAIR PRICING.
MANAGER JACOB, GREETED US AND SERVER DAHLIA MADE US FEEL AT HOME.
The alacarte menu is scary expensive but the $46 fixed price menu is a good choice for this place.
I went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I had been there once before for just dinner. The food and service were wonderful. The waiter was very attentive and the food was delish. We didn't have to wait to be seated we were seated right away. My only comment is the dress attire for the female hostesses. It would be great to see them in something a little more professional for such an upscale place. They basically wear fishnet stockings and mini skirts which is not a problem if you're going to Burger King or Five Guys. For a steakhouse the look should be more put together and professional. It cheapens the place and the experience when there is no professionalism in the dress code. The skirts are so short I was a little embarrassed for them.
We were pleasantly surprised this was our first time here. We waited a few minutes for the server to find us however the manager found us first and gave us complementary cocktails for our wait time… Once the server found us... she did it great the food was cooked well and was delicious!
Spending time in Palm Springs we always go to one of the steakhouses, usually Ruth Chris. We decided to try Sullivan’s based on friends recommendations,
We are very happy we did too. My Husband had the Filet and I had the Chilean Sea Bass, both dishes were excellent and cooked to perfection.
Our waiter was wonderful as were other servers keeping the flow of food and drinks in perfect harmony.
We will return next time we are in town.
The food and service was very good. There was a nice wine menu.
If you’re looking for a good steak you can’t go wrong here. I’ll Beyonce was nice and lighting was just right. Outstanding service is probably most notable.
Great food, wine list was reasonable and good. Service was excellent!
Food was not to expensive for a steak house . However the steaks came out cold and even if they were piping hot u don't think they match up with other steak houses in the area
Outstanding service, food, ambiance!
A must visit while vacationing in the Palm Desert area!
So elegant, we had family in town and enjoyed a beautiful dinner with excellent food and service
Excellent experience, the service was wonderful, very attentive & pleasant. They all made our 26th Anniversary Dinner a wonderful memorable experience... we loved it!
Still one of the best steakhouses in the desert. Food and service have consistently been great year after year.
We enjoyed Sullivan's mostly. Service was great, but we felt the food was only just above average. One of the steaks had a lot of gristle. We felt it cost a bit more than it should have. We would, however, say that their prix fixe menu was reasonable. We appreciated the fact that there was no blaring thump-thump music. Atmosphere was good.
We've gone to Sullivans many times and have always enjoyed it. My only complaint is the wedge salad doesn't have bacon, red onions or trickle of balsamic vinegar on it which is pretty standard in other nice dinner houses. (especially for the price)
Food was good and service was good once initial contact was made which took too long. The food was attractively presented and the timing of the courses was very good. We were celebrating a birthday and a special effort was made to provide a desert with a candle as well as the singing of happy birthday. A photo of the group was also provide which was a very nice touch.
We arrived during happy hour which included live music. Unfortunately the the music was very loud and the noise carried into the dining room.
Overall we had a great time but the the restaurant is quite pricey.
Requested my steak to be medium medium rare when the steak game it was well done. I told the waiter and some girl came up to the table and asked me what the problem was and I explained that the steak was well done sarcastically she asked me to cut the steak which I did and then she asked me to cut it again to see if the middle was more rare my shoe was more rare than the steak I really didn't appreciate the way the girl handled it I regret I did not get her name but again sarcastic
Great steak and service. Love the lettuce wedge and Idaho baker
Dinner was great! Only issue was that they were out of many of the main courses on the menu.
Very disappointing ambience. Hoped the food would be better but steak was also disappointing. Would definitely not go back !
Long meal with poor service and meats cooked at wrong temperature
The food was not as good as it has been in the past. Also we did not get to our table to several minutes past our reservation time. Service was great.
We were warmly greeted when we approached hostess desk. They were able to seat us in the area we requested. We had expressed the fact that we had theater tickets and they were very good at accommodating, while in no way rushing us. Though busy, our servers were very attentive. The wedge salad was one of the best I'v ever tasted. I asked our server which salad she recommended and without hesitation she said the wedge. Our steaks were cooked to our requested temperatures and were very tasty.
My only issues (though minor) were that I had ordered an Absolut on the rocks with olives, and when it was presented was told that the olives were not available, but that they would bring them right over, but they forgot. After a while I got the attention of another server and they were immediately brought to me. Also, we were surprised at how many young children were dining there. Some were a bit loud and two mothers were standing with their infants and rocking them to soothe them and keep them quiet. I mention that only because to us it was unusual to see this at a fine steakhouse. (Not judging, just commenting on what we observed).
All in all, it was a great experience and we will continue to dine at Sullivan's.
Complete mixed review. My daughter and I are vacationing for the weekend We were two hours early for our 815 reservation. My reasoning was that they must take walk ins and we could wait 45 mins or whatever. I also had a hungry 12 year old with me. So I asked the hostess who initially told me no and said there was no room to be flexible on their end. Being that I was using an opentable reward (which requires me to use the reward AT the restaurant I pick), and vacationing ..We HAD to eat at this Sullivan’s. So we sat and waited. Expecting to wait a full 2 hours. About 15 mins later the hostess called me up and had someone seat us. I was very appreciative given my situation and hungry child.
The service was more than slow from the start. We didn’t end up getting our meal (even though we ordered fairly quickly in effort to release the table fast as they made an exception for us) for 50 mins. The waitress was very sweet and told us they were behind in the kitchen. I didn’t realize HOW behind. No real issue as we weren’t in a hurry. I asked two different people 3x for sparkling water but it never came. Again not a big deal. The calamari was amazing. Our filet was rare even though we ordered medium. But by the time it arrived we were starving so ate it anyway. All in all, the best part of the experience was our sweet waitress who did the best she could and was attentive as she could be given the large parties she was tending to. I doubt I will return though.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. What would’ve been a great experience, was definitely brought down by the service. The waitress would disappear for long periods of time. We waited an unusually long time between our first course and entrée. Refills of water took a few requests. It seemed as if no one knew whose job that was. We asked her a couple of times for the check; she didn’t seem to remember the original request. Strange & off putting behavior from a server, indeed.
we have visited Sullivan's ever since it opened. have had up to 12 people there as my guests. i am in the cattle business and even though the bone in filet was cooked right it lacked the flavor of other prime steaks. Gallagers in las Vegas sets the standard for aged PRIME steaks but there are only 2 of them in the U.S. and they dry age their meat for weeks. the price of the bone in filets are about the same. we will continue to visit Sullivan's
Service and food were excellent.
It was Valentines Day so it was very busy but they did a great job under the circumstances. Very friendly server.
Made reservations on Open Table. Got a phone call from the restaurant to confirm within the hour. Busy Valentine's Day but the food was outstanding.
Went on Valentines Day so it was very busy. Everyone and everything was great. Food was excellent and the anniversary gesture of a photo with all the staff signing the picture frame was a pleasant suprise. We will return to enjoy the wonderful food and spirits!
Checked in at 5:45 which was my reservation time, was told there would unfortunately be about a 15 minute delay so that we should either go to the bar or just mingle around. We were fortunate to find two seats at bar and had a glass of wine. At 6:15 , 30 minutes past our reservation I told my husband we we leaving if our table still wasn't ready, so he went back to check in counter. He was told that he had never checked in and the attendant seemed confused..... they did seat us right then but what a waste of time! We have a two hour drive to this location and obviously a two hour drive home so really didn't have time to waste when your paying babysitters!
Was a busy night on Valentines so it was quite loud and lots of activity happening around our table. Nevertheless, the wait staff was happy and upbeat, and the food was good quality. We’ll definitely go back to experience it on a more normal night. Also to test the lounge that looked like a comfortable casual dining experience.
Fair value for prix fixe menu which they don't give you unless you ask for it (check web site first).
Everything was wonderful except the service was a little slow.
Food was very good but not as good as our previous experience. The last time we were there, the food was fabulous and service was superior. We were a little disappointed on this trip.
Sullivans is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always tasty and the servers are friendly and timely. When we have a special occasion, this is the restaurant where the staff treats you like royalty.
