We come here very often when we are in town and are always excited for excellent food and service.
Last night all 3 at our table ordered a small filet, medium well. All 3 were cooked differently; 1 rare, 1 medium and 1 nearing well done. 1 bled out extremely bad on the plate and it was evident it wasn’t rested. 1 was not seasoned at all.
All 3 steaks had a very terrible flavour to the meat itself. Very disappointed in it and having to pay for the steaks that were sent back in the end, uneaten, as we didn’t want to get sick from a foul, off taste.
Our server handled the situation well and insisted the manager would want to know of the situation, however when he came over he did not seem to be too concerned or follow up after when he said he would go check with the kitchen.
Really nice experience. Ate a late lunch/early dinner and it was perfect.
Everything was perfect. We had brought friends with us —their first time at Sullivan’s. I worried that my pre-Sullivan praise wouldn’t be shared, but they loved it, too.
I Had the Ribeye and my wife had the Seared Ahi, both cooked perfectly, excellent bar, our server Crystal, was very attentive as was all the staff we came in contact with, what great service and overall experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and they had our table decorated and signed a card too. Our experience tonight could not have been better. Thank you Sullivan's, Crystal and staff!
The filet mignon that we ordered medium rare arrived OK in the middle but was burnt outside.
It was the first time this happened and we dined here many times
Have come here plenty of times over the years. Last time, July 4th for Mom's 88th. This time it was MY birthday and I opted for Alaskan King Crab legs.
First, server nice but seemed new. Old Fashion drink ordered, off of classic cocktails, was super good! Best drink I've had in a long time. Flavorful! Smooth. Ordered 2. However, they forgot the cherry..told server and got 2. Other drinks, gin and tonic with Tangeray and an Appletini, both were good.
Ordered 2 lobster tails, but 6-7 oz, not lb, looked good as well as wedge salad. Like I said, I got Alaskan King Crab legs. Found out they were difficult to open, not prepped, nor was a utensil to crack the legs provided. Had to ask for one. By the time I got to the meat, it was semi tepid, clarified butter was not liquidy but starting to gel. Would not order again. Can get the same at Costco for 1/2 the price. ( $55 which went up from $40 in the summer). Lobster tails were easy to access and eat. Very enjoyable. Deserts were good too. Had keylime pie and a bread pudding. Overall time spent here was enjoyable with a few snafus. Would return but order something different.
My rating is a 2 vs a 1 because our server (and others) were all very pleasant and apologetic. Sullivan's seems to be suffering from some management challenges. We had reservations for 6:30 on a Sunday. The restaurant was less than half full. Drinks took 15 minutes and salads were late (but good). While we were waiting for drinks, I overheard the table behind me send two entrees back for being cold. Two of our four meals were good but two were terrible. The Ahi was served as over-cooked as could be and the 8 ounce filet tigon was stone cold and rare. We returned the Ahi and passed on a replacement, I asked to have the filet heated (not replaced) since it was a fine cut of meat and just needed to be cooked for a few minutes. The server returned with a new steak in 10+ minutes and it was colder and rarer than the first one. I couldn't tell if they replaced that cut too or started over but they did get it right the 3rd time. I rarely ask to have a dish returned to the kitchen (maybe 4 times in my life) and I rarely post negative reviews but I felt compelled to point out that what used to be a great steakhouse is struggling to prepare a steak. The assistant manager did write off the Ahi dish and we still tipped the poor server well.
We had a wonderful dinner at Sullivan's this past weekend, I highly recommend their "knockout" martini, it was delicious. Service was top notch and we will definitely return on our next trip to the desert.
Service was very good. Food was excellent and entertainment was good. Prices are reasonable and wine selection is good.
11/07. Baked potato overdone.Steak more med well vs. med.rare, too much garlic on spinach dish.
My favorite place to have dinner for my birthday. I love the pretty rose petals they put on the tablecloth. Food was fabulous, and their chocolate meltdown desert phenomenal! The picture they take and give us is a special way to remember the evening. This is my fourth year celebrating at Sullivan’s, and I hope there will be many more to come ♥️
Jackie, our server, was great!
We had been to Sullivan’s before and the food was good
My husbands steak was overcooked, my sons cowboy steak was overcooked , my salmon left an aftertaste, had to ask for ice tea and water refills.
My husband sent his filet back and did not want another
Both he and my son ordered medium to the pink not to the well done
We went for our anniversary and were so happy with the quality of our food. It was all delicious.
The service was very slow and the food and drinks were not very good and over priced
We were treating friends who were celebrating a birthday & 50th wedding anniversary. They received the royal treatment from rose petals on the table to individual greeting cards to personalized dessert plates to a photograph of our party in a folder. The pre fixed was a great value & ambiance superb. Thanks for the memories.
As usual good food - perfectly cooked steaks and a very lovely and competent server named Nicole! We will if course be back!
Disasterous evening from beginning to end
Service was very slow. I have been to this location before and will return but if this was my first time, I probably would not go back. I expect a restaurant in this price range to have it all together and they did not. We were not the only ones that had to wait a considerable time for your food.
I have been there many times over the years and this time was not the best. The food was good, but not perfect, the way I have come to expect from Sullivan's. The server forgot things and brought the drinks late. I am definitely going to give it another shot, though.
71st Birthday celebration, good as always.
Reservations were easy. On arrival was quickly seated and introduced to our server. Observed we had the entire restaurant to ourselves and must admit, was a little skeptical as to quality of food. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. The food was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Prices were reasonable. The manager also stopped by to ensure we had a pleasant experience and were happy with our dinner. Over all, I’ll be back and recommend others to do the same.
Food was not that great. Had a cowboy dry aged bone in and it was hard and had a nerve right through the middle. Quality of the steak was poor. As the place filled the waiters and cooks lost their cool and confusion with panic kicked in.
Steak way over cooked. Asked for medium rare was well done. Alaskan king crab tasteless. That’s hard to mess up. But they did. Waitress in hot pants was insulting given Me Too and it’s 2019. Would not go back
Great happy hour. Dinner was fantastic, service was great, would definitely return when in the area.
Wonderful! We enjoyed a pleasant lunch, which was well-served and gracious. A tiny misunderstanding in the kitchen was addressed most professionally and with dignity, integrity and accepting responsibility. How refreshing! This should not deter any diner, but, instead, encourage the most discerning and appreciative diners to come to Sullivan's in Palm Desert. We will certainly return! There are a lot of fine similar restaurants in the Palm Desert / Rancho Mirage area, but Sullivan's proved to us that they merit consideration and are most-deserving of patronage. They are a tribute to their craft. Easy, convenient, and free parking. Charming hosting, attentive servers, and professionals (in every sense of the word!) in the kitchen.
Now owned by Macaroni Grill, it was a very pleasant experience.
Wife and I were celebrating our anniversary late since we have an infant and it's been hard to get a babysitter. I made the reservation just a few hours before since we found a babysitter last minute. They set everything up perfectly and we had an amazing time there. Rose pedals on the table, with a candle in the center, happy anniversary card and at the end a cheese cake with happy anniversary written on it. As well as picture taken by our waiter placed on a small frame with the staff signing it wishing us a happy anniversary. Worth every penny, service was excellent the food and wine were a great treat. Cheesesteak egg rolls are a must try as an appetizer.
Fantastic food and service. We were shocked it wasn't busier inside, as this is best steakhouse we've tried in the area!
Food and service was great. We'll be back.
I’ve been coming here since they opened in P
Thank you for great evening of food
We had a awesome server RICHARD. He was on top of everything. The chicken dish was good. Had a wonderful birthday experience.
The staff was very friendly and attentive but the rib eye (dry aged ) was disappointing. I've had steak at,alot of high end steak houses so this ribeye did not measure up.
Sullivan's Steakhouse was a nice surprise. The waitstaff was amazing. Everyone greeted us and wished us a Happy Anniversary, including the management. We ordered a very good 3 course meal off the prix fixe menu, which we both enjoyed and there was plenty of food. The caesar salad was delish, the steak cooked perfectly as described by our waiter and both the cheesecake and the bananas foster bread pudding were both full-size portions. It was a classy touch to take our picture and give it to us after the meal along with receiving an anniversary card. Next time we're in town, we'll be sure to come back!
The steaks must have been frozen when chargrilled and were rare on inside and a serious chargrill burnt crusty presentation on outside. Despite the fact we sent them back the cook re grilled all original bitten off portions and cut pieces on our plates and the result was extremely crusty burnt worse than jerky in Burning Man festival and the center of the larger parts still rare. Inedible. Very disappointed. Worst flavor and result and it defies belief the cook or server thought we could eat this food at this preparation.
We both had the rack of lamb it was perfectly prepared and presented. Lots of flavors.
Food was excellent, service was mediocre. Bus boy was on point refilling our glass of water but never picked up a dirty dish. Salad dishes remained on our table until our main course arrived. Main course again no one cleared our table. Until our waitress came over to offer dessert then she only took our left overs to pack the up. Finally another waitress cleared the table. It was Monday night and only 5 tables had patrons.
Sure Thing menu was good. New York steak cut was tough, server should have suggested son to order it medium.
My Son, and I took my wife here Sunday for what might be her last Birthday celebration ever. “We Pray Not” I did notice a full bar at the entrance, and once seated, I asked our server for a strawberry Margarita for my wife, she said the only Margaritas they sold, were the ones on the menu. I find it very hard to believe that a place such as this one, would not be able to make a dying woman, a strawberry Margarita. So we settled for the spicy Margarita, which was not bad. Later, our server informed us that they’ve ran out of bread ”Really” ? A whole hour later, a young lady approached our table to bring us something, NOT our meal, she asked us how everything was so far. Not knowing she was the manager, I vented my frustration to her, I was not rude, nor was I nasty, I just complained about the lengthy wait , an Hour. I also told her about the bread. I noted to her, that the restaurant was half empty, and they weren’t busy, or at least it didn’t seem busy to me.
Our server rarely came to check on us, she literally only showed up, when bringing items to our table. I sat there longing for a cup of coffee, finally i flagged down a different staff member. If I had to compare the quality of the food, and the service to Ruth’s Chris , it would definitely be Ruth’s 10 times over. The food was good, I would say a 7/10. Key lime pie EXCELLENT. And to be honest, the manager did Credit our bill substantially. But I would have rather paid full price, than to have a ruined evening with my wife an Son. I will NEVER Return, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
