Waitress was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Service was excellent. We didn’t have to wait around for the waitress or the food.
Business dinner with new clients and came at the behest of one of them. I had been to a Sullivan's in Chicago before; however, the Omaha location was very similar. The food was decent. My steak was cooked perfectly, albeit a little less juicer than I expected from a medium rare steak. The broccoli will be a hard pass for me in the future, but the au gratin potatoes and cheesesteak egg rolls are show stoppers. I also had the shrimp and lobster bisque, nothing special there. My colleagues were a little mixed on their steaks, one in particular discussed sending it back with the waitress. He did not send it back. I still think that this place is solid, just we had a meh moment in time.
Great dining experience . The food was exceptional!
Took over 2 hours to get our food from the time we ordered to the time it was delivered! Need we say more?
Sadly they didn't have the bone-in Wagyu that is on the menu when we dined. My filet was very good, but a bit disappointing as I came for the Wagyu. Service was very good and the meal was very good overall.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Sullivan’s and they made it a special evening. When we arrived at our table, there were rose pedals sprinkled on the table along with a card from the restaurant. Our server was Miranda and she did a great job. She was friendly and efficient, allowing us time to enjoy the evening. Thank you Sullivan’s! We’ll be back!
Everything is just too average for the prices. There are many other options for upscale dining.
Service was really poor. I have been going to this restaurant since 2009 and I have never had an experience like this.
Great experience as always.
We arrived earlier than expected, but they were kind enough to seat us anyway. The restaurant was very noisy despite being only half full for New Years Eve. But I was still excited to be at Sullivan’s. This was my belated Birthday dinner!
We were shown to our table and Alexis, our server, took our drink orders. Then disappeared. We would learn that this pattern would continue throughout the evening. It wasn’t a difficult order, just 3 soups, 1 dinner salad, the Salmon and the stuffed Shrimp. How hard could that be?
Alexis disappeared again. There was no sign of the Lobster Bisque that my husband and uncle had ordered. And my French Onion hadn’t arrived either. Nor had the bread.
About twenty minutes later, our main courses arrived. Delivered to our table by two different servers, with Alexis right behind them with our Soup Course. Still no sign of the bread, which for the 3rd time my husband asked for. It made its appearance finally halfway through the meal.
It was apparent our food had been waiting in the kitchen for a while. French Onion soup is supposed to be scalding hot upon arrival at the table. Mine was lukewarm at best. But the highlight was finding a Bay Leaf in my soup. Never had that happen before.
The meal itself wasn’t something I would recommend, the Crab Stuffed Shrimp were dry and rubbery. But since it was my birthday, I did get a very nice dessert. Which was nicely prepared and their Crème Brûlée is a decadent sweet treat.
My husband and uncle’s meals were like something you get from another lower priced Steakhouse. The mashed potatoes were barely warm, the asparagus was cold, and the coffee had a large amount of grounds left in the bottom of the cups.
I had been to Sullivan’s once before in 2019, and it was amazing. That’s why I picked it for our Celebration dinner on December 31. But it’s sad to say, I don’t think I will be recommending it any more to my friends.
Top shelf meal!! Delicious libations, great starters, yummy deserts. Waiter staff is always friendly. Never had an issue with parking downtown either. We always grab some gift cards from Costco to save a little!! Bon appétit
Service bit lacking from host to server but may be due to staff shortages.
Cheesesteak egg rolls awesome, shrimp and lobster bisque was different than i had my first at Sullivan's a few weeks prior to ladt night's visit. It was not good this time. Tasted like someone dumped cinnamon/nutmeg in. Couldn't taste any seafood.
Friend ordered Wagyu bone in, but server came back to say they were out of and to order something different. Got bone in sirloin medium rare. I ordered bone in cowboy cut ribeye.
His was done nicely but seemed more medium. My steak was more like medium well inside butnsince a thicker cut, i had a lot of charred exterior that tasted like charcoal. Overall my steak was dry and really had no flavor. A goodnsteak shouldnt need steak sauce or additional salt or pepper. I did try some ofnthwirnsteak sauce. It added moisture but not a good steak flacor. I left some small chunks of burnt edges on my platem brussel sprouts were shredded. Only flavor was the bacon bits every few bites.
Dessert, one free bread pudding for friend's birthday. Was dense and. Ot a lot of flavor. Glad vanilla bean ice cream was on top. I had new york style cheesecake. The strawberry topping was cloudy looking and likenut had been sitting in a siner cafe display case. Cheesecake at least visit was good, but time not good. For what you pay and how the food tasted, i most likely wont be back anytime soon. Just so disappointed.
Our server was Great! As we are big time Foodies we are very hard graders. We enjoyed all our dishes. They were expertly prepared. Cadence was off a little, but it was Christmas evening and they were slammed busy. Thank You for making our holiday travels a pleasant experience!
So I have always wanted to eat here but never had due to the price and being a single mom. Well I got remarried and my husband and I decided to bite the bullet. We booked on Christmas as we didn't have our kiddos (at their other parents house celebrating and our baby was with Nana). Well I just want to say our waitress was great! Very sweet and was obviously busy but managed the tables well. Loved the atmosphere perfect for making up our anniversary a month prior but hey when you have 5 kids those things get missed from time to time lol. She recommended the bacon thing for an appetizer (this was mouth watering phenomenal!) Husband and I ordered Ribeyes each. Cooked well, rare and medium, he ordered garlic mashed potatoes and I ordered theac n cheese. This is where it went really wrong. His mashed potatoes were over boiled so they were watered down. Like try hospital food grade and my Mac n cheese lacked cheese, it was very dry. The steaks didn't have a ton of flavor but super tender. To say for the price we paid we were very disappointed with the flavor of the dishes. We've had better at "cheaper" steak places. The absolute best part was the chocolate cake for dessert and the old fashioned we split (neither of us are big drinkers but both enjoy whiskey and bourbon from time to time). Those were amazing! This could have been an off night (was Xmas after all) but I can't say that I would come back and pay that price again. But the ambiance and service was great!
Wonderful experience! Great food, environment and service!
The meal was above average, but the service was very slow. We understood because it was Christmas Day and likely under staffed. Took my recently widowed father and he was impressed with the ambiance.
Being first time ever to this place we had many questions with the menu, Waiter was not helpful at all. Complimentary bread not offered, had to flag another waitress down to have water refilled. Steak, well It was a steak. Asparagus undercooked, they should've been embarrassed to have sent that dish out like that. When the waiter cleared the table before bringing out dessert you'd thought he would've offered to refill water again, HE DID NOT. Dessert, cheesecake was awful. Nice ambiance until I saw dead bugs in the lights above. Very dissatisfied
We were very pleased that Sullivan's was open on Christmas Day as it is hard to find a good restaurant that is willing to serve on Christmas Day in Omaha. Both the food and service were excellent. The White Cheddar & Bacon Au Gratin Potatoes were absolutely amazing! They are hands down the best Au Gratin Potatoes we have ever had. A big thank you to everyone on the staff who was willing to work on Christmas Day to make a very memorable Christmas Day dining experience for everyone fortunate to have chosen Sullivan's for their special Christmas meal. We look forward to our next meal at Sullivan's and we hope you continue to serve on Christmas Day.
Always a wonderful experience in the dining room
They put us in the basement, it was freezing and so far away from the kitchen our service was slow
A perfect date spot for a special occasion. Food was fantastic.
Food was great, drinks were great, experience was great.
Wonderful experience, it was our 50th Anniversary and was treated exemplaryly. Food was delicious. We both had the prefix and wasn’t disappointed in the least.
First time here and likely won't ever go back. Food was priced at high end steakhouse prices but most items were subpar in flavor, quality, and preparation.
Specifically needed improvement:
- Both our filets came out undercooked and had to be sent back which toughened the outer edges
- The caesar dressing tasted bottled, not homemade
- French onion soup drastically needed seasoning, very bland
- Hollandaise for broccoli side came out cold and goopy
What was good:
- Pork belly appetizer (smoke was cool touch)
- Lobster bisque was good although would like to see at least some lump lobster meat in there instead of just the puree
- Wine selection
- Service was good and attentive but again not up to top tier level restaurant status in my opinion
Our meal was wonderful. We enjoyed our Hibiscus and Blueberry Lemon cosmos with the cheesesteak egg rolls for appetizers. The wedge salads were delicious, the steak and salmon were perfect and the cheesecake for dessert was outstanding. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have an outstanding meal and will be back again.
Service was at best tolerable. The food was average and cool. Apologies were abundant when they notice we were not happy with service, food temperature and neglect.
Food was bland and steak was cold. We really wanted to like this but with all the other steak restaurants nearby this one was a fail.
Thanksgiving dinner w family. Reservations at 6:30 but after telling the host staff 3 times that we were there in the lounge waiting, we finally got seated after going up a 4th time at 6:50. Service was OK but obviously understaffed so super slow. Finally got served dinner around 7:15. Mom’s shrimp was good, filet was good but Turkey dinner was not great for the high price. Brussels sprouts were cool and mushy. Asparagus was cold and had no seasoning. Gravy was a glob and key lime pie was too tart/sour. Just not great overall but we realize it’s also a pandemic and don’t blame staff at all. Over tipped but won’t we back for any future holiday occasions.
We went for thanksgiving dinner as we have done before. Unfortunately the food was not as good as it has been in the past. Everything else was great.
Great location in downtown Omaha ... great service and the holiday meal was awesome ... would definately return!
ordered rib eye, medium rare. receive closer to medium. Good flavor and presented well. My mother ordered the thanks giving special. It was only a roasted turkey breast, little dry. Ordered cranberries with, received about 2 tablespoons, very small.
dessert was ordered, key lime pie. what was received was a new york style cheese cake soaked in lime reduction. Did not taste good and was not a pie
They gave us a really nice booth and had a birthday card waiting for my husband which was very nice. Our server was very nice and the food was delicious. They gave us a free dessert for the birthday boy. Some of the wine per glass is a bit expensive, so we went with a bottle which was a much better value. Great first experience at Sullivan’s.
Good food, but didn’t expect to hear rap music coming out of kitchen when your paying around $200 for two people to have a nice dinner.
Our food must have been sitting in the kitchen for awhile because a steak, baked potato and broccoli were not hot. The manager was quick to come to our tabel
Disappointed. No music at all. Food was mediocre - my steak came out undercooked and then by the time they brought it back the guests at my table were done eating and the other items on my plate were cold. Long delays in between each serving, made for a very long dining experience. It’s good a place for a business dinner. The ambiance was boring and stale.
Before show at Orpheum.
Our meal and service were wonderful. We didn’t care for the key lime cheesecake, but everything else was absolutely perfect!
Everything was excellent! The 3 course meal combo we had was a good value
Very good steaks Cajun butter on the ribeye is amazing great Resturant not expensive actually
Say at the bar and assumed our experience would be a good one. Our server was not very attentive and even had to ask for a glass of water. He wasn’t very engaging. I ordered the broiled salmon wasn’t very good. Wouldn’t go back.
