Our Sea Bass was the worst I have had anywhere. It was overcooked, tasteless and then one spot had excess salt. The customer next to us sent back his overcooked pork chop and it took forever to get a replacement. His wife had finished her dinner by the time it arrived and it was still just OK. They also did not offer a free dessert for my husband's birthday. This is the first time a restaurant hasn't done that either. I would never go back. I expected more from such an expensive restaurant.
Sullivans is a very good restaurant. We come here once or twice a year for special occasions. I had the Berkshire 16 oz. pork chop for the first time and it was excellent. My wife always gets the filet mignon. It is very expensive. $122 with tax and tip for two entrees, two salads, and a shared side of asparagus. No drinks or desserts.
Hostess was busy & never even looked up to acknowledge us. Looked at her paperwork the entire time she talked to us. We requested a certain area with booths & she acted like we were asking for her right hand. She gave us dinner menus, during the lunch time. When we asked for lunch menus, that put her out. Not congenial whatsoever. We had to ask for our check after waiting for more than 20 minutes. Our server just disappeared. Again, hit or miss here at Sullivan’s. This would have been a miss, but the food was yummy!
Haven't been there for a couple of years after a poor experience.
This meal made up for it. Great service and food, just need to work on the wine list. 3 tries to get one that wasn't out of stock. Busy Mothers Day weekend so I guess it figures.
Always pleased with Sullivan’s. They do their best to make a great dining experience
Made a last minute reservation for a Mother's Day brunch. Food was good, a while this was probably my fault for not looking at the Menu on-line, I expected more breakfast items to be available. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our visit.
Amazing lounge,great music, outstanding dinner!
Our thanks to Spenser for creating such an oasis in Naperville.
Service was average
This was our first experience at Sullivan's and it definitely will not be our last! We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the staff made us feel so welcomed and special. The food alone was fantastic, but we were so grateful for the service, as well. Highly recommend!
Amazing food, wonderful service... fine dining at its best!
Great service by manager and staff. Oyster Rockefeller, Sea Bass and Chicken special were all delicious. Our guests also enjoyed the crab legs. I don't quite understand the push by the new owners to take every nickle, dime and quarter from their patrons wallet for a bottle of wine. While Sullivans has attempted to offer good bottles of wine at somewhat reasonable prices, such bottles are apparently in short supply. Management has been good to accommodate, but it feels like a negotiation and it is uncomfortable for us. The food, service and atmosphere are truly good enough to warrant semi-premium style pricing, but at some point you have to say enough. All this said, don't let this review dissuade you from visiting Sullivans. We do love Sullivans and feel that the good managers will ultimately prevail. Heck...wouldn't you want to see your customers 3 times a month versus 1 or 2?
Wanted a really great steak after getting over a bad cold and didn’t want to cook it myself. Ordered the New York strip and wished it was a little more fatty and juicy.
Loved my salted baked potato and the service was impeccable.
Steaks are awesome, and so was the service.
Great service, good food. You can’t go wrong with dinner at Sullivan’s.
Wonderful service, wonderful waiter, wonderful food. What else can you say!
Absolutely excellent! From the service to the food and everything in between absolutely perfect. I could not have asked for a better anniversary dinner with the wife! Our waiter Ben was attentive, professional, and just all around excellent. The food well that speaks for it's self ! My wife ordered the wagyu strip and said it was the best steak she has had. I opted for the long bone rib eye and it was incredible. Flavorful and cooked to perfection. We have been here a couple of times for special occasions and have never been disappointed! This time was absolutely no exception. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Sullivans.
Excellent meal and service. Steaks done perfectly.
Just AWESOME! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Could not have been happier. Myself and a few coworkers from across the country all happened to be in the Chicago metro area at the same time. We are all good friends, but the four of us have never all been together at once. I selected a location that was central for all. It was a shot in the dark. It could not have worked out better. Sullivans was a home run. The atmosphere was great, but what was even better was the food and our outstanding server Jen. The steaks were excellent, everyone was pleased. We sampled an assortment of appetizers that were all out of this world, you can't make a mistake no matter what you choose. For desert it was Irish coffee and Crème brûlée. We finished it all off with a little bourbon. Looking forward to doing it again. I was in charge of setting up the dinner and Sullivans made me look good!
Too much salt on the steak but tender and delicious, service was great.
Nice way to enjoy a spring evening. Felt like guest. Staff was attentive and friendly.
A great evening. Food was fantastic and the service was superb. Brian did a great job. Our cocktails were great.
They helped make our anniversary dinner very special.
Amazing! Our waiter was incredible and the food was delectable!
Anniversary dinner. Had a great experience. We will be back.
We had a wonderful birthday lunch for me. From the moment we walked in Mary greeted us with open arms.
Our server was Bree and she was the best. Kind, courteous, engaging and excellent at her job. Just a typical perfect experience at Sullivan’s.
Took my son for Easter dinner after a long day at work. Had been looking forward to that wonderful dirty martini all day! Food and service were great. The only hiccup was that the fresh bread promised to be in our leftover bag was missing. Oh well. Just another reason to go back!
Our reservations were on Easter Day April 21, 2019. The seating arrangement for my family of five was excellent, we were placed in the open air room, which was so pleasant with the springtime breezes on such a gorgeous day. Our server Carol, explained the Special Easter Day menu, and provided insight to any of our culinary questions. Everyone's food was delicious and our steaks were cooked as requested. Carol was very pleasant and her service was top-notch. She graciously took our family picture upon request. This was our second special occasion visit to Sullivan's and anticipate many more. Truly an enjoyable dining experience. Thank you Sullivan's and your entire staff!!
I’ve had several outstanding meals at Sullivan’s. This Easter was a disappointment
From waiting for a table on arrival when I could clearly see there empty tables from in my opinion ruining a great steak to never being offered a refill of my drink.
Wife’s food was excellent. My cowboy ribeye not so much - from covered in pepper to being served Luke warm. I know you want to rest a piece of meat but this was ridiculous. I never noticed if pepper coating was on menu but it coated to point I was scraping it off. Did I miss something? I should have sent it back but...... Cooked perfectly again but ..... Probably would have if waiter had checked better than a “drive by”
Soup and desert great
Easter dinner was fabulous at Sullivan’s! Prime Rib, Rack of Lamb delicious! Key lime pie to die for!
My wife and I have always enjoyed our dining experience at Sullivan's. Our brunch on Easter Sunday was no exception. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and she was simply very nice. The food was excellent and the service was very timely. We did not feel rushed even though the restaurant was busy. We will definitely return.
Super attentive and friendly service, delicious Easter brunch prix fixe meal, and really enjoyed the sunroom on the south side.
Anniversary celebration with my family of 7, could not have had a better meal or service.
lived in the area for over 30 years and have always wanted to go to Sullivans for steak. A friend had recommended it, and reviews were all very good. Went there on 4/20 with my wife to celebrate our 34 wedding anniversary and was totally disappointed.
My wife order her steak medium well, and it came to the table medium rare(she ordered the Filet Mignon) I orderd the 12oz NY strip(order this all the time - my favorite)s and it was the thinest NY strip I have ever seen. On top of that the potatoes augratin were nothing to speak of and lukewarm. - In fact all foods was just luke warm
Once we flagged down the waitress and asked about getting our steaks cooked correctly, we waited a few minutes. When my steak returned - still luke warm and now my wifes filet is well well done. What is really aggravating is that there was no apology regarding the messed up order. This was our first and last time coming to Sullivan's. There are so many other great steak places around.
I know the reviews are really good, but if you are celebrating a special occasion, I would suggest that you skip this place and avoid ruining your day.
Abraham was an Awesome server, will be back with crowds.
Unfortunately, the service was not as good as it had been in the past, but overall experience was good.
Very calm and peaceful environment. I love Sullivan’s.
The Naperville location taste just as good as the downtown Chicago location. PERFECT!
Sullivan's never disappoints! Fantastic food, ambiance and service
Everything was perfect! The table set up, our waiter Emmanuel, the food, dessert with Happy Anniversary, and our photo we got to take home. So special, thank you!
